Console not opening

I have been trying to figure this out for 2 days now. I took out all of my mods, I don't use any capture programs and have never installed any, I even verified file integrity, and yet still nothing. It's not my keyboard, as it used to work fine. It's just suddenly stopped opening console since the infants update and I'm a little lost on what else it could possibly be. The only thing I can think of now is to completely uninstall and reinstall the game but if that doesn't work I'm completely out of ideas.

However, It maybe worth renaming your current Sims 4 folder to start, - Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4-old.  Launch the game to create a new Sims 4 folder. Test with a new save to see if you can open the cheat console. Quit without saving. If yes, it maybe something within the old folder that got corrupted or it could be the save that got corrupted some how.

If the new folder and other tips don't work, please post over at answers.ea and explain what you've tried to solve the issue.
