Replacing Either Egypt or One of The Pyramids
« on: October 28, 2022, 12:55:10 PM »
Hi, I just started re-playing a family that I haven't done in a long time. One of the sims had an adventure in Egypt in which the timer for staying there (In Egypt) ended just as he was about to finish the quest. Now it is totally broken. I tried cancelling the quest and restarting, but both the pyramid and the boss' headquarters has already been explored which makes the quest impossible to start or complete. Is there a way to  either reset those adventure locations or replace them or completely replace the pyramid w/an unexplored one?

It was my understanding that WA quests or worlds couldn't be reset, (though there is a possible way below). Some of the quests can be with mods, but not sure about the worlds.  Other than moving to a new town and travel to the WA world from there. Or maybe save lots from a new save and place them back in your home world's Egypt, China or France.

I do want to add some more info, just in case it's useful.

Reset Travel Locations: (How-to)

Sim A traveled to China and went back to the homeworld. Sim B travels to China and wants fresh tombs. If you don't care for Sim A's relationships in China, if you're okay with those friendships or whatever to be gone, this is the easiest way to do it:

  • Close the game.

  •  Go to 'Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves'.

  •  Open your latest save file for this household. The save file looks like a folder.

  •  In there, you'll find a bunch of files. One of them will have the game of the destination world, with an NHD extension / file type.

  •  Delete that NHD file. Make sure you're deleting the one for the destination (example: Egypt, France, China) and not the one for your homeworld. If in doubt, make a backup of the save file / folder before making any changes.

  •  Go back to 'Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3' and delete the cache files.

  •  Load the game, travel to the destination, and you should find that world has gone back to default.

Thanks! I'm going to have to replace the buildings (the home that has the hq and the the one that has the ancient library) that are used in that Morcu quest in addition to the pyramid which I've already done. This is b/c he started the quest and got to the part of hacking the comp, but his timer ran out just before it completed. :(  I have to have him start over now. I'll have to keep a sharper eye out on that timer!
