Warning: this is only a ramble about my Sim family.
I've been playing Sims3 for about 6 weeks; I've started a number of characters in order to learn the game, but several days ago I went back to my original character -- Samantha Reynolds. In as much as I finally felt confident with the game, I allowed her to fall in love and finally marry Goodman Goode (in this iteration, he was a police lieutenant). She was also a lieutenant when they married. It turned out I didn't know as much as I thought, for he was a vampire, but I managed to get him cured.
In short order, the couple began woohooing and Samantha became preggers. At that point, I had her quit her job (she has an artistic trait and I wanted to let her begin painting). After several watermelons and a couple baby books, Samantha gave birth to TWINS! I was just a bit taken aback and had to do some quick room redecoration. As this was my first experience with Simbirth, I found it more than a little challenging. Nevertheless, we made it through the ordeal, got through infancy and the toddler stages relatively unscathed, and the two girls -- Christy and Kathy -- are now young adults, living together in an adjacent home mom and dad bought and fixed up for them. Kathy is currently working as a paper girl and writing like crazy, while Christy is working toward a profession in sports.
Samantha and Goodman are level-10 in Sim Fu and they spar together regularly, which is very handy. Goodman selected the Forensic Specialist track and continues in that career, as well as doing occasional forensic research at home. Samantha is quite content painting and playing piano when Goodman is away. Happily, the couple has invested wisely in local businesses and it won't be long before Goodman can retire and the couple can spend their days adventuring and beating up on mummies (Samantha has already beaten one).
I know a lot of players don't like adventuring with more than one Sim, but Samantha and Goodman are a very close couple and I wouldn't think of letting one travel without the other.
Okay, sorry for the ramble, but I wanted to share how much fun I've been having.
