No apology needed for the wellness focus where I'm concerned - I don't mind a parade of hunky guys in shorts and T shirts after a busy day at work!
I haven't done this aspiration either, so I'm looking forward to, once again, learning from you. 😎

I'm looking forward to Surya and Joko's Tomarang experience!

Thank you! Surya will try to arrange more after-work relaxation for you in the days to come! *winks
Haha, I thought I'd figured out how to tick all four tasks at one go, but Morgyn decided to take a bath soak instead.
Figuring out a new-to-me aspiration is always fun.

I'm also eager to start playing in Tomarang! Surya's trying to get some of his more time-consuming activities out of the way first.
When he and Joko finally arrive in Tomarang, they'll be ready to explore, play, party...and well, do Wellness stuff.

It's amazing how many ways there are to earn a living in Sims. It's fun to see Surya's Wellness journey.

It's amazing how many ways there are to earn a living in Sims. It's fun to see Surya's Wellness journey.

In this legacy, I've had each generation make their living by different means but it's so easy to fall back on the easy ones (gardening, painting, and woodworking).
I'm excited to have a new source of income to explore. :D
And I might have a few more tricks up my sleeve in the generation to come. Haha, I might even extend this legacy past 10 gens.

Re: Mistura Mishmash Legacy Extra: Surya's List of Recipes (11 Jan '24)

Surya's List of Recipes

Surya has a requirement to prepare all of the Southeast Asian recipes in the game using fresh and/or prepped ingredients.  I count a total of 41 items which include:
*Every food and beverage  introduced or sold in the For Rent pack;
*Foods sold by the City Living food stalls specializing in Filipino, and Vietnamese cuisine;
*Foods available in the base game with Southeast Asian equivalents, like Curry, Egg Rolls, and Minced Pork Noodles.

I've made some arbitrary decisions about classifying some of the recipes.
Though made using the new For Rent appliances, the following are excluded from the list: Chili, Hot Cocoa, Hot Cocoa with Marshmallows, and Vegetarian Chili.
On the other hand, some beverages like the teas and roasts are included because who doesn't like tea and coffee?
If a recipe, like Steamed Fish, appears in more than one country, it also gets classified under Regional.
Curry variations appear throughout the region, but I've listed it under Thailand to balance out the number of recipes per area (plus I'm a fan of Thai Green Curry).
Nine of the recipes must be learned from San Myshuno food stalls.
In the lists below, beverages always go at the bottom.

That's an extensive list! It almost feels like a new year challenge for real life. Have you tried many yourself? I don't fancy the coffee also known as civet cat though, lol!
All the best for Suriya's endeavours

I'd say I've had the majority of foods on the list.
I've never had Kopi Luwak, though, and had never even heard of it until Coral Island 1.0 released with Luwaks as one of the high-end ranch animals to purchase and raise. HAHA.
I'm least familiar with Filipino cuisine--I've only had Pork Adobo because a Pinoy buddy cooked it for me years ago.
When City Living came out, I made a thread on this forum listing the different food stands and what they offered.
Surya's list feels rather like an extension of that.  :D

Good thing Surya and Joko aren't vegetarians or vegans, though.

9.61: A Fresh Start in Tomarang

Sunday, Week 61, Year 6  (early spring)
Surya: Our fathers made sure that we kids grew up feeling loved and comfortable  in our spacious home.
But, I tell you, I certainly won't miss the weather in Mt. Komorebi

Previously, I began the journey to become a Self-Care Specialist and also visited the Magical Realm.
Joko and I graduated early after one day of high school, but Ezra aged up and graduated with honors.
I've been teaching yoga, giving massages, and trying to keep Sage Morgyn Ember as a regular customer.
On New Year's Eve, we all ignored the midnight countdown on TV, crushing Watcher's dream of watching it with us.
From L to R: My twin Joko, Papa Hendra, brother Aree & his partner  Ezra, Papa Hiro, and me.

I'm brewing Potions of Plentiful Needs in the backyard when Watcher arrives to show me the view of the lake behind us.
Well, yeah. I would've noticed that myself if I were, like, three feet taller!
Oh, I have a clever idea on how to boost my magic rank!

Today's the first day of our legacy's sixth year.  How time flies!
Casting Repairio on store-bought normal-quality Potions of Curse Cleansing doesn't work out as I'd planned.
Aree, Ezra, and Joko run out to spectate, but Joko immediately dashes off to safety.
If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself! *puts out fire with an extinguisher

Maybe if I cast Repairio on my own normal-quality potions?
After I upgrade two potions to excellent quality, the third potion bursts into flames.
This time, Papa Hendra and Aree come to the rescue.
But me, I'm an Adept Spellcaster now, so I'm off to the Magic Realm.

I'm about to ask the Sage of Practical Magic to teach me magic.
That's when I notice I can help fix her bad relationship.
Time to put on my Neighborhood Confidante hat!
Nice! I've successfully influenced her life, though I'd thought she'd ignored me.

Monday
Surya: Good morning, Sage Morgyn. Would you like to hear the good news or bad news first?
Sage Morgyn: It's Monday morning. Let's start with the good news.
Surya: The good news is that, starting today, I won't offer you more than one massage a day.
Sage Morgyn: That's great.  Two §300 massages a day was getting pretty pricey! And the bad news?
Surya: I learned that the "Have a Regular Customer" tracker has an invisible 18-hour cooldown.
Sage Morgyn: What? So my second massages on Saturday and Sunday don't count toward my 10 Wellness services?
Surya: Sorry, but no. Honestly, I had no idea about the cooldown!

I prefer Aham Ashram Yoga Studio, but I'm teaching at Perfect Balance Spa only so Joko can use the treadmill.
This is my third (and last) yoga class today.  Do you see GG Akira in the white shorts?
He's shockingly flexible for an elder!
I don't mind the small class. My focus is to "Become a Spa Regular," so I can offer spa services anywhere I please.

When I spot Felipe Faamoana heading for the mini-gym, I decide to stay and offer him a Stone Massage.
I'm so glad I did!
Felipe generously tips me §100 for a §300 massage. My very first tip!
I could get used to that!

Tuesday
Eating healthy is a big part of the Wellness lifestyle, so I'm aiming to become a good cook, too.
Well, also so I can make scrumptious eats for our future patio parties!
I don't want to become a Master Chef since I already have a job. but what about an Appliance Wiz?
Tomarang must offer a variety of exotic new cuisine. Can't wait to learn how to prepare them all!

We announce to the family that we're moving to Tomarang tomorrow.
So, our dads give us their 12 unsold artifacts and various adventuring stuff.
They'll also give us §15,000 as moving expenses, but we can keep anything we earn from selling their Selvadorada stuff.
Joko starts his yard sale in front of the Perfect Balance Spa, while I'm inside offering spa services.
The artifacts include several counterfeits whereas the Machetes and such don't sell for much, but every little bit counts!

When I'm done teaching, we take the whole household with us to Desert Bloom Park.
Joko says the Selvadorada goods don't sell quickly, so we add more of our own stuff.
Things like Sturgeon we caught and Space Rocks we got on our space missions.
Who knew folks  go crazy over the Sturgeon?

Wednesday
We return the next morning so I can sell off the remaining merchandise.
Including my spa income, we earn a whopping §34,592!
Since some of what we sold belonged to Joko and I, we're still accepting Papas' offer of moving expenses!
Only one more thing before we head home to pack!

Not sure why Aree and Ezra hadn't tried for baby sooner, but Joko and I would rather move out knowing that Ezra's pregnant.
I talk them into trying for baby in the sauna at the Perfect Balance Spa.
Naturally, I go along to squeeze in another massage for Sage Morgyn.

After moving to Tomarang
Surya: Thank you for coming over to welcome us into our new home!
Wijaya (white tank): We're so glad you're settling in alright. If you need anything, be sure to contact us anytime.
Shanti (left): Surya, since you're a Foodie like me, I bet you would enjoy the Night Market.
Have you eaten dinner already? Shall we walk over there together?

Joko: Wow, I made a quick count and there are 16 market stalls here, but only four are open.
Surya: Do you think different ones open on rotation? Or are the other 12 stalls only decorative?
Joko: We'll find out eventually! For now, I'm going to order dinner at that last food stall on the right.

Surya: I want to check all the stalls before ordering dinner.
I stop at this center stall which sells various stuff including local attire.
Besides a Marbles Jar, I buy flour, sugar, two marbles, and two tassels.
Then, when I go to order dinner, I meet our neighbor Nancy Brock, who lives upstairs.

Thursday
In the morning, the Welcome Wagon arrives, including tenants of the 3-unit Taka Sol 15 plus our landlord Shanti Haryo.
I was sure I'd crush on Decha Trubbaya (wearing glasses).
Ambitious, loyal, unflirty, and married, Decha is exactly the type of unavailable sim I'm involuntarily attracted to.
But my heart manages to escape unscathed this time.  Does this mean I'm maturing?
The other two neighbors are Wayne the Boulder and Yesenia Martinez, a massage therapist. (Her partner didn't come.)

I don't know about you, but does the name Wayne the Boulder remind you of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson?
Do you think it's a kind of not-so-subtle homage to The Rock?
Should I change my name, too? I could be Surya the…the…the Lemon Grass?  Nah, I don't think so.

Friday
It's Friday, so I can only learn the Egg Roll recipe from the Chinese food stall in San Myshuno's Fashion District.
I drop by the Spice Market, too, to buy Curry and Chili Powder from the produce stand.
Darn it, why did I bother? I can buy these two spices at tonight's Spice Festival!

We came to this Isda Riverfront Spa in the Koh Sahpa neighborhood for the first time yesterday.
Can you see me in the back, teaching the yoga class?  This spa is so cramped, my first massage for Sage Morgyn didn't count!
That orange-skirted lady stuck so close to me, the spa didn't believe that I was the one giving Sage Morgyn his massage.
The Spice Festival's already started, but that second massage is making us run late!
(I'm hoping that Watcher will remodel this spa when she's feeling more energetic.)

Surya: We invite Grandma Karina and Grandpa Kazuma to join us at the Spice Festival!
Karina: It's about time! We never see you boys!
Surya: I buy Saffron at the Swag Shop and learn all three dishes from the Vietnamese food stall.
And I even meet our founder Prince for the first time and asked him to take a selfie with me.
What a fabulous night!

Saturday
After a quick trip to Ohan'ali Town to buy coconuts then a detour to the spa for the Sage's daily massage, it's finally party time!
I consider throwing a potluck, since our landlord Shanti's a Foodie like me and Decha Trubbaya likes Cooking.
But a pool party will allow me to serve more of my cooking, so a pool part it is!
Nine of our 14 guests include our landlords, neighbors from our building, Welcome Wagon neighbors, and teen we met at the Night Market.
We also invite our parents, Grandpa Kazuma, and GG Akira. Our family's been eager to visit!

We hire Grandma Karina as the mixologist since she's a professional, but never again! Next time, she can come as a guest.
She spends more time eating than mixing drinks. I even catch her out back once by the massage table once.
Joko and I gift the patio with a buffet table and I load it with four of the dishes I recently prepared. Everyone's chowing down!
(It's impossible for Joko and I to keep up with all the cooking I'm doing.)

Our guests eat and drink, swim, soak in the hot tub, and generally seem to be having a great time.
My family fits right in with my new Tomarani friends.
Everyone socializes a lot and Joko makes several new friends. Me, I'm too busy hustling around as the host.

I go into the indoor lounge, thinking to invite friends to play Scrimble.
That's when our Pool Party ends! We receive a special lounger as a reward for our gold-medal party!.
We're not placing it in our shared pool. Let our landlords throw their own pool party!

After everyone leaves, I go home to make Prepped Veggies using my upgraded Stand Mixer and complete Appliance Wiz!
As a reward, I receive the Batch Cook trait. Gee, maybe I should sell some of my cooked foods?

All in all, we've thoroughly enjoyed our first four days living in Tomarang!

I appreciate that the creator didn't add a no-showers hot springs like other spas on the Gallery.

Progress: End of Week 61
Residence: 1 Ro Kaya Apartments, Morensong (Tomarang)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Residence: 2-5-1 Wakabamori, Wakaba (Mt. Komorebi)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Notes
*Setting up a residential rental: This was so difficult and time-consuming for me!
At first, Apt. 2's rent was over §4 billion. Next, the rooms were autonomously shuffled between units.
It took me hours and hours irl from the time the boys moved out of Mt. Komorebi until they actually moved into Apt. 1.
I've heard Youtubers remark that rental management is very intuitive, but it hasn't been the case for me.
But all is going smoothly…for now, at least.

*Pool Party or Neighborhood Potluck?: We had trouble choosing which one.
Surya's planning to alternate between these two neighborhood events.
For the pool party, we never completed the "Socialize in Hot Tub 5x" task but got a gold medal anyway.
We also skipped the "Socialize while swimming x5" task. How does one talk and swim at the same time.
Surya has the Practiced Host reward trait from the Slumber Party Animal aspiration.  It was a very helpful choice!

*Surya and the Food Stand: Surya makes so much surplus food that I've resorted to storing it in family inventory so it won't spoil.
The good thing is that the boys always have leftovers in the fridge.
Now that Surya's Batch Cook trait will result in duplicating whatever he makes using prepped ingredients, I might let him use the Food Stand.
Obviously, he can't sell Baked Alaska, lol!  Only items from his list of Southeast Asian recipes.
He seems pretty busy with his self-care activities, but he could do one short yard sales daily.  I'm still thinking about it.

Congrats on gold for your first ever pool party. That's quite an achievement.

The rental thing doesn't quite work as one might expect but it does fall into a logical mode. Hope you're having fun.

The Tomarang atmosphere really does exude hot and humid. It takes me right back to Singapore and Cairns  :D

When  the boys were ready to move and became a "Not in the World" household, I made a new save file named "Pre-Move."
Due to my various issues with the Ro Kaya Rockside rentals, I had to restart from the Pre-Move save at least 4-5 times. LOL!
Since I got the twins moved into their apartment, though, the gameplay has been really fun!

I was nervous about throwing a pool party at first, but Surya has the Practiced Host trait plus a Pristine Reputation.
He earned a gold medal without having to complete all of the party tasks.
I'm really looking forward to the Neighborhood Potluck event!

By the way, Surya and I are extremely interested in the handsome tenant who appears in the For Rent trailer. He's Asian with black, slicked-back hair.
Do you know which one I mean?  (Not the one who's dabbing, lol!)
Maxis often uploads sims who  aren't premade sims but appear in their trailers.  If you run across him, please let me know!  :D

9.62: Joko's Love Life

Sunday, Week 62, Year 6  (mid-spring)
Last week, Joko and I started out improving our skills, earning satisfaction, and saving money toward our move.
We finally moved to Tomarang early Wednesday evening. Paying about §18k for our optional furnishings to move in.
Our new apartment is small but it's  big enough for two bachelors, especially with so much shared space.
We planted a small garden for my cooking ingredients and I continued to visit a spa every day.
Saturday, we threw a successful Pool Party, inviting our Tomarani neighbors and our close family.
Here's a shot of Joko (left) and me (right).

I'm an aspiring Discerning Dweller, so I've been waiting for an emergency or maintenance event to handle myself.
Early this morning, we have an insect infestation in our unit! Ewww!
I wish I could show you how I looked in my fumigation drip, but as soon as I pulled out the fumigator, the even ended.
There's still a few bugs crawling around, though, so I stomp them out.

Wijaya: Thank you inviting Shanti and I over for breakfast!
Shanti: I've never had Goi Cuon (Vietnamese spring rolls) so early in the day, but they're superb!
Honestly, Surya, you're wasting your culinary talents as a self-care specialist.
Surya: I wish there was enough time for me to pursue both!
Joko: Hey, Surya! Have you told Uncle Wijaya that you have a crush on hi….
Surya: *kicks Joko under the table

Surya: Hello there! I'm Surya. My brother Joko and I live in the apartment below yours.
Sam: It's nice to finally meet you, Surya. My name's Sam Bunsi. Please call me Sam.
Surya: Sorry about inviting only your wife to our pool party yesterday. Every time I visited, you were out.
Sam: No problem. I work long hours running one of the Night Market's food stalls.
Surya: Wow, you must be an excellent cook! *disappointed to see that Sam's cooking Tofu Dogs

Because Joko and I graduated after one day of high school, we don't know many teens.
Our neighbor, Nancy Brock, has a teen daughter who we've never seen.
After Sage Morgyn's massage, we head for ThrifTea with our friend Xuan Tan (Good, Loner).
There's some weird cult of identically-dressed Adults doing an Open Mic event. A waste of our time!
At least, we got to enjoy the Chicken Stir Fry I'd prepared just before leaving home.

When we return, I finally catch Nancy Brock's teen daughter at their apartment.
Julie Brock is a Perfectionist Bookworm and she's rather pretty.
We invite her along with us to the recently remodeled Screaming Gecko lounge.
*whispers: Joko, we barely know her. Don't you think it's too early to ask her to join us in the hot tub?

Monday
Joko: This is our father, Hendra. I saw him lurking out front so I've asked him to join us. I hope you don't mind.
Shanti: Not at all. Two breakfast invites in a row?  You are spoiling us, Surya!
Wijaya: I'd like to do something extra special for our most generous tenants. Anything you'd like me to inspect?
Surya: Since you ask, I'd like you to replace the patio grill, which our neighbor Mei Bunsi burned to a crisp yesterday.
But the grill doesn't appear on your list of inspection options, so nothing I guess.
Joko (whispers to Surya): Yo, you should've asked him to inspect something to help raise his Handiness.

Surya: Promoting my spa services on Simstagram has a 24-hour cooldown.
Today, is my 10th consecutive day of doing that, completing my "Gain Self-Care Notoriety" task.
Theoretically, this should've been Sage Morgyn's 10th regular massage, too, since that task has an 18-hour cooldown.
I'll have to keep giving him daily massages until that task completes. I should visit him at the Magic Realm tomorrow!

We were so intent on meeting teens yesterday, I forgot the Filipino food stand opens at the Arts Quarter on Sundays.
So we visit San Myshuno's Central Park and, lucky me, the Filipino food stand there happens to be open.
Here I am eating my fourth dish in a row! No more visiting San Myshuno only to learn recipes!

Tuesday
After Sage Morgyn's daily massage at the Magic Realm, we visit Uncle Yuki (Papa Hiro's brother) for the first time.
I recall Aree saying he has two lovely daughters and I want to do some matchmaking for Wayne the Boulder.
Sadly for us, Kendra moved her new husband into this house recently and Regina married into the Tartosa Misturas.
I'm going to keep looking!

Wednesday
I want to use the grill this morning, but our landlords never replaced it.
I refuse to pay for replacing it, but I don't mind casting a Repairio spell to fix it for free.
Chicken Chimichurri Skewers coming right up!

One advantage of my culinary mini-challenge is that our neighbors like visiting us.
Today, we invite Landlady Shanti, Sam Bunsi, and his wife Mei for lunch.
I notice Sam has his own Rental menu and discover two new types of community events for our apartments.
Am I allowed to host them, too? I'll consider asking Sam to host one next week!

Wijaya (our landlord says to call him by his first name) makes an official visit.
It's cute that he's inspecting something in our kitchen.
I mean, of course, our unit's Maintenance is Amaaaaazing!
Joko and I upgraded every single appliance, both those that came with the unit and our own.

Thursday
Surya: I'd heard from Wijaya that you married our neighbor Nancy Brock. Congratulations!
Preet Brock: Yes, I'm your neighbor now in Apt 3. I'm a Loner so you haven't seen me around much.
Surya: I'm so glad to meet you in time to invite you to tomorrow's Neighborhood Potluck.
Preet: Thank you. I might drop by for a bit if I'm feeling social.

With over eight hours to kill before Sage Morgyn's next massage, we make a short trip to Granite Falls.
Thailand's Tom Yum Noodle Soup is sometimes referred to as Gumbo (which can be made in the Pressure Cooker).
It requires an onion, any crawdad, and any insect.  Joko catches three ladybugs at once right away.
It's so cold here that we can only Angle for a Big Catch, but we soon reel in three Red Crawdads total.

Surya:  Wayne the Boulder is an Active, Self-Assured Glutton, and I considered many matches for him.
Among all my options, I believe the best choice is my Bracelet Buddy, Madeline Rocca (Vegetarian, Dog Lover).
Their traits aren't a perfect match but, at least, she's not Evil, Mean, High-Maintenance, or Self-Absorbed.
Watcher gave her a Tomarani makeover and she's looking real cute!
But why is Wayne shirtless in our rental cabin when it's so cold?  Use it or lose it, I guess?
Joko: Um, Surya, I have a little confession to make…
Surya: NO, Joko! You are ruining everything! Madeline's not for you so get over your crush NOW! Idiot!

After giving Sage Morgyn massages 13 days in a row, I finally complete the Maintain a Regular Customer task!
Why 13 days? At first, I didn't know about the  task's 18-hour cooldown between qualifying spa services.
Also, I must not have always tended the massage table properly.
Anyway, I'm now a Self-Care Expert and my clientele will pay triple the usual amount for my services!  Ka-ching!

Friday
I confess I have no idea how a rental unit's grace period is calculated.
We moved in on Wednesday, so I thought the grace period would begin Wednesday morning.
Joko and I have been anxiously checking our Tenant Agreement every couple of hours since then.
This morning, we see that the Grace Period is clearly indicated but when did it start?  When will it end?

Oh! After checking my old notifications, I see it started around the time I met Preet Brock.
So, yesterday morning.

I make up for yesterday's neglect by inviting Madeline and Wayne over.
After talking them up to each other, I try to hook them up.  Very positive results, yes?
Suddenly, I discover that I'm burning to death!  Ahhhh, help! *runs indoors to shower
Watcher: How are you overheating?! You have the Heatproof reward trait!
And stop changing back into your everyday outfit! Sheesh!

I feel bad about Joko's crush on Madeline and I'm reconsidering the Fresh Chef trait.
So I throw a Dinner Party and invite all the cutest teen girls we've met so far.
Well, except for Madeline Rocca, of course, but also someone I'm mildly interested in: Carissa Lewis.
I mix drinks, cook, and clean up while Joko does all the socializing.

Oddly, we both crush on Genesis Diggs around the same time. (I’m over my crush on her already.)
Sure, she's adorable but her traits are meh.  She's a Recycle Disciple and a Snob.
When we get a party task to dance together, we violate the No Loud Noise rule.
Landlord Shanti shows up immediately and I go out to deal with her and pay the §250 fine.
That violation didn't count toward my Discerning Dweller aspiration since I had Master Chef selected. Sadness.

Saturday
Today, I spend the morning fishing behind the Isda Riverfront Spa then teach a yoga class in the afternoon.
After cooking for a few hours, I'm ready to start my first Neighborhood Potluck!
There's our handsome landlord, Wijaya, dressed in black from head to toe.
By the way, we bought fairy lights for the patio tonight. Wijaya should be paying us to live here. LOL!

As potluck contributors, I ask Landlady Shanti (Foodie), Decha (likes Cooking, Sam, Ni Bun Ma, and GG Akira.
Only three are required but I'm glad I asked five because Shanti and Decha stood us up!
When I phoned to invite them over later, they said they'd be right over but never arrived.  Hmmph!
Anyway, Sam brought Buttered Popcorn, Ni brought Burmese Samosa Soup, and GG brought Nasi Lemak.
And I also shared a few dishes with our guests until the potluck contributors arrived.
Of course, I made sure to compliment each of their potluck contributions!

This is the girl I told you about yesterday. Carissa Lewis is Very Sad from a death in her family.
She's kinda cute and she's a Self-Absorbed Vegetarian which isn't that great.
But, wow, does she have amazing chopstick skills!  Anyway, I'm in no rush to make a commitment.
We're good friends and taking it slow.  I confess it's been great simply ignoring Prom!

The Neighborhood Potluck was such great fun!
For throwing a gold-medal Neighborhood Potluck, we earn a new grill!
Like the pool lounger, though, I'm keeping it in inventory until I have a home of my own.
If I left the new grill on the shared patio, you know I'd be repairing it every other day, at least!

I'm still feeling salty about Shanti and Dech pulling no-shows, especially my bestie Decha!
A few other guests didn't come as well. Do you think inviting the max 15 guests is a bad idea?

Joko and I celebrate our young adult birthday next Wednesday, so we'll be living here until then at least.
Also, I've persuaded Watcher to add a second floor to the Isda Riverfront Spa!
Since cooking with prepped ingredients is so fast, I've made great progress with my culinary mini-challenge.
Maybe someday I'll live somewhere specious enough that I could host a Neighborhood Potluck indoors.

Progress: End of Week 62
Residence: 1 Ro Kaya Rockside (Tomarang)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Notes
*The Cooker: Six relevant recipes can be prepared in the Pressure Cooking without needing any ingredients.
Steamed Rice and Khao Niao Mamuang can only be made with the Pressure Cooker, so that's what Surya will do.
But Surya must cook the other four on the stove using their required ingredients.
Once Surya completes one of the recipes with its ingredients, he may cook it again with or without them.

*Wayne the Boulder: Surya regrets ever deciding to help Wayne find a soulmate.
While waiting for Madeline, Wayne took Prepped Meat from the fridge to eat twice (I took it from him both times).
Why would he want to eat Prepped Meat by itself instead of the other leftovers in the fridge? Cuz he's a Glutton?

*Heatproof sim burning to death: There's a long thread on this bug at EA Answers HQ.
One simmer wrote also buying the Cold/Heat Acclimation traits helped, but another simmer said that didn't work.
For now, I've unchecked the "Enable Temperature Effects on Sims" in my Game Options/Environment settings.
This is a bug that has been happening for at least the past five years. I don't feel like testing it.

*Successfully Break a Unit Rule: Can we complete this Discerning Dweller task without playing the Landlord?
When the lease renewed, Surya had no Unit Rules set in their Tenant Agreement.
As a workaround, I rolled back to a save starting on Wednesday morning and switched to Landlord Wijaya Haryo.
I had him set the Unit Rules for all three rental units from Day 1 of the new 7-day lease.
When Thursday morning rolled around, Surya again checked his Tenant Agreement and saw the Unit Rules.
Is this how the rental system is design to work for tenants? It breaks immersion.

The rental changeover with restrictions is a bit tricky. I've not had a sim stay in a rental that long.
We've just held a potluck (bring&share/American tea) in our sim household. It was very simple except you can't cook during it, unless I was doing something wrong. Fortunately they had dishes in the fridge. The contributions were tofu dogs and veg spring rolls.
Congrats on all the progress.

I'm sorry if my explanation of the lease renewal felt longwinded. I'm not quite sure whether the problem lies with the game mechanics or my gameplay, hehe.

Surya didn't try to cook during his Neighborhood Potluck but he did prepare two dishes before it started.
When I moved back to the States from Japan, I went all out for potlucks (as did my firneds). I was shocked that Surya's nieghbor brought Buttered Popcorn (that he made in their shared lounge?).
Oh, Surya does not have your "veg spring rolls" on his list! Or did you mean Lumpia?  *runs off to recheck all the recipes

Are "bring & share" and "American tea" British synonyms for potluck?

I might have misnamed the spring rolls & they've gone now, lol. I know they were starters rather than full meals. Also a surprise.

As a young adult in  Nottinghamshire, we had many bring&shares with friends, church &/or neighbours. The big joke was that we often ended up with all quiches and nothing else so sometimes people said before what they would bring.

When we moved to Worcestershire, we found people had American Teas as well - generally bringing a plate of sandwiches or cakes.

In some groups a snobbery develops over shop-bought vs homemade but I always think I'd rather people felt welcome regardless.

Bring&share is self-explanatory but I've no idea why it's called an American tea. I like the phrase pot-luck but it's not generally used here.

I realized when I read the latest chapter that I never actually posted my comment from the previous one. How do I get so easily distracted?

RE: A Fresh Start in Tomarang
Good for you mixing potions - I take the lazy way - get one excellent and then copypasto it forever.  ;)

Those yard sales can be pretty lucrative, although I didn't realize a fish, just lying there on the table, would be an attractive offering!

The Night Market looks so cool - I wish the playability was as good as the visual - seems like a missed opportunity. I understand that they cater to low-end computers, and limit Sims and items because of that, but how cool would it be if the game could detect what your machine can do and give you more if your machine can handle it? I visualize that being a bustling area of activity, with opportunities to meet lots of new Sims, but it's (unfortunately) not like that.

Thank you for the pic of The Rock! The Boulder is fine, but The Rock is . . . well . . . The ROCK!   ;D

Congrats on the gold pool party!

RE: Joko's Love Life

Those boys are both just so cute!
It's so nice of Surya to concern himself with Wayne's love life!
Gratz on the aspiration completion and gold Potluck!
And thank you for all the little tidbits about the For Rent pack and how it works. Much appreciated!
