Upgrade Bingo

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]       [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Is there anything more satisfying than crossing off a task on your to-do list? Maybe not, but doing it bingo style adds a twist to it. Help those Sims out in the world by upgrading their appliances and getting a mark for your upgrade bingo card simultaneously.

Challenge Rules

  • Remember, the General Rules apply to all Tournament challenges. Exceptions may be noted below.
  • In CAS (no Story Mode), create 1 Young Adult Sim (all life states allowed).
  • No adding to the household.
  • Clubs are banned for this challenge.
  • Only one upgrade from the bingo card can be performed on a lot.
  • Mark your time down after every upgrade for the bingo card. The time will be used as a tiebreaker.
  • This challenge ends on Week 2, Day 1, 8 a.m. Or earlier if you finish your bingo card before that, remember to mark your time.

Scoring

Please make a copy our Spreadsheet.

Full Rows -- Each complete vertical, horizontal, and diagonal row is worth 100 points each.

Incomplete Rows -- Upgrades marked on non-full rows are worth 10 points each.

Total = Full rows + Incomplete Rows.

A Few Additional Specifics:
The team does not want to edit and change the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else, we may ask affected players to redo their efforts.

If you have questions and need clarifications, ask away — you can post your questions in this thread, or if you feel a question might reveal a particular strategy you are considering, then feel free to PM the team. Choose the My Messages tab > Send Message > Send to Group (show membergroups) > Check the Challenge Board Moderator group.

The winner will be announced on Monday following the closing date below. Once the event has closed, everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, and the winner is expected to do so in detail.

"Only one upgrade from the bingo card can be performed on a lot." So perform upgrades on 25 different lots for the bingo? The wording is confusing me.

Correct. Each upgrade on the bingo card would be on a different lot.

Where have you been?! You're supposed to be defending your world championship title! :)

This does not apply to me at all - but I'm asking for the room.

If (for example) you only had base game and fewer than 25 lots ((again, not asking for me)) could you repeat lots after you've cycled through all the available ones?

:) Apologies, time has got away from me so far this year. Not sure how it's almost March already.

@LenaLJ can weigh in -- this is her event. But, IMO, yes, that would be fine. I would think even with the base game, one might have 25 different lots. Not sure.

If there would not be 25 lots with the packs a person has, then yes you can repeat lots.

I can see "clean coat" 2 times on the bingo sheet, is this done on purpose?
We have to make 2 "clean coat" upgrades?

I'm presuming diagonal rows are the the two main diagonals of 5 squares each and not the shorter diagonals of 2,3,4 (and I guess technically 1 square) that can be made ... asking for a friend. :)

Correct, its only from the corners.
So each full row consists of 5 unique upgrades.

My Sim, Lotsa Gnomes, had lotsa fun running around to lotsa lots to do lotsa upgrades across lotsa worlds. Unlike his watcher, who felt lotsa relief, he sadly put down his screwdriver and parts on Thursday at 3:52am, having just completed his 25th required bingo.

He completed all 5 rows, all 5 columns and two main diagonals successfully = 12 x 100 = 1200 points, I believe. He finished, as I said at 3:52am on Thursday.

It was lotsa fun to do, and I saw lots of lots, and discovered lotsa more.

Thanks for the challenge.

Now I'm going to my coffee shops and have lotsa flat white coffee, :D

This was fun. I always enjoy the bingo challenges.

My Sim completed all 5 rows, all 5 columns and two main diagonals = 12 x 100 = 1200 points. She finished at 9:40am on Thursday.

Very fun challenge! I like handiness. My Sim completed all 5 rows, all 5 columns and two main diagonals = 12 x 100 = 1200 points. She finished at 4:39 PM on Saturday (Day 7).
