I loved when Cher and the crew were shaming Jasmine when she was trying to do baby bump poses and stuff!!  I also just kind of adore Cher.  She's lovely and you write her as just a really cool, loving, and supportive friend.  And yes, it is therefore that much less of a surprise that I'm still shipping Kraham  ;=)
The housekeeper bit was a lovely touch, but I was surprised when Tiva threw herself out there as the obvious choice.  I thought for sure some charming beauty with all the right traits would suddenly show up and Graham would slowly fall in love with her.  Nope!  Instantly rekindling the flame with Tiva and bringing Graham a new brother really shakes up the house dynamic, but in a delightful way  :=)
What a complete shocker when Jasmine showed up at San Sequoia's recreation center.  It was my first visit to the new town with any of my sims.
Yes, Cher is a lovely sim! Her and Marlon's twins should start grade-school soon.
Since you like Cher so much, should Prince throw a sleeping bag in the backyard and invite Cher over for a short stayover?
Marlon would need to stay home with the kids, haha.

It was quite interesting what kind of sims responded to Prince's roommate ad. If it weren't for Prince's last requirement, I rather fancied that Perfectionist Dance Machine in the lavender tank top and handlebar moustache. :D
Yeah, sorry for the abrupt turn of events, but Prince will be an adult in another week! *gasps

I applaud Prince's persistence with the treehouse - he worked hard for those upgrades!
I'm happy to see him with Tiva . . . Jasmine was just a detour that Prince needed to make to get Graham. It was worth it, but I'm glad it's done.
I wonder if Jasmine is really stalking Prince, or if she's heard that Tiva moved in and is stalking Tiva . . .
Great update!

I'm absolutely convinced that the Mistura treehouse is glitched.  So many half-finished attempts and still no slide!
At the San Sequoia Celebration Center, Jasmine was definitely stalking Prince.
Tiva only persuaded Prince to let her and Colby move in during that trip to San Sequoia. :D
I'm curious if Jasmine will continue to show up around Prince.

Jasmine is an Awful personage who will obviously continue to seek the spotlight! Good to see Tiva and Prince connect. Kids, glitched treehouse, it's a fun time.

Who knows what broke in 1.98, but I was able to build the slide without problem before. :/
It is a little thing of my own. I call it "Heart Foam". I shall not publish it. Farewell! Patience, Patience, farewell!

I don't know if it's the latest patch or my mods but my sims cannot complete a project whenever stopping and resuming.
The Lights took 3-4 tries, with progress for the first 3 attempts resetting to zero.
Tiva spent 5 hours on a camping mascot sculpture until she scrapped it and restarted, after which it took the usual 40-minutes.
As long as my sims and finish a project in one session, everything's fine.
Time to check if any of my mods need updating post-patch...

« Reply #110 on: June 03, 2023, 09:16:44 PM »
1.7: We're Vibing!

Sunday, Week 7 (3rd week of summer)
Prince: Tiva, my high school flame, and her son moved in with Graham and me three days ago.
But last night, we moved again from my 40x30 lot to the vacant 50x40 lot next door.
It was a royal pain to move again, but our household will make good use of all the extra space.
From left to right: Tiva's son Colby, Tiva, me, and my son Graham.

I must be super fertile or something, but remember my "romp" with Tiva on Thursday?
Well, she got pregnant from just that one time.
Sounds familiar, right? Just call me Mr. Shotgun. (You'd think I'd learn by now.)
The good news? As soon as I propose to Tiva, I gain the Loyal trait.

Tiva isn't s spellcaster but she gives birth to boy/girl spellcaster twins.
They both have my violet eyes and pointy ears, too!
I name our firstborn son after Carlos Santana, an artist and guitarist I deeply respect.
Speaking of guitar, I was nominated for an award last week, but who has time for the Starlight Accolades tonight?

Our daughter is named after Sheila E (Escoveda), my long-time band member and a world-renown percussionist.
She appears in most of my music videos and concert tours.
You might have seen her music video for "The Glamorous Life."

Monday
Graham: Wow, baby stuff has taken over our house!
Prince: It couldn't be helped. We're staying in this little house until the twins start grade school. How you doing?
Graham: Well, I finished all the basic aspirations except making 3 child friends for Social Butterfly.
I want to do that and the slumber party stuff with Colby.
Prince: That's a great idea, son.

Prince: Saturday, I opened separate Premium Saving Accounts for Graham and Colby.
The boys are old enough to harvest the garden now, so I've set their accounts up for Direct Deposit.
They can alternate days gathering harvestables before school.
Colby should be done with Scouts later today. He only needs his Keep Fit and Scholarly Aptitude badges.

I still earn $10k a day from royalties, even without my own recording studio. I typically release  two new tracks daily.
With the boys doing the harvesting, Tiva and I only need to tend the garden.
So, Tiva wants to start a new side gig based on her Handiness skill.
Ideally, we can live comfortably with each of us working only several hours every day.

The second-generation heir will be either Carlos or Sheila.  This here is Carlos in the bath.
You know how it goes. Watcher will lean on me to choose the child with the best genetic prospects.
One thing for sure, I'm not going to stress over infant milestones this time around.
Tiva's son Colby was a Top-Notch Toddler even without a single infant milestone or the Top-Notch Infant trait.

Tuesday
Tiva's a maker but she's not interested in becoming a Master Maker or in learning fabrication.
Instead, she plans to craft woodworked items to sell on Plopsy.
But she also wants to learn how to do Insta-Upgrades.

GeekCon's happening in San Myshuno today, but we've been building our own rocket ship at home.
I want to upgrade the Treehouse with lights, so we invite Marlon and Cher to help out.

After school, Graham invites over Krista Pries.
According to Watcher, the twins get first dibs when it comes to spouses, so I hope Graham isn't too attached to Krista.
By evening, Graham's made three friends to complete Social Butterfly.
Tiva and I need to choose an evening to host a sleepover for the boys.

Colby earns his remaining scout badge then he also completes Social Butterfly.
He hasn't finished the other three basic aspirations yet, though.
His third friend is most definitely off-limits as marriage material for any member of this household.
That's Stefanie Moon. That's right, the daughter of Octavia Moon and Thorne Bailey!

Wednesday
Today's a holiday so we leave for Granite Falls as soon as the twins fall asleep.
Our primary goal is for Tiva and I to learn the camping mascot schematic.
We don't stay long because, as soon as we leave home, the toddlers wake up.
By the way, I buy a toddler sleeping bag but its Energy rating is 3, similar to the toddler beds.

Nobody talk to me! I need to finish the Treehouse Lights upgrade in one session.
Each time I discontinue and resume the upgrade, my progress resets. *sighs
Not only that, the Treehouse has the nerve to take my money and upgrade parts each time!
Why nerf taking photos to build friendship when this Treehouse is so annoyingly broken?

Thursday
Carlos was unsure about Mashed Avocado but loves Oatmeal Cereal.
Sheila loves her first baby food: Pumpkin Puree.
Tomorrow, they age up to toddlers and we're not going crazy over last-minute milestones.
So tonight's great timing for the boys' slumber party.

Graham and Colby play the hosts and the guests are Tiva and me, the Pries twins, and Stefanie Moon.
A Tiny Home is definitely not the ideal place for a slumber party.
When Graham asks we guests to set up our sleeping bags, everyone puts down their sleeping backs all over the patio.
It's not like we could all place our sleeping bags indoors.

Graham asks me to exchange friendship bracelets.
Of course, I'd crafted one at the San Sequoia Celebration Center last week.
Colby and Tiva also exchange friendship bracelets.
Come to think of it, the boys should've simply exchanged them with each other.

The boys have reached the Slumber Party Animal's third and last milestone.
Well darn, they'd told stories from their sleeping bags too early.
Okay, you still have time to tell three more stories each!
The gold-medal slumber party gives very nice rewards!
Sleeping bags for toddlers as well as new swatches for children/grown-up sleeping bags.

Friday
I loved how the vertical planters looked in Jasmine Ward's octagonal patio.
When fully upgraded, they have auto-watering and auto-weeding features which are such time-savers!
I added three of them to our home but learn that children can't harvest or tend plants in vertical planters.
It's fine. The boys take turns harvesting the main garden while Tiva and I handle the rest of the garden chores.

Tiva: I'm starting to feel burned out but I can't tell if it's from woodworking or caring for the infants.
Prince has left for work, though, so I take a quick Lavender soak with Soothing Sage incense. Nope, that doesn't help.
I do have some good news! I ship my first camping mascot on Plopsy this afternoon!
Only 11 more mascots left to sell in the first round!

Prince: The twins age up after I'm back from work. They both earn the Top-Notch Infant trait!
Sheila's first with 22 milestones: Firsts/6, Fine Motor/6, Gross Motor/5, and Social/5.
Carlos earns 19 Milestones: Firsts/6, Fine Motor/2, Gross Motor/5, and Social/6.

As toddlers, Carlos begins with Communication 1.8 whereas Sheila begins with Thinking 1.8.
The twins might have learned more if their parents weren't also helping Colby catch up to Graham.
Oh and if Watcher hadn't forgotten to switch the lot type to Tiny Residential on Sunday.

Tiva can't seem to shake her Burnout and, though we buy a new hot tub, refuses to stay in it.
Just forget about helping Colby with his homework for once and deal with your burnout, Tiva!
Finally, Watcher convinces her to buy the Carefree reward.  And poof! No more burnout!

Saturday
Prince: Tiva, your son Colby really likes Sheila.
Tiva: Yes, I noticed that, too. He often wants to socialize with her. It's so cute.

Prince: Colby's friends with both toddlers, but he avoids interacting with Carlos.
Tiva: Well, ever since Carlos became an infant, Colby's been jealous of Carlos.
Prince: Why's he only jealous of Carlos but not of Graham or Sheila?
Tiva: I'll try talking to Colby.

Tiva: Hey, Colby. I see Carlos was being friendly with you earlier.
Colby: That little brat. I gave him a good scare with some mean socials and he cried!
Tiva: How can you treat your little brother like that? He's only a toddler!
Colby: Whatever, I can't help the way I feel.
Tiva: Yes, you can, son! Let's think of ways you can change how you feel toward Colby!

Graham: Hey, look! Dad finally managed to complete the slide upgrade!
Prince: I'm not sure why I couldn't do it before!
But Watcher spent most of the day yesterday updating all her mods.
Graham: Oh, I almost forgot, Dad! Congratulations on completing all your requirements Sunday!

Notes
*Inner Circle: After Prince vacated this lot, I wanted to download a nice house for a small family.
Unfortunately, the Gallery is down (!!!), so I copied Springscape (Oasis Springs) to MyLibrary.
The 30x20 Springscape doesn't really fit 40x30 Inner Circle, but its mid-century style rather fits the neighborhood.

*For you Thorne Bailey fans: Octavia Moon divorced him and kicked him out of the house.
After a week as a homeless sim, he's moved into Calderas Camp in Mua Pel'am, Sulani.
I was hoping MCCC would move him in with Jasmine, but I guess Thorne's keeping his distance, haha.

*Sleeping Bags: The gold-medal slumber party awarded us toddler sleeping bags and new adult swatches.
Every household member now has a sleeping bag in their personal inventory.
As a result, they have the Happy +2 "Rejuvenated (from Camping)" or +1 "Refreshed from Camping" moodlet.
  It's odd, but I don't really mind.

*Infant milestones: In case you're curious, I've listed the twins' infant milestones.
In comparison, Graham actually had more skill gain when aging up to toddler.
Like Graham, the twins didn't live in a Tiny Home as infants (because I forgot to change lot type after they moved)
Gaining milestones depended a lot on which infant Prince was teaching.
Tiva is a much better parent than Jasmine but not nearly as focused on teaching as Prince.
  Carlos learned to:
  Fine Motor (2): Reach, Grab,
Gross Motor (5): Lift head, Roll to Back, Roll to Tummy, Creep, Sit Up
Social (6): Smile, Coo, Laugh, Babble, Blow Raspberry, Blow Kiss
  Sheila learned to:
Fine Motor (5): Reach, Grab, Put Toe in Mouth, Clap, and Pincer Grasp
Gross Motor (5): Lift head, Roll to Back, Roll to Tummy, Creep, and Sit Up
Social (5):  Smile, Coo, Laugh, Babble, and Blow Raspberry

*Sibling jealousy: I've never had a sim with this sentiment before.
I've read that fishing together helps.  I hope so.

The camping mascots must be profitable! And I hope Stefanie ages up well. I like the eye colour. I guess she lives with mom in DSV, not Thorne in Sulalni? (oooh the thought of a dynasty in Sulani. That makes one weak.)

Tiva so picture perfect. A nose Jasmine would be jealous of! Carlos and Sheila will be very attractive. (I'm quite glad Graham is Graham, and not Grahamette. Not sure a Jasmine / Judith Ward daughter is something to be particularly eager for.) On that line of thought, Jasmine must have had that child with Thorne by now?

Female percussionists for the win! Nice update, @oshizu. Yeah, remember Cindy Blackman? She had the huge afro and drummed in the old Lenny Kravitz videos. Lo and behold she marries Carlos Santana.

I'm still shipping Krista and Graham (Kraham for the win!), and it's sad that Stefanie is off limits.  She's a cutie pie!
The twins are just lovely, and I love the naming theme you've taken for this challenge.  And yes, I'm already Team Sheila  ;=)  The naming actually helped with that as I feel that Sheila E is very underappreciated as an artist whereas Carlos Santana gets the attention he rightly deserves.  So yeah, let's give some much deserved love to a pixel person named after Sheila.  I mean, surely Sheila E reads Sims stories, right?   ;=)
Anyway, another lovely update and I can't wait to see what's next for this awesome crew!

Ah - remarrying to someone with a child was a requirement. Well, Tiva fit the bill perfectly! Congrats to Prince for completing his requirements AND the treehouse.

Love both the twins, but Graham won't be the heir? I guess he can relax and enjoy his childhood then.

The GroTo family relationships are all interesting. Both +ve and -ve sentiments can be developed at the drop of a hat! I've had a child resent her parent spending time with a sibling when that particular parent had done most of their childcare.

How lucky that both the twins are spellcasters. I hope Carlos finds a not-yet-discovered love so Graham can have his Krista.
Tiva and Prince are so much better together than Jasmine and . . . . anyone. But it would have been fun if the game had moved Thorne in with her.
Stephanie is pretty cute, despite her parents.
Another great update!

I'm also looking forward to Stefanie Moon's teen years and intend to age her up together with Graham, Colby, and Marcel & Krista Pries.
They can all be teens together!  And yes, Stefanie lives with Octavia in DSV. Because I'm a mean Watcher, I evicted Thorne from Calderas Camp (Sulani), hoping he'd seek shelter under Jasmine's umbrella. Instead, he moved to Mt. Komorebi, so I evicted him again. MCCC really doesn't want him and Jasmine and their kids under one roof.
And yes, Jasmine's offspring with Thorne are toddlers as of Week 8 in my game. I've yet to take a look at them yet, but I'll include a screenshot in my next update.
As for Tiva, I created her in CAS for a different challenge that I never completed. I was aiming for a Native American look but wasn't at all successful except for maybe her braids? She is a lovely sim, though.

As for Carlos Santana, I was shocked to learn that the Rolling Stone magazine rated him #15 on its list of greatest guitarists while Prince didn't even make the list.
Talk about underrated! But yes, naming the twins after musicians around Prince makes my life easier. I loved Sheila E's Glamorous Life music video!
Back in the day, my friends and I visited a salsa club in Berkeley that was rumored to by owned by Sheila's father, an even more illustrious percussion, if I recall correctly.

Ah - remarrying to someone with a child was a requirement. Well, Tiva fit the bill perfectly! Congrats to Prince for completing his requirements AND the treehouse.

The GroTo family relationships are all interesting. Both +ve and -ve sentiments can be developed at the drop of a hat! I've had a child resent her parent spending time with a sibling when that particular parent had done most of their childcare.
When I started this challenge, I used MCCC to set Tiva to "Never Marry," so she could get pregnant but remain single.
Oddly, MCCC aggressively married off nearly all of my YA sims during the first week of my challenge, but then refuses to marry Thorne & Jasmine, LOL!
No, Graham won't be heir. Choosing one of the twins as the next heir will make Prince's reign longer which I don't mind at all.
You mentioned the child who resented their parent for spending time with another sibling.  Was that also the Sibling Jealousy sentiment?
Or did it have another name?

The year RS released its list without mention of Prince in 2004, Prince participated in a group tribute to George Harrison's posthumous induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004). He played an outrageous guitar solo to My Guitar Gently Weeps. How could Rolling Stone not revise its list after that?

I love your real-life observations, such as Prince not being on the RS list. That caught my attention. Most stories do not grab my attention, to be honest. This one is near and dear to my heart -- music. And you're doing it in a very creative way.
