Where did my games go??
« on: November 16, 2022, 09:29:22 PM »
Good evening, all.  So, I went in to play my game and it has me starting over like a brand-new game.  I took the mods folder out, same thing happened.  I restarted my computer, same thing.  The only thing I did not do, was uninstall and re-install Origin.  I started to, but do not remember seeing the warning in red about uninstalling, says, "EA games may not function properly".  Is anyone else having this issue.  Thanks.

EA has mentioned they will be retiring the Origin game client around the end of the year and moving people over to the EA App. Which seems to be having a lot of issues installing, playing games, keeping games installed from what I understand.

It sounds like Origin is still installed and working so something you might try looking into if you've got OneDrive is to disable or uninstall it, if you haven't already.

Before doing anything with OneDrive:  Copy your Sims 4 folder back to the C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts folder (right-click the Sims 4 folder and select Copy/Paste)

Then turn off, disable or uninstall OneDrive. This way the game will be able to access your Sims 4 files.

Turn off, disable, or uninstall OneDrive:

It's also been suggested to add the app/game to your exceptions list on your Antivirus program.

Add an exclusion to Windows Security

If the above tips don't help, please post over at answers.ea to see if they can help further. Give as much detail about the issue as possible and mention things you've tried to troubleshoot the issue.

Thank you so much.  I will definitely try these and post what I find.
