Poor Vitor, feeling abandoned while his Watcher does "research" on another game. He should be grateful that she's doing so much prep for his ongoing challenges. Lol

Glad you've been having fun with Chef RPG. But it will be lovely to read Vitor's next update. 😊

Glad you've been having fun with Chef RPG. But it will be lovely to read Vitor's next update. 😊

I've been playing and writing about The Sims 4 for eight years now, playing one challenge right after another.
Sometimes I need to play something else to keep simming fun!
It's always a good feeling when I'm looking forward to playing an ongoing challenge again.
Um, but Chef RPG is a really great game created by a solo dev and his pixel art is gorgeous!

Haha, your updates like this are always so informative!  You should be paid by the gaming companies to do little ads for them  :=)
Vitor's chef career certainly was well timed with the game!  And yes, the sacrifices you make playing this game just to get ideas for how to help him succeed  ;=)
Those mini games must be a horrible grind, but given your awesome determination (as noted by anyone who reads your stories here), I'm sure you'll master then all before too long  ;=)
Another lovely (and informative) update, Watcher!

Why thank you! I've been crying to you about the Chef RPG mini-games for days now, so I thought an illustrated description might be in order!
I have been surprmely discipline and, as I promised Vitor, haven't touched Chef RPG since his visit.
Um, but as soon as I post Vitor's next update, I can't promise anything!

Thank you always for your kind words. Now, I need to post Vitor's latest update so I can get back to Chef RPG.  LOL!

7.3: On the Rebound

Sunday, Week 44, Year 4 (mid-autumn)
Vitor: Yes, I'm baaaack! I'm not actually running a food sale so early. This is just a flavor scene.
Last week, Mama Gisele finally completed her final requirement and two of my sisters married and moved out.
On Thursday, I moved here to Sulani and began working on my requirements.
I don't know what all my requirements are yet because Watcher's a meanie.
Speaking of Watcher, I visited her this morning and she assured me she'll take Chef RPG breaks for me!

I spend the morning tending the garden and reading magic tomes, becoming a Master spellcaster.
This is my last trip to the Magical HQ until I return when my future heir is a teen.
Could the Sages be a little quicker? I'm going on a hot date this afternoon!

I invite Blair Joyson (last week's Prom Date) to Totter Park, Copperdale, so we can visit Plumbite Pier.
The moment we begin earning Romantic Satisfaction, Blair looks a little upset but I can't figure out why.

Doesn't this look like Blair is autonomously giving me a First Kiss? That's what I thought. Not complaining!
But I check and, yeah, I can still give him a First Kiss.
While I'm at it, I also ask him to become Romantic Partners. Yes!

Vitor (to himself): Hmmm, should I ask Blair to mess around or go on a Romantic Ride?
Maybe wait until we have The Talk about commitment and stuff.
Vitor (to Blair): Hey, wanna go on a Romantic Ride with me?
Blair: Of course, I do! We just had a gold-medal date.
Vitor: Oh, I got a major crush on you from our Cuddle Carts ride!

Blair: I'm an Art Lover so how thoughtful of you to ask me to paint together at the Arts Quarter!
Did I tell you about my future dream? I want to live in the Arts Quarter and become a celebrated painter!
Vitor: You want to live in the Arts Quarter? Any chance you'd come live with me in Sulani?
Blair: Way out in Sulani, Vitor? Not a chance! I need to live in the city near this Art Gallery, the critics, my fans!
Vitor: Tell me it isn't true, Blair! I thought we'd be growing old together! *stifles a sob
Blair: So sorry, Vitor. I really, really like you but my painterly dreams require me to live in San Myshuno.

Monday
Vitor: I am licking my wounds after Blair trampled my dreams. We basically have no future together.
No use being heartbroken AND broke, though, so I decide run my food stand.
Whenever I run a sale at home, my only customers are Sulani locals.
There's my bestie, Riley Zi (right). He's cute but won't his dark eyes and hair lower the chance of a ginger heir?
As for my white-haired Bracelet Bud, Jorge, I'm not sure he's cut out for Sulani life. Should I re-connect with him?

That white-haired girl in the white dress! I've never seen her around before.
But she leaves before I can introduce herself. Since she lives in Sulani, I'm sure we'll meet again.
Over two sales sessions, I earn a disappointing total of only $1,161.
Once I've sold off the random meals I cooked for my Appliance Wiz aspiration, I'll prepare pricier merchandise!

Tuesday
Since I have a few free hours, I clean up around Mu'a Pelam but one trash pile gives me a Parrot Fish.
I guess I shouldn't be the one doing cleanup on this island, sadly. I can't sell what I find.
Still super disappointed about Blair.
Ever since meeting him two Proms ago, I'd been foolishly building my future around him. *sniff, sniff

Ohan'ali Town's Community Plaza is all decked out for today's Flower & Music Festival.
I'm hoping to run into that white-haired girl I briefly saw at my food stand yesterday.
Honestly, she has two great things going for her. One, I know she's a Sulani local.
And two, she has white-blond hair which absolutely does NOT remind me of anyone.

"That girl" arrives around 4 pm, so I guess she's still attending high school. Her name's Nanea Kalua.
Um, I crush hard on her immediately. She's a Cheerful Child of the Island. Works for me!
I pour on the charm and, before the festival ends, I ask Nanae on a Get-to-Know-You date.
She's agreed to become Romantic Partners. Oh yeah!

Our date has four activities: Socialize (Friendly & Romantic), Swim, and Eat Food.
We both like the "Kiss in Water" social, which boosts us to Very Satisfied romantically.
I check her profile and see that she also has a crush on me, which is a huge ego boost.
When we return to shore so I can ask her to be BFFs, she makes a squeaky sound.
So, I ask if she's a mermaid and guess what? She is!

Wednesday
Today, I mean business! I spend time in the morning preparing Tofurkey Dinner and Baked Alaska.
Before starting my first of two food sales today, I mark up my prices from 200% to 300%!
When Nanea rolls up around 4 pm, I wait until she's ordered then close up shop.
I earn §13,064 for my two sales sessions. Oh yeah, this is what I'm talking about!

Vitor: I run to catch up with Nanea and do some flirting to get her in the right mood.
I'm just about to ask her to move in with me when I max my Romance skill!
Yeah, so then I ask and she says yes.

Vitor: *explains to Nanea about his "Tropical" Themed Display requirement
Nanea: Okay. Since I'm a mermaid, I'll go diving for Buried Treasures. That's tropical, right?
Vitor: But I'm already taking Underwater Photos. That'd be two sets of collected items.
Nanea: You're, like, the super chef! Don't know why you even bothered with a diving collection!
Vitor: Oh! For my contribution, I'll cook 10 dishes using Sulani produce. That fits the Tropical theme!
Nanea: Cool! Now we'll have my 10 collected items and your 10 crafted items.

Vitor: By the way, your career roll is Collector so you can sell anything you dig up, collect, and so on.
When you're ready, go ahead and buy yourself a Treasure Tool for diving and a vendor table.
Nanea: Sounds perfect for me! Um, is it okay if I work on my grades and scouting badges first?
Vitor: Of course! I can help with your school projects and we can travel around for your badges.

Thursday
Vitor: Nanea only cleaned up one pile of beach debris yesterday evening.
Still, around 10:30 am, I get this message that Mua Pel'am's environment's improving.
Why didn't we get this message yesterday?
Did the cleaning Nanea did for her scout badge count or something?

Nanea: I bring home a B this afternoon but I'm so stressed!
What I need is a refreshing swim!
While I'm at it, I buy a Treasure Tool at the deep-sea buoy and go free diving for Buried Treasure.
Hey, I find two different Eyes of Sulani pieces on my first day!

Vitor: While Nanea's busy, I quickly invite Blair over.
You see, his profile still shows him as my "Prom Date (Friends)."
The honorable thing to do is Uninvite him, right?
He's still so flirty with me, but I can't bring myself to ask him to be just friends.

Vitor: Since you're done with homework, let me take you on a date to The Sand Bar in Ohan'ali Town.
Nanea: That sounds wonderful! I could really use a break. I'm not used to being so focused all the time!
Vitor: Tonight's date completes my Paragon Partner aspiration. And my next aspiration's the same as yours.
Nanea: Oh, you're doing Beach Life next? Awesome, we can work on it together!

Friday
Nanea: Sadly, I won't earn my Keep Fit badge before school starts.
It's odd that all the swimming I do doesn't count toward my Keep Fit badge…
Vitor: Not to worry, Nanea. Keep swinging after school and that badge will be yours!

Nanea: Grrrr! I brought home an A from high school today, so why can't I graduate early?
I have L4 Painting and L3 Fitness, but that's not enough so I reach L3 Cooking, too.
Vitor: You still can't graduate early? Let me try mentoring you to L4 Violin!
Nanea: That worked! And now I'm finished with high school!

Saturday
Nanea:  I'm really disappointed that we're not going to Prom, but the Principal passed away.
Vitor was friends with the Principal so he got a phone call yesterday morning, after I left for school.
I guess I couldn't have changed the situation by attending school actively on Thursday or Friday.
And if I'd done that, I wouldn't have brought home an A on Friday afternoon.  Oh well!

At Sand Simoleon Beach
Vitor: Don't forget to apply sunscreen, Nanea. We need a suntan, not a sunburn!
Nanea: Thanks so much for the reminder!
Vitor: I was thinking we could polish off the Beach Life aspiration this weekend, but there's a hitch.
We can't throw a gold-medal kava party because teens can't make or "call to drink" Kava!
Nanea: It's not a huge deal, right? We'll both be young adults next Wednesday!

Nanea: Vitor, we've been sunbathing for hours now!
It looks to me that we're both tanned and I even have the Sunkissed moodlet.
Vitor: I'm Sunkissed, too, Nanea. Let's check off our "Get a suntan" task and move on!

Vitor: You might be thinking, gentle readers, that my rebound to Nanea was too sudden.
But Blair was quite clear, saying there's no chance he'd ever move to Sulani.
Nanea offers me everything that Blair can't. Well, enough of "everything," anyway.
Join us next time for our young adult birthday and a slammin' Kava Party!

Notes
*Romantic Boundaries: How does jealousy work with this mechanic?
When Vitor & Nanea became Very Satisfied, Paragon Partner's related task checked off.
But when I checked Blair's profile soon after, his Romantic Satisfaction is "Unknown."
Do jealousy trigger even if the other sim isn't there to witness the "offending" romantic socials?

*"Tropical" Themed Display: Vitor's contribution will be "Tropical dishes."
That is, he'll prepare dishes made with coconut or pineapple or dishes from island cultures.
To avoid spoiling, Vitor will wait until he has the Fresh Chef trait to work on his contribution.
So far, Nanea has found 6 unique items plus 2 duplicates. Her career is Collector so she can sell any spares.
So I'll let her keep trying to find 10 unique Buried Treasures out of the total 18, selling the rest.

Nanea is lovely and so willing. Astute too, working out how to capitalise on your strengths. I like the collector career concept. That'll be good for keeping inventories clear.

Good riddance, Blair. Don't you know that the heirs requirements have to come first! im sorry Vitor's heart was a little crushed but the future looks bright now.

Haha, I laughed that your first thought about the Collector career roll is its benefit for tidy inventories!
Vitor needs garden produce for cooking but can't sell surplus produce. I guess when he has too much a single crop, I'll just stash the plant in household inventory.
Since Gardener/Farmer are separate career rolls, I won't have Nanea harvesting and selling cash crops.  *weeps
For Nanea, I'm thinking more like diving, beachcombing, dig sites, and frogs.

Also, the Random Legacy Challenge's rolls for Generational Goals and Misc. Fun are quite entertaining. I like them!

I am absolutely Team Nanea!  She's just lovely, she's a devoted and dedicated partner who wants to work hard so that she and Vitor can succeed as a duo, and her sense of style with all the white is understatedly glorious!
Since she's a mermaid, is it fitting or offensive for me to say she's quite a catch?  ;=)
Blair is a self-absorbed doodyhead!
I assume Vitor not breaking things off with Blair is some intentional thing  to do with the jealousy comment you had at the end as some sort of requirement, so I guess I'll let him slide on it, but if he ends up breaking Nanea's heart, I'll be very disappointed in him!
Another lovely update, Watcher!

Nanea's a Gallery sim so it's a happy coincidence that Vitor's color is also white! She's a cutie alright!
Wow, that "catch" remark is *Chef's kiss
I am delighted you and @Granny Lawlor are so on board with Nanea, and so immediately turned off by Blair's professional life!
I can cross my heart (and hope to die) that Vitor will not be breaking Nanea's little heart!

Costa Mishmash Legacy 7.4: On the Re-Rebound (20 Sep '24)
« Reply #309 on: September 20, 2024, 02:20:18 PM »
7.4: On the Re-Rebound

Sunday, Week 45, Year 3 (late autumn)
Vitor: Last week, my life veered in an unexpected direction.
I fell in love with Blair Joyson at first sight and thought he felt the same but, sadly for me, he didn't.
He wasn't willing to live in Sulani, but I met another platinum-haired Sulani local, a mermaid named Nanea.
Nanea and I have been living together since Wednesday.
She's worked hard: becoming an A student and Llamacorn Scout plus collecting Buried Treasures.
Nanae's wonderful!

Nanea: I never realized before what hard work it is being a legacy sim!
Vitor is so diligent. He's always making progress: making money, skilling up, and upgrading our home.
After I graduated early and quit Scouts on Friday, I thought I could take it easy for 3-4 days, but no.
Now, I'm diving for more Buried Treasures and cleaning up Mua Pel'am. Does the fun ever end?

,
Nanea: Look! I've already found 10 unique Buried Treasures, so I'm done with my part of the Themed Display!
Still, I'm not helping Vitor pay the bills, so I guess I need to keep collecting.
There must be an easier way to make a living! I'm finding legacy life a bit stressful, tbh.

Vitor: We both need a break! Desert Bloom Park will be a nice change of pace, yes?
Nanea: Sigh, a new place for me to look for stuff to sell, but without any swimmable water…

Vitor: I ask two random sims at the park for help building the incomplete rocket ship.
Even without all its upgrade, a rocket ship at this park is sure to come in handy!

Vitor: Give it up for Nanea, who is completing this week's rabbithole adventure!
I considered taking Nanea to Tomarang's Beard Beard Cave or Tiger Sanctuary.
But she seemed to be missing the ocean, so the rocket ship it is!

Monday
Nanea: Vitor, I'm struggling to find joy in this life of ours.
I wake up, do the laundry, eat, dive for treasure, eat again, clean up Mua Pel'am…Where's the fun?
Vitor: I'm so sorry, Nanea. A new generation is always hard starting out due to lack of funds.
I'm motivated to provide well for the next generation, just as my parents provided for me.

Nanea: After some diving, I hold my first ever yard sale.
At 200% markup, I sell nothing at all from start to finish.
Before my second yard sales, I drop my markup to 100% and manage to sell 3-4 items.
Why am I so bad at this? Is it because I only have L1 Charisma?

Tuesday
Nanea: What was I thinking? I should be selling Sulani treasures somewhere other than in Sulani!
We've come to Tartosa because it has a beach where I can swim if I dehydrate.
Hmmm, how I'm dressed does seem to make a difference. I've sold out everything by noon!

Vitor: Hey, Riley! Long time, no see! Thanks for coming to my yard sale! And wow, you're looking great!
Riley: Thanks! I lightened my hair color and had a professional eyebrow job!
Vitor: Remember when we first met? I was a grade-schooler and you were a teen!
Riley: Yeah, I remember you lying to your sis Zita that Watcher placed me off-limits as a spouse option.
Vitor: Hey, no judging! I was just a kid then!

Wednesday
Vitor: I age up into a Perfectionist while you, Nanea, have become a Lovebug!
Nanea: Yes, I am. I've heard all about how your parents woohoo'd all over the simverse!
I'm glad you have max Fitness, Vitor, cos you and I will be following in your parents' footsteps.
Vitor: Uh, Nanea, I'm the exact opposite of my parents. I dislike woohoo and want us to have a science baby.

Nanea: You're joking, right?  It's bad enough that I slave away day and night as your legacy worker bee.
But now you expect me to embrace a lifetime of celibacy?  You're very attractive but you ask too much of me!
Listen, I'm grateful you helped me with school and scouts. So, yes, I agree to have a science baby with you.
But after our Kava party, I'm outta here! Wut? I can't move out until you find another partner?!

Vitor: As you can see, I've added a large nursery with ensuite to the hose, so it's no longer a Tiny Home.
Nanea: During the Kava Party, I'm responsible for calling guests to drink Kava and making Kava Toasts.
Vitor: Meanwhile, I'm in charge of all the other party goals.

Vitor: A few of the goals don't check off when they're completed.
Still, we manage to earn a gold medal for our Kava Party.
As promised, Nanea agrees to have a science baby with me and I bring home a little girl, Oana.

Riley: Is it my imagination or does our Birthday Boy seem a little down today?
Vitor: Nanea broke up with me this morning and wants to move asap.
But my requirements stop her from moving out until I move in a new partner.
Riley: You know I've always liked you, Vitor. You can't see us together?
Vitor: We, uh, started a thing in high school. Are you still interested in me?
Riley: Am I ever!

Nanea: So it's settle4d then? You've moved in and Vitor's off to bring home another science baby?
Riley: That's right. And now you're free to move out. Don't b a stranger, Nanea!
Nanea: I have no plans to leave Sulani. I'll be moving back into the Mahi'ai household in Lani St. Taz.
Riley: That's great! We merfolk are the happiest living in Sulani, yes?

Thursday
Vitor: *explains his "Tropical" Themed Display requirement and Riley's career roll
Riley: My career is Fishersim? Well, that's easy! I'll catch 10 tropical fish for the Themed Display!
I'd love to catch all unique fish, but Ciuudad Enamorada broke all of Sulani's fishing signs.
I'll try my luck fishing from an outrigger canoe. And Selvadroadian fish also count as "Tropical," right?

Riley: Wow, Nanea and I are both merfolk, but the babies are both spellcasters with your violet eyes!
Vitor: Nanae's ears aren't pointy, but you and I both have pointy ears, so Ulani's pointy ears are no surprise.
Riley: I see you dressed the babies to match the color of Nanea's white scales and my purple scales. Nice!
Vitor: Nanea's daughter Oana is Sensitive and your son Ulani is Sunny. Let's hope they're both easy to raise!

Friday
Rily: Vitor's grandparents--Kalo and Sango--arrive today for a stayover.
Here I am introducing Ulani to Kalo (the Gen5 Costa heir who lives in StrangerVille).

Kalo: So, Riley, this baby boy Ulani is your biological son?
Riley: Yes, it's easy to tell because Ulani and I both we both wear purple.

Sango (to Vitor): I don't understand. You're a redhead and Nanea's a platinum blond.
How did you two have a daughter with black hair.
Vitor: I dunno. You think maybe platinum blond isn't Nanea's natural hair color?

Vitor: It's so hard to get a good shot of a mermaid in motion.
Look at Riley in mermaid form with his gorgeous body and violet scales!
Riley: Thanks! I've "parked" my outrigger canoe near the deep-sea buoy.
With your grandparents here, I can focus on fishing today!

Riley: Vitor's left tonight for his new job in the Culinary career.
While he's gone, his grandparents both age up to elders.
They're both so great with the babies!
I've been fishing most of the evening and they autonomously look after Oana and Ulani.

Saturday
Riley: I complete my Tropical Fish display while Vitor's working an afternoon shift.
Seven local Sulani fish, one Selvadroadian Tambaqui, and two invasive species.
Catching invasive species improves Mua Pel'am's ecosystem, so I'm counting them!
That's 10 unique collected items, baby!

With two infants to look after, I'm not bothering with a vendor table.
Instead, I visit the Finchwick Fair to sell surplus fish at a 10% profit.
I only earn a little over §1,100 but fishing from the outrigger canoe is a bit of a chore.
The biggest drawback is that I can't get to the babies as soon as they need me.

Riley: I've found the perfect solution! I built a pond on our home lot.
I've stocked the pond only with fish worth around §50 or more.
And if the babies need me, I can be there in a flash!
Since I can only sell fish and not fish products, this is the best I can do.
I catch a §58 Mahimahi and a §54 Salmon. Is it worth using the vendor table?

Vitor: I return home from work at 10 pm to find a Welcome Wagon visit in progress.
The Welcome Wagon includes Riley's elderly parents.
When I go to socialize with Riley's mother, I see an option to "Ask for blessing to marry."
Wow, I've never seen that before. But after Nanea, I don't want to rush into marriage.

Notes
*Fencing in the laundry area: This simply had to be done.
Sims a distance from Vitor's lot would claim the right to do his laundry. (Think baby bassinets.)
Whenever Vitor or Nanea were unable to do laundry, some rando would later pop up and do it "for them."
So now the laundry area is fenced in with a "household only" locked gate. It was so annoying.

*Riley's 10 "tropical" fish: Riley caught two invasive species: a Perch and a Goldfish.
Catching invasive species helps improve and protect Mua Pel'am's ecosystem, so he's counting them both.
Qualifying fish: Perch (invasive species), Tambaqui, Mahimahi, Celestial Grouper, Green Plakat, Neon Angelfish,
Royal Saberfish, Parrotfish, Goldfish (invasive species), Bluefin Tuna.

I'm assuming Vitor's marital/woohoo/science babies are due to a random roll. As you haven't announced it yet, I fear Riley is not long for the chop.

I feel sorry for Nanae but I hope your mod fixes her up with someone else soon.

It's odd about her baby with Vitor is dark-haired - must be a throwback to someone...

Team Nanea...just over here...sulking in the corner...don't mind me.
Yes, I know you had some sort of requirements for spouse stuff, and I'm interested to see if it's going to be a rotating door of spouses.  Well, partners, I guess, since Vitor's had 3 romantic interests and no marriages.
Nanea was obviously a genius, though, figuring out the important of sensible attire in sales position  ;=)
The science babies are adorable!  Oana has Nanea genes, so she's my frontrunner for favorite, though Ulani's face and eye shape are definitely rather striking, so...the verdict is still out  ;=)
Another lovely update, Watcher, and I look forward to seeing which twists and turns Vitor's leg of the journey takes moving forward!

Quite honestly, the science babies make progress easier since the Random Legacy Challenge dictates no pregnancy tests, so zero time (science baby) versus 4 days (natural pregnancy).
Hmmm, I wonder what life has in store for Nanea... She's in no hurry, though.
But, yes, I was really hoping for her child to have platinum-blond hair but she got Daniel's (Vitor's father) dark hair instead.
Have "grandparent genetics" always been a thing? Is it a new thing or a bug?

So sorry about Nanea having to leave the main narrative, but legacy life with Vitor was really not for her.
Now she can enjoy a laidback life as an unemployed mermaid, hanging out at the beach and floating on her back all day. No mores tupid laundry, either.
The babies both are pointy-eared, violet-eyed spellcasters. If could have my druthers, Nanea's girl would have be platinum blond and Riley's boy would be a mermaid.
You're right, the girl Oana looks a lot like Nanea but the boy Ulani has an usual jawline with high cheekbones.
Darn it, I was sure Nanea's child would have red or white hair! Maybe I should've had her go to the science baby center? Does who initiates the sceince baby request matter?
As for life state, perhaps I shall give one of the babies Mermadic Kelp later.

7.5: On the Re-Re-Rebound

Sunday, Week 46, Year 1 (early winter)
Vitor: Last Wednesday, after we aged up, Nanea decided she couldn't live with me any longer.
But first we threw a Kava Party and had a science baby together, a little girl I named Oana.
That same night, my BFF Riley and I rekindled our romance, becoming Partners, then he moved in.
Nanea moved out while I was off to the Baby Science Center for Ulani, who is my son with Riley.
From L to R: Riley, me holding Oana, and Ulani

Riley: I'm really enjoying my life with Vitor! I mean, I've always liked him!
And now we have an adorable little boy together.
My part of the Themed Display is done so I just do laundry, fish, and clean up Mua Pel'am.
When Ulani is older, I wonder if Vitor would agree to giving him Mermadic Kelp?

Riley: Before leaving to clean up the island, I put the laundry in the washer.
But when I get back, it's already been dried but not yet put away. Was that Grandma Sango's doing?
My life with Vitor is pretty laid back, especially since I'm done fishing from the outrigger canoe.
I do laundry, occasionally clean the island, and fish. Oh yeah, I also share babycare with Vitor and his grandparents.

Vitor: Riley and I made sure the babies were fed, changed, and asleep, before I relax on the lounge chair.
I was worried one of them might start crying and wake me up.
I've dozed off when Great-Grandpa Night phones to chat.
My family always phones at the most inconvenient times!

Monday
Kalo: Nanea comes over soon after my grandson Vitor leaves for work.
Since Nanea is Oana's biological mother, I figure it's okay to invite her into the house.
She seems to really enjoy looking after her daughter. Must be tough not seeing her every day.
One day when she's older, Nanea's gonna look back and regret the day she walked out on my grandson Vitor. Her loss!

Kalo: What are you two doing out back here? And, Riley, why haven't you changed out of your speedo?
Nanea: Riley was telling me stories about Oana. I only saw her briefly on the day she was born.
Kalo: Hmmph! And whose fault is that, young lady?
Riley: Uh, Nanea was also explaining her progress with cleaning up Mua Pel'am. *gulps

Riley: You need to go home, Nanea. Stop trying to lead me astray! I'm in love with Vitor and our son!
Nanea: Oh, puhleeze! I'm a Lovebug, you're a Romantic, and we're both Mermaids. We're a perfect match!
You can't tell me you're truly happy and satisfied with Vitor, can you? You know he's holding out on you, right?
Riley: Go home, Nanea! I'm not leaving Vitor and Ulani to be with you.

Riley: Congrats on your promotion into the Chef branch, Vitor!
Vitor: Sorry to leave you alone with the babies again, Riley.
The higher my career rank, the fewer hours I'll work, I promise!
Riley: It's sweet of you to ask me on a home date even though you must be exhausted tonight.

Tuesday
Vitor: In the evening, it was time for Oana and Ulani to blow out their birthday candles.
I bake two cakes then Riley and I do the honors for our two Top-Notch Infants.
Oana ages up into a Fussy toddler with nearly L3 Communication.
Ulani becomes an Independent toddler with nearly L2 Thinking.

Nanea: *blargghhh
Riley: What are you doing here? Vitor doesn't work today.
Nanea: Vitor invited me over for Oana's birthday. And, Riley, I can't believe you didn't take any precautions!
Riley: What!? You're having my baby?!
Nanea: I know it's yours. My first and only time was with you Monday night. Vitor doesn't…well, you know.
Riley: You little witch! You deliberately entrapped me to tear Vitor and me apart!

Vitor (walks up): So that's how it is, Riley? And with Nanea?! Has she been visiting whenever I was gone for work?
Grandpa Kalo warned me about you two but I didn't believe him. What a fool I am!
Riley: I…I…I tried to make her leave but she was so persistent. Vitor, you're the only one I love.
Vitor: Yeah, yeah. I'm the one you love, but Nanea's the one you want. Start packing your bags, dude!
Just give me a day or two to find a new partner, then move out. And FYI, Ulani stays with me. *sighs

Wednesday
Vitor: This morning's The Changing of the Guard. I'm switching up our stayover guests.
My grandparents (Kalo & Sango) have left, replaced by my parents (Gisele & Daniel).
In the separate toddler area I built yesterday, Oana and Ulani are getting to know their grandparents.

I meet Lisa through Cupid's Corner. She's Creative, Good, and Outgoing plus we have amazing compatibility.
What makes me feel optimistic about Lisa? She's not a Romantic or Lovebug sim.
By the end of our Get-to-Know-You date at Media Naranja park, she agrees to become my romantic partner.
I explain my situation as a legacy heir, my two babies, and my parents who stay to help care for them.
She's on board with her role in my requirements and, homeless sim that she is, wants to move in right away.
For some reason, she moves in with §1,982,286. Huh, that must be an inheritance or something.
(I don't want to accept her simoleons, though, so our household funds are back to around §70k.)

Lisa: Vitor is exactly my type looks-wise. I have a thing for redheads! Plus he's such a sweetheart.
And I'm between gigs, so I'm glad I have this easy, low-key career as a Knitter.
All I need to do is knit stuff and sell them on Plopsy!
What's more, I keep my fabulous figure because Vitor wants us to have a science baby!

Thursday
Vitor: Wow, we are 3 out of 3 for violet-eyed spellcasters with pointy ears!
Is that because I'm the one requesting the science babies?
AND Hine (pronounced HE-neh) is a redhead! We're hoping she'll resemble her mother.
Highly potential heir material right here! Thoughts?

Lisa: I should probably move Hine into the living room where I'm knitting.
Oh, but then I couldn't listen to music while I knit.
Anyway, I've decided on my contribution to the "Tropical" Themed Display?
My Knitting level isn't high enough yet, but I want to surprise Vitor when I've knitted all 10!

Lisa: Oh look at you! You're a Master Chef! Does that mean you can retire and focus on the family and food stand?
Vitor: Thanks but no, I just reached L8 Chef and still need two more promotions. Is that a new outfit?
Lisa: What do you think? It's not really my style but I knitted it as part of my Lady of the Knits aspiration.
Vitor: Honestly, Lisa? You look amazing no matter what you wear!

Friday
Lisa: Hine is such a pretty little girl! She has inherited so many of Vitor's features.
I can't help but hope that she'll look like me!
My Themed Display contribution is half done now, so I'll have more time for you soon, little Hine!

Vitor: While Oana and Ulani are asleep, I quickly bring Hine to the toddler area to meet her grandparents.
Yes, I'm trying to separate the toddlers from the infant to avoid any Ignored sentiments.
As the sole breadwinner in the household, I don't have time for any "Where's My Attention?" tantrums.
By happy coincidence, Oana and Ulani age up to children on Hine's toddler birthday!

Saturday
Vitor: It's wonderful to have my parents staying over.
They're great with the toddlers who adore them.
I only earn about §1,000 each workday, so my parents allow me to work my food stand now and then.

Lisa: Oana is such a beautiful child. No surprise once you've met her mother Nanea.
By the way, have you heard the tea? Vitor's grandfather Kalo told me all about it before their stayover ended.
Apparently, while Vitor was out with me on our first date, pregnant Nanea persuaded Riley to marry her.
Thinking it was the honorable thing to do for the mother of his future child, Riley agreed so now they're married.
The two of them moved to Riley's birthplace at Key Point, where Nanea gave birth to a little girl, Kacie Zi.
I bet Kacie's a mermaid since her parents both are. Riley and Nanea must be thrilled about that!

Lisa: On the other hand, Vitor and I aren't so thrilled about Oana and Ulani's skilling progress.
Vitor's been busy with his garden, his career, and his food stand sales.
I had to get my Knitting to Level 7 then I only take knitting breaks to look after my daughter Hine.
The toddlers have three more days to max all of their skills, though, so I think they'll be fine.

Why? Because I finished my Tropical display tonight.
Now I can spend most of my time looking after Hine and the toddlers. I declare Sunday to be Toddler Skilling Day!
According the rules, stayover guests can only help out autonomously, though the toddlers can chat with them.
Happily for us, Vitor's parents clean up and often help Oana and Ulani with flash cards or Play with them.

Lisa: Vitor, welcome home from work! Come with me! I'm excited to show my Tropical display!
It consists of 10 knitted items: 6 Octopi and 4 Sea Turtles.
Octopi qualify because they're especially abundant in warm, tropic waters.
Also, Hawai'i is home to five species of sea turtles, so I believe my turtles qualify as well.
Vitor: That's amazing, Lisa! I didn't even know those knitted turtles were sea turtles.
Lisa: Well, they are now!

Vitor (to himself): Look at my parents, all lovey-dovey  as they stargaze together!
Even after five children, 10 grandkids, and at least 27 woohoo, they are still so in love with each other!
I've been so unlucky in love so far. I'm really hoping that Lisa will be The One!

Notes
*The knitting glitch: Lisa could only complete a knitting project if she did it in one sitting.
If she stopped for any reason (baby crying, someone chatting with her, etc.), she could never Resume or Frog it.
I found a workaround mod that fixes this, yay! It's called "Knitting Fix" by WoahLookAtTheSun.
Now Lisa can stop knitting to tend to her baby then resume her project at a later time.

*Cupid's Corner: Do you remember the gorgeous merman, Serenity Newdawn?
Vitor's mother Gisele dated him once after he appeared as a match on Cupid's Corner.
He's now happily married with 3 kids and never fails to come to Vitor's food stand sales.
Unfortunately, a new Serenity has appeared as Vitor's match 4 times in a row.
(A sim "refresh" their Cupid's Corner matches every 12 sim-hours.)
I finally deleted him from MyLibrary and unfavorited him on the Gallery.
After that, I started getting a different Gallery sim with each Refresh. Yay!

*Ines Costa: Vitor's youngest sibling,--troublemaker Ines--remains single.
I think she and Cecil Takeuchi might still have a pink bar though they're not Romantic Partners.
I've tried setting Mark for Marriage feature on both of them and its Mark for Pregnancy feature on Ines.
But, 10 days after they become young adults, they are both still single.
Ines did move herself into a house in Morensong, Tomarang. C'mon, you two, get your act together already!
