Need Help With "The Case Of The Cop Gone Rogue"

I have been stuck on the last part of this investigation for over a week now. This is my second time doing this investigation, the first time I canceled it because i was having the same result. I can not confirm Harry Marks' presence! I have even befriended him and gone on a group tour of City Hall and still not given the option to "confirm". I'm lost on what else I could/should do. Anyone else have/had this problem? How did you get past it? Thanks for your time!

If you want me to, I could go and test it myself, but perhaps it would be time-saving if you described what is it that you're doing exactly and what is going wrong.

I'm on either level 7 or 8 in the investigative career.  I'm at the end of this case and all I have to do is go to City Hall and "Confirm The Criminal's Presence." However, I can't click on it.  When I place my cursor over it, I'm told to come back when Mark's is there! I've been stuck in the same spot for about 2 Sim weeks receiving the same message. I go and check numerous times thoughout the day and night with no luck.  So, I found Marks', befriended him and took him on a tour of City Hall in hopes of having him there so I could "confirm".  I'm still not given the option.  I even invited him over to my house so he could go to work from there in the morning so I could follow him and I still wasn't able to do it! I've only seen two other people with this same situation and they haven't been able to find a way around it.  I hope that I have given enough info, if not, i'll be happy to give more! Thanks

This is a shot in the dark, but could Mark have quit his job?  Or did he age up and retire?  If I remember correctly you have to confirm him while at work.  It has been awhile since I have played the P.I. career, so I may be thinking of a different job.

That's the correct profession! I have no idea, but it's possible that he quit! If so, I don't know what to do because I have to solve the case before I can move on :-(

If you don't mind cheating, try testingcheatsenabled true, shift+click this Marks' and Add to Active Family. See if he still has his job and make sure everything is as supposed to be; Send him to work, and "catch" him. If he doesn't have his job, you can try to get him it, but if he's elder already then you're too late.

Note that you can't remove him from the active family like in TS2, so you'll have to either move him out or kill him after you're done. My personal recommendation is that you just quit that specific case and get another.

I think I may just cancel that investigation! The cheat sounds like a good idea too...So, i may just move him out...Thanks so much for all your help!
