8.51: Infatuated

Sunday, Week 51  (late spring)
Hiroki: Look at me, launching my own generation even though I'm still living at home!
Well, not much happened last week.
Since I'm Adventurous, I decided to complete the fish collection so I spent lots of time fishing.
Then Friday, we aged up to teens. I'm Goal Oriented along with Yuki, but not Stella.
From L to R: My twin Yuki, Papa Kazuma, Great-Grandpa Daichi, Mama Karina, Stella, and me.

Hiro: You're probably wondering whether we moved to Sulani, right?
But no, we're only visiting Sulani we're done with all our prep for tomorrow.
We're visiting the Pries--you remember the twins Isaiah and Greta  who came to our slumber party?
Isaiah's my bestie and his twin Greta is my bracelet buddy.

Stella: I crush hard on Isaiah the instant I see him.
Hmmm, I think I'll stick around the house instead of hanging out with my brothers.

Hiro: Papa immediately looks for an Aqua-Zip.
You'd never guess but it's his first time riding an Aqua-Zip.
He spends hours zipping around on it like a boss.

Hiro: Of course, you and I go fishing!
Yuki: Of course, we do.  We're twins!
Hiroki: I add five new Sulani fish to my collection, but you caught four others that I didn't.
Yuki: too bad we can't have a pond at our penthouse or I could stock the pond with my fish for you.

Monday
Hiroki: Our first day of high school!
I introduce myself to the Principal and check his age.
Yep, we'll be fine for the next two Prom Nights.

Instead of learning about Copperdale High from the Principal, Yuki gets distracted by a pretty face.
Looks like he's going to follow that sim.

But when he introduces himself, the other sim replies in a deep voice.
Oh, it's a guy! His name's Elijah Bjergsen.
And what's worse, he's our Chess Team Rival!
Watcher: Elijah had me fooled, too!

Tuesday
Daichi: Isn't there anything more exciting to do while the kids are at school?
Karina: What? You don't like playing…whatever this game is called?
Kazuma: I'm with Daichi. This is boring! Let's go to GeekCon!
Daichi: I think we should be here when the twins are ready to leave for Chess Club.
Kazuma: What if we dance a bit before the kids return?

Kazuma: Whoa, Karina! Where'd you learn to dance like that?
Karina: I realized just now that I can dance the Rumbasim.
Kazuma: My Selvadoradian Culture is Level 3. Why can't I do that dance?
Karina: I think you need to be Level 4.
Kazuma: *speeds off to Britechester to take a skill class in Selvadoradian Culture

Stella: Grandma Olivia phones to ask me to go clubbing with her. Good thing I say no.
Soon after, Isaiah visits us for the first time ever! (That slumber party doesn't count!)
No, we weren't just messing around in the closet!
Isaiah aged up to a teen with cc hair, so Watcher has me change it.
I think he's cuter with this softer hairstyle, don't you?

I ask Isaiah to stargaze but he must not have heard, because he heads for the elevator.
Chasing (shamelessly?) after him, I ask him again to stargaze at the front of our building.
It could've been a romantic moment, except that wrestler weirdo wouldn't go away.

Wednesday
Stella: To my surprise, Isaiah shows up again this morning.
Of course, I accept when he asks me to Prom as friends.
The "as friends" bit disappoints, but we're besties--I'm moving us up to the next level real soon!
My brothers have been too busy to meet anyone special!

Hiro: Today's the Spring Equinox holiday and we all have the day off.
Isaiah insists we visit him in Sulani where he lives right near the best fishing spot on the islands.
Yuki and I both become Angling Aces today, but I'm still missing six more Sulani fish.

Thursday
Hiro: Stella's been gloating over being the only one with a Prom Date.
So, after Chess Club, we finish our homework then head to ThrifTea in Copperdale.
ThrifTea is bumpin' tonight!

Yuki: I think Alexandra is the cutest sim in the place!
And I like that she's a Creative Perfectionist.
We sit and chat, I crush hard on her, then I ask her to Prom as friends.
Baby steps, right?

Stella: Before you say anything, Hiro, Tucker has three things going for him.
(1) Tucker Drake isn't anywhere on our family tree.
(2) Tucker's a Self-Assured Romantic, while Isaiah's a Foodie Cat-Lover.
(3) Tucker and I have Good Compatibility, my compatibility with Isaiah is neutral.
I've got crushes on both of them but am already going to Prom with Isaiah.
Hiro: Bbbutttt, Isaiah lives near that fishing spot! Stella, how could you?

Hiro: Yuki only crushes on Alexandra after inviting her to Prom.
But me?  I crush on Lalisa from the moment our eyes meet.
She's a Materialistic Snob and I'm an Adventurous Overachiever, which may not seem a good match.
Still, our compatibility's off the charts!

I'm not Outgoing like my brother Yuki and hesitate to ask Lalisa to Prom.
We only just met this evening.  Maybe she's interested in someone already?
I work up my nerve and ask Lalisa to Prom as friends.
Clutched it!  And I love her enthusiastic reply!

Friday
Yuki: Hiro and I will surely become Chess Team Captains on Monday or Tuesday.
So it's time I join the Simfluencer career.
My daily task involves uploading a head shot to my online bio.
Not a professional-looking shot at all, but I look good!

Saturday
Hiro: Lalisa phones me at 8:15 am to ask me out to Von Haunt Estate in Windenburg.
She must really like me to want to see me again so soon!
Checking her profile, I see she doesn't have a crush on me but she adores me. I'll take it!
The Von Haunt Estate isn't a great date spot, so I invite her on a second date.

The Villa Bovine doesn't offer great brunch fare.
But formal dress is required which I thought would appeal to Lalisa's snobby side.
Before our (gold!) date ends, I ask her to be my girlfriend.
You think I moved too quickly, don't you?  But when it feels right, it feels right!

At Prom, our dates don't show up, perhaps because they don't attend Copperdale High?
After waiting 30 minutes, we phone them to invite them to the Auditorium.
Lisa arrives right away.  I'm head over heels for Lalisa.  Or is it just a teen infatuation?

Yuki's date Alexandra arrives about a half hour later.
She looks classy in her blue dress.
Stella's understandably upset for being stood up by Isaiah.
In fact, he does arrive but not until close to 10 pm.

That's when the award ceremony starts, though.
Which is why there's no photo of Stella and Isaiah together. Sorry, Stella!
Stella tries to put together an after-party, but I'm exhausted!
Another day, I'll take Lalisa to the pier so we can use the Photo Booth.

*Pier Perfection (30x20): "Pier Perfection" by mikaylamadison.
This is the 2-bd/2-bth house where the Pries lives.
It's a lovely house, perfect for a couple with an infant.

*"Alexandra & Tucker Drake" by Loyael.  Two YA sims that I aged down to teens.
    Alexandra Takada: Perfectionist, Creative (Ambitious)
    Tucker Drake: Self-Assured, Romantic (Bro)
*"Base Female Sim" by Gaming Twenty: a bald YA sim in her underwear, aged down to a teen.
To avoid confusion, I renamed her from Alexandrea Mello to Lalisa Chinda.
    Original traits: Snob, Materialistic (Romantic)

Progress: End of Week 51
Residence: 1 Torendi Tower, Fashion District (San Myshuno)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Notes
*Ask about Career: Every teen asked about their career replies they're a Copperdale High student.
This is so misleading! Only the students who take classes there are actually Copperdale High students.
The other teens don't attend classes, won't show up Prom unless invited, and don't join after-school clubs (besides Scouts).
Also, Prom Dates who don't attend Copperdale High tend to require a phone call to come to Prom. Ugh!

ThrifTea seems to be a great place to meet other teens but I do wonder why there's a daily suggestion to go there, especially first thing in the morning.

How convenient that Yuki and Stella are keen on a brother/sister combo  ;) Great finds on the gallery.

I found with the Sulani fish that, if you let the endangered ones free they don't complete on the collections tab so there's a moral dilemma to be decided. Fishers irl would count it as a "catch" ...

I love the shot of Kazuma staring at Karina's rhumbasim move. Hilarious!

Haha, that daily reminder to visit ThifTea gets annoying, but it does attract lots of teens.
I've tried in various challenges to place a Bowling Alley then add the Teen Neighborhood trait, but it never draws the teens like ThrifTea does.
When Hiro's mom Karina was a teen, seeing her crush Juniper Adams working there was a hoot!

Though you couldn't tell from that single screenshot of Tucker Drake, he isn't the brother of Alexandra Takada who is obviously East Asian.
Their creator gave them the household name of "Emily & Tucker Drake" because her surname wouldn't fit, I guess.
I was hoping Yuki would like Emily. Didn't expect Stella to crush on Tucker, too. haha.

Yes, I knew that about Sulani's endangered fish. One of my Not So Berry sims caught the complete fish collection.
But Hiro only needs to catch each endangered species once and can release subsequent fish of the same species.  It's for science!

I'm glad you liked that rumbasim shot! I had too many screenshots and took it out at one point.
But the way Kazuma watched as Karina danced was too funny not to share.

Isaiah is cute, but so is Tucker! Good thing there's another Prom coming! Maybe Stella can go with Tucker next time and hopefully he'll be there for the whole prom.
As for Lalisa and Alexandra - both are very attractive! Big win there!

I think there was a missed opportunity with the HSY pack not doing a better job on the teens - who attends school and who doesn't, and how the ones who don't are handled. I know there's a mod that lets you have more teens in Copperdale High School and I think you can choose the students, but I haven't tried it.

As cute as Isaiah is, he's very distantly related to Erwin Pries, founder of my Power of 10 Dynasty, due to some off-camera hanky-panky by a Mishmash Pries. *coughs
Stella is no doubt eager for another Prom, but not their Watcher.

Regarding that mod, I watched James Turner use a similar mod in his Discover University Let's Play years ago, allowing him to move all his sim's friends from high school into the same dorm.
I wonder how the game chooses which of the simverse's teens will actively attend Copperdale High.

8.52: When Life Gives You Limes

Sunday, Week 52  (early summer)
Hiro: Yes, I'm still living at home but not for much longer! Let's see, what happened last week….
Stella was asked by her crush Isaiah Pries to Prom, and then she crushed on a new guy Tucker, too.
Yuki and I met our "girffriends-to-be" at ThrifTea and asked them to Prom as friends.
Besides that, of course, Yuki and I did a lot of fishing.
From L to R: Yuki, Papa Kazuma, Great-Grandpa Daichi, Mama Karina (Gen7 heir), Stella, and me.

Today's Sunday and I'm dying to go out somewhere but I've been neglecting my magic studies.
Fine. I spend the morning reading the Acolyte and Adept magic tomes we have at home.
Then, after a quick visit to the Magic HQ, I'm off to do whatever I want for the rest of the day!
(In fact, I took me until 8 pm to finish reading those magic tomes!)

Daichi Stella, why don't you try to find a hobby you enjoy, dear?
Stella: But I'm a Lazy sim!
Daichi: We're all aware of that, but you can't spend all day doing nothing but asking grownups for advice!
Stella: Eh, I'm just a spare! I don't need to become a super sim!
Daichi: Yes, but look at Yuki! He's also a spare but he's planning of eventually buying a house of his own!
Of course, you can always live at home.  Your parents would love that!

Monday
Hiro: I used to think that, after earning an A, active school attendance was pointless.
I've since learned that, depending on my tasks, it gives me four extra hours to get things done.
Two hours before class and another two hours at lunchtime.
Here, I'm on my laptop writing a work-related Rare Product Review on the Rainbowfish I caught.

Stella: Congrats to you and Hiro on becoming Highfliers this afternoon!
I overheard Hiro and you talking about moving out. What about me? I'll never marry if I stay here!
Uncle Daizen FINALLY married his childhood friend Edith Delgado, but Uncle Oliver's still single!
Yuki: I'm sure he plans to talk to you about that.
Hiro wants to buy his own house, where you and I can stay until we sort out our futures.
Stella: Well, you and I can still help with bills and with furnishing his new home!

Watcher: Why are elderly bachelorettes stigmatized by the word "spinster," but there is no corresponding word for elderly bachelors?

Tuesday
Stella: Um, why are you dressed like that?
Hiro: Since I need to keep working as a teen, I switched to Manual Labor so I only work weekends.
When I move out, my household becomes the active household. You're coming with me and Yuki, right?
Stella: I thought you'd never ask! I've been so worried that I'd never have my own family!
Hiro (changes the subject): Well, whaddya know? I'm Chopstick Savvy like Yuki!

Hiro: I'm out back crafting violins on the woodworking table.
When I take a break for lunch, I find my parents like this!
So this is what my parents do while we kids are off to school!
After crafting seven violins, I'm ready to go peddle my wars.

Sigh, I should've tested after crafting the first violin!
The violins wouldn't fit into my vendor table's inventory.
They couldn't be sold via Plopsy, either, so I'll sell them from my inventory.
Instead, I sell mostly Sulani treasures and a couple of fish. Total: §22,652.

Wednesday
Early this morning, Yuki and Stella offer payment in kind for temporarily staying with me.
Instead of paying cash, they will each give me six items to sell.
Yuki and I make a quick visit to Granite Falls, then the three of us spend all day crafting.
Yuki gives me his six priciest camping mascots, and Stella gives me her six priciest paintings.

Thursday
Hiro: I come to the park at an ungodly hour to start my yard sales.
Besides Yuki's six mascots, I've brought 11 of my own.
Who will buy the very last camping mascot? Ah, thanks so much, Nathaniel Ember!
With total sales of §239,536, I am definitely ready to move out.

We'd been quietly cleaning out our inventories over the past few days..
So packing up means mostly cleaning out the grownups' inventories and the household inventory.
Does my new house look familiar?  It should!
It's the third-generation StrangerVille house but with a completely revamped exterior.
This lot is larger than the StrangerVille Overlook lot, so I had all three bedrooms enlarged, too.
W: For comparison, I've added images of the StrangerVille house in the next post.

The deck is larger and there's even a small sunbathing back at a lower level.
The deck's still pretty bare and I want to redo the interior décor from desert style to tropical!
*Honk! Honk!
You hear that, guys? The moving van's here from the airport.  That was super fast!

Stella: Ugh, what's all this junk?
Hiro: No, it's not junk!  It's legacy stuff, like magic tomes, my fish collection, and collectibles we found.
Everything goes into the five labelled boxes: Home, Kids, Garden, Magic, and Collectibles
I have the contents of the Collectibles and Kids boxes in my inventory, so I'll unpack those.

Hiro: Stella, you have the Garden box stuff, so you can start planting the garden.
Srtella (whines): But I'm a Lazy sim…
Hiro: The sooner we get everything unpacked and planted, the sooner we can visit our crushes!
But I guess Stella doesn't want to come with us, eh, Yuki?
Yuki (chuckles): I guess she doesn't like Tucker as much as we thought she did…
Stella: *runs off to plant

Later in Copperdale...
Lalisa: It's you! You haven't phoned or texted me since Prom last Saturday. What happened?
Hiro: We'd been saving money to move to Sulani today. We came here as soon as we finished unpacking.
Lalisa: Come on in. I'm so happy to see you, Hiro! I'm sure my roomies feel the same about your siblings!

Alexandra: Why haven't you contacted me? It's been almost a week yo!
Yuki: I've been working hard so that you can live in the house of your dreams. Would you like that?
Alexandra: With you, yes!
Yuki: Meanwhile, I've been thinking about our First Kiss for days! May I?

Stella: I'm so glad to see you, Tucker! I've been so sad for the past few days.
Not even drinking two Potions of Youth helped.  Thing is, I barely knew the sims who died.
Tucker: Uh, I missed you, too, babe. Isn't it about time we kissed?
Stella: Yes.  Also, would you be my boyfriend?

Hiro: So, that's my story, Lalisa. What about you? I wanna know everything about you!
Lalisa: Well, I was born and raised in Koh Sahpa in Tomarang. Alex's been my pen pal since grade school.
Hiro: Wow, you're a long ways from home! Alex? Is that Alexandra's nickname?
Lalisa: Yes. When we finished grade school, she asked me to room with her in Copperdale for high school.
Tucker's a childhood friend of Alex, because their families are friendly or something.

Friday
Hiro: We check on our garden, then invite our Copperdale loves for a vacay in Selvadorada.
I mean, I do need to catch an Armored Catfish, but I can mix fun and duty, right?
Hmmm, looks like Yuki is into more fun than duty!  Lucky dawg!
Anyway, spares have no duties, have they?

Hiro: I thought you were enjoying the Omiscan Baths with Alexandra and Lalisa.
Yuki (shrugs): They got hungry and went back to the villa so I thought I'd join you for some fishing.
What happened to you, anyway?
Hiro: Ugh, I opened a treasure chest and turned into a skeleton. Not so conducive to romancing. *sighs
Yuki: You'll just have to make the best of it, I guess.  Hey, I caught an Armored Catfish!
Hiro: Me, too! Let's go back to the villa then take everyone to the Cantina!

Hiro (to himself): No, Yuki! Stop entertaining my girl while you're shirtless and hunky.
Meanwhile, I'm over here waiting for my skelly state to go away in six more hours.

Oh well, you know how the saying goes, right?
When life gives you limes, make caiprinha! *dances the Rumbasim
Note: Caipirinha is an irresistible Brazilian drink made from cachaça (sugarcane hard liquor), sugar, and lime.

Saturday
Hiro: I'm back from the skeletal state! (That'd be a sad thing if I hadn't invited my girlfriend.)
I ask Lalisa to mess around because I think she wants that, too.
But she looks kinda sad on our way upstairs. Does she not realize how serious I am about us?

Before our vacation ends, I prepare Platanos Fritos (fried plantains) for brunch.
I don't think the six of us should spend time together like this anymore.
Checking everyone's profiles, I learn that Yuki has a crush on Alexandra and Tucker.
Stella has a crush on Tucker, Isaiah, and Alexandra. And I've got a crush on Alexandra but not Lalisa!
This situation's too much for Stella. She asks Tucker to just be friends and keeps her Prom Date with Isaiah.

In fact, Yuki and I also have Prom Dates (as friends) that carried over from last week, despite graduating early.
I want to make a Promposal sign for Lalisa, but I can't. (It's like we're constantly offered early graduation, but then punished for it!)
I and Yuki are again voted Prom Royalty and Prom Jester, respectively, even without having voted.
And Stella pursues her relationship with Isaiah Pries.  Very classy, sis!

Stella: Come here, baby boy. What are you waiting for?
Isaiah: But what about my tux?

Notes
*Hiro's yard sales: My sims threw yard sales with camping mascots in numerous challenges already.
So I wanted Hiro to craft violins instead but the vendor table wouldn't accept them. Oh well.

*Luna Fish: I discovered quite recently (2 Dec) that a new fish can be caught in Moodwood Mill.
So Hiro's added that to his list, increasing the collection to 52+1 fish.

*Ongoing Prom Dates: For first time, I see Prom Dates continue from one week to the next.
Though Hiro, Yuki, and Stella graduated early, their Prom Dates (as friends) carried over to this week.
They could "Uninvite to Prom," but they couldn't craft a new Promposal Sign.
For early graduates, it's a little improvement, I guess.

The StrangerVille House

In case you're curious, here's some shots of the home of the Gen3 heir (Izar) on the StrangerVille Outlook lot.

Front view
This roof platforming has been replaced for the Sulani house by Sulani-appropriate roofing.

Back of the house
The Sulani house has a wider deck on one side and in back.

Floor plan: The front of the house is at the bottom of the screenshot
All three bedrooms were widened for the Sulani house and the pool was deleted.

Those teen crushes! It's not surprising that Lalisa is sad. If I read it right, no-one has a crush on her? And Stella! Crushing on 3 people. Hormones have a lot to answer for. I hope Lalisa doesn't give-up on Hiro.

How frustrating about the violins. I'm guessing it's because they can be played. I was disappointed in my Rivals Dynasty that they could only be displayed on the ground. Irl, like guitars, one would have a special wall hook (a spouse with many such items makes me hyper-aware of that - 6-strings, 12-strings, electric, eukelele, mandoline)

Sapphire Shores is such a lovely lot. I do like the Admiral's Wreck which makes it easy to clean up Mua Pelam, but SS is more fun with pillars out over the water. Your build is great - i can see why you re-used it. It seems counterintuitive to have a sheltered growing space over the water but actually makes so much sense. The lot I downloaded looks lovely but movement around it is labyrinthine!

I'm looking forward to finding out Hiro's other requirements. Just those remaining fish...and then...

Very smart to repurpose the house - it's a great layout, and looks so different with a new facade.

I agree the crushes are a great add to the game, but sometimes go a bit awry.

Loved the screenshot with all the boxes outside - really looks like moving day!

Yes, poor Lalisa! Both Tucker and Alexandra had two of the Mistura siblings crushing on them, whereas Lalisa had nobody because Hiro somehow lost his crush on her. Theirs was a strange vacation.

In my Not So Berry challenge, I downloaded a gallery build which made gameplay so difficult.  It took my sims at least a sim-hour to walk from their bedrooms to the front of the lot, resulting setback in academic or work performance. Hiro's house has a simple, accessible floor plan--nothing fancy but efficient!
Honestly, I prefer Admiral's Wreckage since Sapphire Shores allows neither a pond nor a basement, but Lani St. Taz has better fishing, haha.

As for the sheltered garden, Sapphire Shores consists of more ocean than land, so squeezing a garden into the narrow land strip would've been a hassle.
Also, though unsheltered plants grow faster, it's nice not to have to switch around the plants every season.  And anyway, I always shelter the entire garden whenever the new heir moves out. ;-)

Hiro's life drama has not even begun! mwahahaha

I agree the crushes are a great add to the game, but sometimes go a bit awry.

Loved the screenshot with all the boxes outside - really looks like moving day!

One can never go wrong with a good floor plan! I did spend two evenings looking at residential builds on the Gallery.
But I don't want a build that looks fantastic but results in inefficient gameplay. I mean, what Watcher wants that, right?

Haha, I'm glad you liked the shot with all the boxes. I do use the system of hoarding--uh, I mean, storing--stuff in five boxes:
Home, Kids, Collectibles, Magic, and Garden.  Plus each sim has their own box in their inventory.
But al the boxes have to be emptied before moving or the game tells me the sims don't own the stuff left in boxes anymore.
Such a pain!  But I do love playing in a new house on a new lot in a new town!

Speaking of, I'm looking forward to learning where Jasmines moves to!

8.53: First Comes Love

Sunday, Week 52  (mid-summer)
Hiro: The previous week was so eventful!
Yuki and I became Chopstick Savvy Highfliers, while Stella asked for lots of advice from her caregivers.
They helped me raise money for my house (behind us) in Sulani and we moved there on Thursday.
Lastly, we made our crushes official, me with Lalisa, Yuki with Alex, and Stella dumping Tucker for Isaiah.

Yuki: Congrats on your promotion today, Hiro!
Hero: Thanks.  I forgot all about work yesterday while we were in Selvadorada, hehe.
Stella: Mama phoned to say that Uncle Oliver finally got married.
Yuki: Yeah, but his wife is Evil, Squeamish, and Hates Children.  Isn't he better off single?

Today's the full moon and I've been fishing here since 2 pm.
Watcher's never had a sim catch a Luna Fish before, so we're all super excited.
But as of nearly midnight, I haven't caught a single Luna Fish,
Fine. I'll drink a Moodlet Solver and fish all night until morning.

Monday
At 6 am, we head home to invite Lalisa and Alexandra to move in with us.
I mean, c'mon! Yuki and I are Highfliers, so we can't marry C students, right?
Since I didn't catch a Luna Fish, Watcher offers to shorten the Lunar Cycle.
Instead of the (default) 8-day cycle, it's now 4 days. Next Full Moon's on Thursday! *sighs

I'm fishing from my new canoe today, hoping to catch my remaining three Sulani fish.
My luck's been atrocious.
I finally catch a Swordfish. Can you believe Stella caught 3 Swordfish on Saturday?
It hurts me to catch an endangered species, but I'll make it up to Sulani's environment later..

Stella: If I'm not careful, MCCC will snatch Isaiah from me on his young adult birthday.
That's why we age up early together and get married this morning.
Of course, he picks the most cramped spot to propose.  Still, he is such a sweetheart!
When I tell him that I'll move in with him once I'm pregnant, he replies, "Lead the way!"

Yuki: After checking that she's expecting, Stella sends Isaiah home and finishes her packing.
Once the girls are back from school (still C students), Stella walks to her new home.
She lives at Pier Perfection with the Pries household who are our closest neighbors.

Tuesday
Hiro: Yes, I'd rather be working on my fish collection, but Lalisa's worked really hard on her Nerd Brain aspiration.
She's appalled that our toilets don't have bidets, so I warn her against insta-upgrading them.
Who knows? Maybe she'll decide she enjoys cooking and want to upgrade brand-new kitchen appliances!

Hiro: Lalisa, I know I've not been a great boyfriend, leaving you on your own since you moved in.
I'm trying to complete a requirement--my fish collection--before our young adult birthday.
I'll do everything I can to make you happy. Will you marry me?

Yuki: Of course, I propose to Alex immediately after Hiro proposes to Lalisa.
I'd been planning to propose tomorrow or Thursday, but don't want Alex to feel left out.

Yuki: In fact, since Hiro's always fishing, I spend most of my time mentoring Lalisa in Logic and Handiness.
I probably spend more time with Lalisa than with Alex.
But Alex is such a treasure. She trusts me completely, never showing even a tiny spark of jealousy.

Wednesday
Hiro: In the morning, I catch a Royal Sabrefish and am done with canoe fishing!  Only one more Sulani fish to go!
This collection requirement isn't a great choice for a city boy like me, raised in San Myshuno's Fashion District!
Oh! A friendly dolphin greets me as I place my canoe in inventory,, but decide they don't want to play.

Thursday
Hiro: This was 'sposed to be an early dinner to congratulate Alex and Lalisa on becoming A students.
Alex: All because we were able to live with you guys this week. It's been awesome!
Yuki: Yeah, you two already finished four aspirations each.  So impressive!
Lallisa: Hehe, only the easy aspirations!

Hiro: Hey, folks, why don't we all get married tonight then we can age up tomorrow?
Alex (checks with Yuki): Sounds good to us!
Lalisa: I like the idea, too!
Hiro: Have you two decided where you want to live?

Lalisa: What a lovely wedding venue!
Hiro: If you'd like a formal wedding, we can always renew our wedding vows here later.
Lalisa: Oh, I'd love that!  Let's do it after we get settled and I've met your family.
Hiro: But now, I promise to be yours for ever and always.
Lalisa: Till death do us part!

Alex: We are a perfect match, Yuki! I will love and cherish you forever!
Hiro: You're my first, my last, my everything.
Alex: Oh stop with the Barry White lyrics, you goof!

Watcher note: Yuki and Alex are the more attractive couple.
But I like Hiro's darker complexion and Lalisa's traits match a requirement.

Hiro: Aaarrgh!  What was I thinking? We could've gone out for dinner and gotten married tomorrow!
It's the full moon tonight and I missed an entire day of fishing for the Luna Fish.

Friday
Last night, I fished for about six hours without catching a Luna Fish, but I did catch two Capt. Fishbones.
Behind every cloud is a silver lining?
It's a grand understatement to say that Lalisa's not thrilled by my décor choice.
But I place Capt. Skelly in his own Boneyard Aquarium on the bookcase in the foyer.

And here we are, ready to blow out our candles and become young adults! Our new traits are:
Hiro: Adventurous, Overachiever, Materialistic
Lalisa: Snob, Materialistic, Romantic
Yuki: Vegetarian, Outgoing, Self-Assured
Alexandra: Creative, Perfectionist, Ambitious

As the children's rhyme goes:
Hiro and Lalisa sitting in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G
First comes love, then comes marriage
Then…well, you know the rest.

Yuki: My adorable Alex with her barely-noticeable baby bump!
Alex: Um, did you have to take a photo of me standing next to the toilet?

Hiro: After Yuki and Alex move out, Lalisa and I pay them a visit in their new home.
Their machiya-style home fits five bedrooms and four bathrooms into a 30x20 lot!
Lots of space for a soon-to-be growing family!

Lalisa: Awww, look how cute their Prom photo is!
I bet their kids will be gorgeous!
I'll have to host a toddler playdate later with Alex and Stella's kids!

Lalisa: Yay, my very first insta-upgrade!
Alex tells me they replaced the original stove and fridge with nicer ones.
You take the fridge, Hiro, and I'll upgrade the stove. Then, you can go back to fishing!
Hiro: Sounds like a plan (especially the fishing part)!

Saturday
Hiro: Watcher shortened the Lunar Cycle to 2 days, so today's the Full Moon already.
This morning, I catch my last Sulani fish so we arrive at Moonwood Mills around 2 pm.
Not wanting to impose on Great-Uncle Kage and his family, Lalisa stays at The Moonwood Mills Library.
I guess she'll be fine there. If she's not, it's a quick trot from there to my fishing spot.

Week 54, Sunday
I fish all night until 7 am this morning when the moon phase changes.
No Luna Fish.  I need to renegotiate my fish collection r3equirement with our Watcher.
From Monday, I'll become a father who works 9-5 from Monday to Friday.
My family and career definitely trump catching a Luna Fish!

Watcher: I'm beyond excited to meet Hiro and Lalisa's child(ren)!

Notes
*Luna Fish: I watched a Youtube video of a werewolf catching Luna Fish.
It wasn't even a full moon but the werewolf caught 3 within several hours in broad daylight.
Hiroki definitely doesn't want to become a werewolf! (In fact, I haven't played any werewolves yet.)
We're ready to raise the white flag on the Luna Fish.

* Lalisa & Alex's traits: I aged down these two Gallery sims from YAs to teens.
Their 3rd traits are their original ones: Ambitious (Alex) and Romantic (Lalisa).

*Restaurant glitch: It took 4.5 sim-hours for the 4 sims to sit down for a meal at the Sulani Beach Restaurant.
I've used that restaurant a lot previously and never experienced that problem. The party kept scattering on arrival, so we left and returned several times.
Finally, I temporarily disabled autonomy and managed to get all 4 sims in the party and seated. This must be a glitch related to the latest patch.

*Moving expenses: The three siblings moved to Sulani with around §270k each in their saving accounts.
Their original plan was for Stella and Yuki to move out with §250k each.
But the Pries household already had over §650k in household funds, so Stella only took §150k with her.
Yuki bought a new home for Alex and him, so Hiro gave him §400k in thanks for all Yuki's help during Hiro's (fishing) absence.
Incidentally, Stella didn't need to move back with their parents who welcomed twins last week.

Wow! Gen 8 married and bringing in Gen 9!

I don't know why Hiro is having such trouble catching the Luna fish - wonder if that's some kind of new bug. I know I've had Sims that haven't caught them immediately, but I don't recall having this much difficulty. I remember in my Big Dreams Dynasty Colt ran into (your) Selena fishing in Moonwood Mill, and Selena caught a Luna Fish there as an NPC. Colt caught one also, but not the same day. As I recall, catching them when it isn't a full moon was always possible but less likely, but I thought catching them under a full moon was a near-certainty. Not sure if I'm mis-remembering or if something's changed.

Can't wait to meet what will certainly be a gorgeous Gen 9 - although it's a little sad to know we're getting closer to the end . . . ❤️

I've never tried for the luna fish so good luck.

Lalisa does not look happy to meet a werewolf in the library. That's a brilliant shot. I was surprised when you said Yuki and Alex were the cuter couple. I think they're all gorgeous and will have lovely children. Looking forward to the next update.

How hilarious that "my" Selena randomly caught a Luna Fish as an NPC!
Hiro's probably spent over 48 hours trying for that fish without success.  I've even fiddled around with the Lunar Cycle so that full moons occur more frequently but no lucki
I'd never tried catching that fish so I can't say whether anything's changed but Hiro's had maxed Fishing for weeks now and has managed to catch every other fish...

You probably don't follow Asian pop boy/girl bands, but Lalisa is named after the Thai singer/dancer Lalisa Manobal, member of the popular kpop girl band Black Pink.
I've been occasionally watching T-pop (Thai pop) music vids lately for inspiration in naming the Gen9 kids. :D

As for my legacy ending at Gen10, I'm having trouble deciding between two sets of requirements for Gen10 so I just might play into Gen11, haha.
