Lovely new toddlers and so happy to see the others back. They look very content even if they are a bit behind. So funny to see Lalisa's hair on Aree! roflol. I'm glad Hiro is happy with Hendra.

I'm also having trouble with the top-left Holiday event box. Irritating but not impacting on my challenge. I've also had a few weeds that stayed after being weeded. The poor gardener & butler were going crazy!

I guess the missing holiday box and eternal weeds were introduced by the For Rent patch. :(
I'd thought the weed bug was fixed then realized I'd installed a gardening mod that must've fixed it.  I mean, watching a sim battling the same weed for 4-sim hours is no fun!

The Sulani kids are happy to have enared their A's at last. I need to do a better job of keeping them occupied, though, especially Dao.
The second she's idle, she runs off to Ask for Advice. Maybe I'll chain her to one musical instrument after another....
Speaking of Dao, she aged up really pretty!

I agree, Dao is lovely. Porsche is a looker too. Poor Aree. He looked anxious as a child and now looks quite mournful as a teen. Maybe he knew he was going to be thrown over... ;)

It's curious how the trio of kids aged up.
They're each attractive in their own way without closely resembling either parent.
Seeing how genetics play out in each generation has to be one of my favorite aspects of multi-gen sims challenges. :D
I've got high hopes for Surya!

Wehn Surya eventually moves out, I kind of want his twin Joko to live with him because playing both them as tenants seems like more fun.
I'll have to give it more thought...

It's quite easy to create a multi-unit rental to live in without being the landlord. I didn't get to play with the on-site community socials that look like fun. I'm looking forward to seeing how they get on :)

Ah, the older kids are back with Dad, the twins are adorable, the heir is chosen, and all's right with the world.

I really like the Jungle Adventures pack - it's one of my favorites.

I agree that Jungle Adventures is a great pack!  There's not only money to be made but fun to be had!  :D

I'm really looking forward to building in Tomarang!
Though I still haven't enabled the pack, I've been surfing the web for days, looking at photos of the facades of different styles of traditional Southeast Asian residences.
I'm not familiar enough the Southeast Asian cultures to attempt to replicate the interior decor (not even for Indonesia where I lived for a year but places I stayed and visited were pretty barebones), but I'm hoping to get inspiration for the exteriors.
The Gen9 requirements I've created include attending/hosting weekly events, so we'll get to experience a lot of the apartment community socials, I hope!
But first of all, Surya and Joko are still only toddlers.  LOL!

8.58a: Prom Predicaments

Sunday, Week 58 (early winter)
Hiro: Like the last time, we begin our week in Selvadorada but with five new additions to our household!  Five!
Hendra discovered he was pregnant last Sunday and, after returning home Monday, we got married that same day.
Wednesday was such an eventful day! Hendra gave birth to twins, we rebuilt our home, then my Sulani kids moved in with us.
Our infant twins aged up to toddlers on Thursday, then our trio of children become teens on Friday.
After that, we all headed back here to Selvadorada for a three-day weekend with my mother Karina.
From L to R: Porsche, me holding Surya, Dao, Hendra holding Joko, and Aree.

Surya (yellow) and Joko (red) are making surprisingly good progress with their skills.
They mostly walk around and either chat with or watch the rest of the family.
When their fun gets low, they ask one of us to Play.  Asking Why is another favorite activity.
By the time we get home, they'll have maxed all their skills except Movement.

Dao: Why do we have to uncover an artifact from a dirt clump, anyway? And where's Porsche?
Aree: It's kinda like "Take Your Kid to Work" Day but Papa's freelance so this is what we do.
We're on our dads' archaeology tables, and Porsche is indoors using one that came with this villa.
Dao: Well, I can't wait to be done so I can try my hand at painting!

Porsche (right): You got any plans for after you become a young adult, Aree?
Aree (left): Yeah, I'm gonna move back in with Mama Lalisa then kick out her, her new hubby, and their son Titus.
Porsche: Papa Hendra's our step-dad, too, you know.
Aree: We three are already good friends with Papa Hendra, though,  but barely acquaintances with Alfredo.
Anyway, Mama did us wrong, Porsche! She resumed her maiden name Chinda without even telling us first!
Plus, she took all of Papa Hiro's money for herself, without sharing any of it with us.
Porsche: I'm with you on that. She couldn't wait to get rid of us! I'll join you on Operation Evict the Chindas yo!

Hendra: When it was just the two of us, the Jungle Bungalow was perfect since it's closer to the Belomisa Trailhead.
But this villa is a short walk to the marketplace, nearby fishing spots, and a large outdoor patio deck with a grand view.
Last weekend and this weekend have been so different!
I'm a family-oriented sim, so it's been great being surrounded by family!

Monday
Hiro: I get a call from the principal after 9:30 am, asking why Porsche's not at school today.
What!? I look around the house and find him chatting  with Hendra. Get to school, you rascal!
What's the point of us helping you with your homework and school project if you arrive to class so late!?!

Hiro: Look at Aree on the right. He's feeling mighty proud of himself for coming home an A student.
Porsche left for school at 9:45 this morning so, naturally, he's still a B student.
Porsche: Technically, our first class doesn't start until 10 am, Papa.
Hiro: Then why are Aree and Dao, who arrived at school on time, A students, while you are not!
Porsche (shuffles off): I'll go do my homework now.

Hiro: I have to put a roof over my vendor table because the snow's making my Perereca Frogs unrecognizable.
As soon as my table's sheltered from the snow, the gold frogs sell right away!
Hey, look on your left! Can you believe my ex Lalisa actually came to my yard sale?
I give her a sales pitch, but she leaves without saying or buying anything.
Was she here to check out our house? She didn't even ask how our kids are doing!

Tuesday
I've been working on our house since early this morning.
Landscaping's impossible; the snow covers up any starter soil I place.
Up to now, I'd been trying to use local furnishings whenever possible, but the gloves come off today.
I replace all the beds and some furniture with pricier versions. Princess Cordelia beds, y'all!
Though I miss the exact moment, our home reaches a value of §350k right before the kids leave for school.
I've completed all my heir requirements!

Today my daughter asks to invite over Kai Charm after school.
What does that mean exactly?
Did she drag home her crush Kai or did he follow her here like a lost puppy?
Anyway, Kai is a descendant of the Glimmerbrook Charms, so we approve!

Wednesday
Hiro: Joko and Surya might have the best bedroom of any Mistura toddlers so far!
They're so adorable! Whenever they approach us, we all drop queues to interact with them.
Their birthday is tomorrow.  Hmmm, maybe it's time for another vacation?

Hendra: Today I shovel snow for the first time in my life.
I grew up in a tropical region so winter in Mt. Komorebi hasn't been easy for me.
Perhaps Hiro will eventually give this house to Porsche, then he and I could move somewhere warmer.
It's hard to blame Aree for wanting to move back to Sulani.

At school in the Principal's office
Porsche: That look suits you, sis.  You should consider going into a career in Education.
Dao: Yeah, right. I'm a Materialistic Art Lover. I'd be happier as an artiste!
Aree: Seriously, though, this school has no Principal.  Does that mean no Prom on Friday?
I mean, not that I have a Prom Date, but Dao might…
Porsche: We'll have to actively attend school again tomorrow to see if a Principal shows up.

Aree: This school is so weird!  See us in class taking notes even though we have no teacher?
The students in the other class aren't even trying. They hang out in the hallways all day.

Aree: After school, the three of us invite Dao's friend Kai along with us to ThrifTea.
Long story short, Porsche and I rizz up these two beautiful ladies, make promposals, and ask them to Prom. Yes!
My date is the lovely Sakura Ota (left), who's Proper and Active.
Porsche: My date is the gorgeous Hollie LeBlanc (right), who's an Adventurous Foodie redhead.

Thursday
Dao: Oh happy day! We arrive at school to find the new Principal standing in front of the school.
Porsche: Welcome to Copperdale High School, Mr. Principal!
Aree: Yes, welcome! Does this mean you will host Prom this Saturday?
Principal (Coyote Anderson): Stop glaring at me, Aree! I came as soon as I could!
Aree: Here you are and yet Prom Night doesn't show up on our calendar!

Margaret Collette: Listen, Porsche. I just dropped in to invite you to Prom as friends. Well?
Porsche: I'm so sorry, Margaret, but I've already got a Prom Date.
Margaret: Awww, you do? I should've asked you sooner.
Porsche: What are your traits again?
Margaret: I'm a Good, Self-Absorbed spellcaster. I'm one of the Glimmerbrook Collettes!
Well, let's hang out another time, boyo!

Dao (whispers to Aree): I never knew Porsche was such a ladies' man!  And he has a redhead fetish!
Aree: Oh, please! Two redheads don't make a fetish! They're both lovely girls, though.
Margaret's prettier and has an Ancient Bloodline, but Hollie's traits are a better match for Porsche.

Aree: Just then, Ezra Moonstrider strolls in and invites me to Prom. Oh no, no, no!
When I met him yesterday at ThrifTea, I was initially more interested in Ezra than in Sakura.
But then I learned Ezra's a Gloomy Perfectionist. What kind of personality is that!?
Also, Ezra didn't seem that into me, so I asked Sakura to Prom instead.

Aree: When I see him sitting at our teacher's desk, looking alL sad, I of course get a major crush on him.
What should I do?
(Also, check out our new teacher's drip. Crazy, right?)

When class ends and Ezra leaves the classroom, I chase after him.
I invite him to Prom but he rejects me then walks off. Huh!
Sending Porsche to chat with Ezra so he won't leave school, I start crafting a second Promposal.
I throw caution to the winds! Sakura and I share no special sentiments, but Ezra came here to invite me!

As I chase after Ezra with my Promposal sign, I run past a student dying from a locker stink bomb!
NO! Not in the same room where Porsche has been chatting with Ezra!
Talk about mood killers!

Aree: On the left, heroic Porsche gives a Death Flower to the Grim Reaper, who brings the student back to life.
On the right, I'm trying to persuade Ezra to kiss me after he accepted my Promposal.
The wall blocks off the sight of the student dying and reviving, but Ezra gets distracted by Grim's vibes anyway.

Aree: Hey, I believe you owe me a kiss!
Grim: Are you kidding me? How do you figure?
Aree: My Prom Date was ready for our First Kiss until you arrived with your spooky vibes and deep voice!
Then he got weirded out and left.
Grim: Well, I guess you could kiss my hands…  (I mean, he's just a teen, so hand kissing's okay, right?)
Aree (to himself): Wow, Grim's such a pushover, although he's not really my type.

Aree: So, shall we exchange numbers?
Grim: Well, my phone's mainly for Underworld HQ to contact me, so you must never call me!
I'm a busy Reaper, if you haven't figured that out yet!
Aree: Got it.  I can text you but won't ever call you. (I'm not even seriously interested in Grim, anyway.)

Watcher: I'd fully intended for this update to cover the entire Week 58.
But it got hijacked by Prom shenanigans.
Porsche simply let Margaret Collecte's prom invite go.
But when Aree crushed on Ezra, he simply HAD to pursue Ezra.
Not sure what happened with Grim. I was just fooling around, not thinking Grim would actually let Aree kiss his hands, lol.

Progress: Middle of Week 58
Residence: 2-5-1 Wakaba-mori, Wakaba (Mt. Komorebi)

Notes
*Making money: Despite completing his requirements, Hiro will continue making money via the same means.
That is, he'll earn income from gardening, selling Omiscan treasure and artifacts, and working with the Artifacts Association.
I think it's also fine for the rest of the family to pitch in with painting and other activities.
Unlike Lalisa, Hiro & Hendra wish to provide each child with a sufficient nest egg when they move out.

*Prom dates: I like the selection of sims the Mistura teens have met up with.
I don't recall how Dao met Kai Charm, but she asked to invite him home after high school on Monday.
Hollie LeBlanc is descended from a sim I added to the Mistura simverse generations ago.
Sakura Ota is a newly-spawned sim.
Ezra Moonstrider is descended from the Moonstriders of Strangerville, whose ancestors were added to the simverse in Gen3.
Kai Charm and Ezra are both Ancient-Bloodline spellcasters, but Hollie and Sakura are non-occult sims.
Haha, I like both Sakura and Ezra. What to do, what to do.  *wrings hands
It doesn't really matter who Aree chooses, though, since he's not the next heir. Who would you choose?

Congrats to Hiro on completing his requirements. Its been a bumpy road for him to travel but hes got there. Well done!

Kai - a Charm but without that nose! Very nice.

I know you like spellcasters and Ezra is not bad, looks-wise, but that perpetual Gloomy mouth makes Sakura the hands-down winner for me!

Lalisa, not letting her 3 have any of her money from Hiro, has lost any residual support from me. I'm fully on board with project oust-that-spouse!

I thought Hiro would struggle more to complete Mansion Baron but it didn't take him that long to bring over his Sulani kids and build/furnish a Manion Baron-worthy residence.
The Misturas are on their ninth generation so the Charms have also had lots of time to breed out the nose, hehe.

It was a hard decision choosing between the pretty Sakura and the gloomy Ezra.
I agree with you that Sakura is the more attractive sim, but I thought I'd let Aree follow his heart.
I'll be saving her to MyLibrary for another occasion, though.
In Ezra's defense, he was frowning because he came to invite Aree to Prom and not as friends, but Aree shut him down.
So he was feeling down about the rejection. When he's not frowning, he's got very uniquely delicate facial features.
I haven't seen another sim who resembles him in the Mishmash simverse so far.

When I checked the Sulani kids' relationship with Lalisa's new husband, I was surprised that their friendship wasn't even 5% of the friendship bar.
They lived together for around 10 days, so I thought their relationship would naturally grow even though the household was no longer active.
Hendra has lots of love to share as a family-oriented sim and he's very close to the Sulani kids, which is nice for the whole household.

Haha, that Sulani house is too nice to let Lalisa and her husband whatzis-name have it!

8.58b: Don't Keep Us Waiting!

Hiro: No household portrait this time because we're plunging right back into the week.
The big news this week is that I completed my last requirement on Tuesday morning.
Yes, our home is now worth over §350,000!

Thursday, Week 58 (early winter)
Hiro: Where have the three of you been? Did you forget that today's the toddlers' birthday?
Dao Sorry, Papa! I had to serve detention after school, so Porsche and Aree waited for me.
Aree: *coughs
Hiro: Papa Hendra got tired of waiting and has gone on a space mission.
Aree: No problem! I can help Surya blow out his candles.

Hendra: The twins age up very nicely!
Maybe when they're teens I can take them to visit my homeland.
Oh, I never told you? I'm from the Morensong neighborhood of Tomarang.
No, I never met Hiro's ex Lalisa until I moved to Sulani for the fishing.

Anyway, Joko loves the Outdoors and Surya is Good. Aren't they handsome?

Yuki: Thanks for saving my wife Alexandra's life tonight, my brother!
Hiro: Don't mention it, Yuki! My sales area is constantly evolving.
When I noticed Alexandra turn blue earlier, I quickly placed a space heater.
Yuki: Hey, we live just across the street. When you gonna invite us over?

Friday
Despite last night's freezing weather, today is surprisingly balmy.
In fact, the twins are the first to fish in our pond.

Aree: Thanks for mentoring me, Papa! You're the best!
It's so easy to forget how slow leveling Logic is without a mentor!
Hiro: Well, I can't be mentoring everybody all day long.
Porsche: We get it, Papa. Later, Aree will mentor me in Logic, then I'll mentor Papa Hendra.

Hendra: I feel like I'm starting to burn out so I spend hours in our home hot springs.
Unlike Hiro, I haven't maxed out lots of skills so I'm not in great demand as a mentor.
But the kids learn skills faster anyway because they’ve been raised as top-notch this and top-notch that.
Oh well. I'm not going to feel guilty about being less useful. I do the very best that I can!

Aree: After the kids return from scouts, we leave for Desert Bloom Park for fishing and chess.
I invite Sakura Ota to meet me there so I can uninvite her to Prom.
Huh, I'd forgotten how pretty she is and almost change my mind.  But it has to be done. I've uninvited her.
(Hmmm, I didn't ask her to just be friends. Maybe she'll want to be Woohoo Partners?)

Aree: Next, I mentor Porsche while he plays chess.
Papas Hiro and Hendra mentor the twins while they fish.
This is such a great (warm) park!

Saturday
Joko (left): Ugh, that scouting meeting was so boring! But we only have two more badges left!
Surya (right): Yeah, but If we pull an all-nighter, we'll be Llamacorns before tomorrow's meeting!
Joko: Only two more hours until Prom supposedly starts.  Shall we read to finish Scholarly Aptitude?
Surya: Great idea! *high fives

Dao: At just past 6 o'clock, I get a phone call from my crush Kai.
And he confesses that he has a crush on me!
I'm beyond happy that my feelings for Kai aren't one-sided!
We can figure out a good date spot next week.

Porsche: When we arrive at the Prom venue, our dates are already there!
We do a group dance but we don't really care about the Prom goals.
We've got more important things to do!

Porsche: Ezra is so elegant. He looks like an aristocrat.
That's why we all vote for him as Prom Royalty.
I guess Aree made a final choice between Ezra and Sakura, because he asks Ezra to be his boyfriend tonight.

Feeling confident after Kai's phone earlier this evening, Dao swoops in for a First Kiss.
Aree and Dao are already BFFs with their boyfriends.
But my relationship with Hollie's a little rocky. We're barely good friends.
The trouble started when Margaret Collette came up to me at Prom to chat...and chat and chat.

Porsche: It's not like that, baby girl! Margaret's the one who initiated our convo, not me!
Remember I told you she invited me to Prom after I asked you, but I rejected her invite?
Hollie: Well, you shoulda accepted her invite.
Then it woulda been HER sitting around, watching her date chatting with another girl all night! *fumes

Porsche: it's no surprise that Ezra's chosen as Prom Royalty. The crown really suits him, Aree.
Aree: But how did Margaret Collette become Prom Jester?
Hollie: Confess, Porsche! You voted for her, didn't you?
Porsche: Not me, I swear! We were all too busy to vote for Prom Jester.
Hollie: Yeah, I saw you "being busy," Porsche. *glares

Aree: Ezra and I take a romantic shot in the Photo Booth.
I'm surprised that I'm wearing facial piercings and don't like our photo at all.
But before we can take another shot, Ezra whips out his phone and…

Dao: Wow, you're inviting me to an after-party, Ezra?
I never pegged you for the sociable type.
Let's see, who shall I bring along besides, of course, my brothers and Hollie…

Dao: Oh look! Sakura shows up as an option!
Should I invite her to cramp Aree's style at the pier?
Nah, that would be mean.  Funny, but mean.

At Plumbite Pier
Porsche: Since I'm in the doghouse with Hollie, Dao and Aree let me take the Cuddle Carts.
I discover she's a hopeless romantic and she understands how much I like her and only her.
We're officially an item now, thank the Fates!

Porsche: Haha, looks like Aree finally got that kiss from Ezra!

Aree: Hey, isn't that Dao and Kai up there in the Ferris Wheel? Are those fireworks…
Porsche (sighs): I hope those two are being careful and "safe."
I'd hate to have to duel Kai to defend our sister's honor, you know?

Porsche: Why are you phoning me so late, Joko?
Joko: That's my line! It's after 1 am!
Porsche: Well, yeah, we're at an after-party at Plumbite Pier.
Joko: But Surya and I need to craft six drawings to earn our last scout badge.
You need to come home right now!
And don't think, just cuz we were toddlers, we don't know how long you made us wait on our last birthday!

Progress: End of Week 58
Residence: 2-5-1 Wakabamori, Wakaba (Mt. Komorebi)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Notes
*Self-discovery traits: So far, it seems the Mistura spouses always get "better" traits than the heirs.

*Playing a full household: This has been a difficult household to play with sims at 3 different life stages.
Also, Hiro loves his family so much that, if I don't constantly watch him, he abandons his in-progress yard sale.
I later find him indoors chatting with Hendra or his children, ignoring the customers waiting in front of his vendor table.
I'm not sure I want to play all three teens until they age up to Yas in the active household.

Congrats on completing Mansion Baron and finishing Hiro's requirements!
I'm so glad the Principal showed up - the drama of the prom invites and the big night was great!
Dao and Kai really lit up the skies. And despite all the drama, Porsche and Aree both ended up with the partners they really wanted.

Looking forward the Oust-the-Spouse project!

Haha, it was so weird that the high school had no Principal nor teachers on the first day the teens attended high school (Wednesday).
Though all three showed up on Wednesday, they weren't dressed in school-appropriate clothing.
Even at Prom, they showed up in odd clothing, with the Principal hosting the award ceremony in that orange and white sweatshirt.

Considering the Sulani kids don't include the next heir, their Prom drama was oddly engaging and I got rather carried away by it all, emotional creature than I am, LOL!
I do love Judi's Oust-the-(Ex-)Spouse coinage! We are all plotting and conniving to make that happen!

The next heir and his twin will be teens in another two weeks.  On New Year's Eve, in fact.  I can't wait!

Poor Hiro, torn between his desire to earn enough to give all his kids a solid financial start and actually spend time with them while he can. I bet the kids value the latter more so he's choosing the right path.

Congrats to all the teens, securing their loves. I'm glad you enjoyed Prom, full of drama and hormones. It sometimes seems like a bit of a slog.

The children are good looking.  I am looking forward to their teen time  :)
