Ling Dynasty - A Legacy
« on: September 26, 2022, 10:50:05 PM »
I decided to attempt a legacy. I started w/a female I named China Ling and also on the extremely hard start except that I can't make the house a celebrity home b/c I don't have that pack. I started in Windenberg and chose the Villareal lot. I evicted them and bulldozed the house. I started in the winter according to the rules and also bought the statue. I'm not sure why, but I had to add about $200 to her acct to buy the statue which put her at $0. Maybe it was that particular lot? At first I had her crash over at Ulrike and Maake's house and slept on their couch until she could afford to build something. China eventually earned a couple of $k from working as a scientist and built a very modest bedroom/greenhouse combined. She still had to go to the gym for food and a shower. While at the gym, she met J Huntington III. She worked up the relationship w/him and eventually they were married. By that time, the neighborhood stories gave him a toddler and a dog. When he moved in, I brought both w/him. The dog was an elder and so died soon after moving in.  J and China now have a daughter of their own named Akisha. Between selling the plants and painting and their job, the house has gotten a bit bigger and they have about $12k in the bank now. I still need to add a bedroom on, but am holding off until after the Monday bills. China is current at lev 5 in the Scientist career. J is lev 4 in the Tech Guru career. It's not the best career for him, but it pays better for now. Later on, I might change him over to the the athletic career. Here are some pics.

The beginning of China's house:

and a little bigger house now.

J just became an adult and China is about 2 days away from becoming adult.

Thanks! So far, it's not quite as difficult as the apocalypse challenge!

On another note, forgot to post a pic of my founder. : /

A second note, when I was w/China at work, I decided to take a peek at one of the co-workers in CAS. When I exited CAS, it took me back to the home lot. I had chosen to use a nanny that day to take care of Akisha. I switched back over to China, but when she got home, the nanny stuck around doing household stuff. I said OK, but later on some guy come into the house through the front door w/o knocking or asking and then addresses the nanny. She then leaves, but he proceeded to walk out through the bathroom wall! LOL It must have been her "boss." LOL  The nanny also had that hand above her head.

ON a kind of funny note here, I never knew that pear trees could not only grow, but produce fruit (on bare branches even) in the winter cold, LOL Nothing like a little fantasy, LOL

Thanks Granny!  So far, it's going good. I'm looking at houses now that I can copy so to speak. I did that once I think for a sims 2 challenge.

I just re-read the rules and I don't really have to have the statue since I can't do the celeb part or buy the Del Sol property. It might be interesting though, to make the financial challenge a little harder.

Well, it was bound to happen eventually. China got abducted by aliens. I'm glad it was China though and not J! They just ddon't have room for another kid although I'll be working on that soon (the house that is). The house they live in now will be converted to a full greenhouse and the family will move into a real house.

J's adopted daughter Shelby finished her childhood aspiration and grew into a teen. Her aspiration is to be a best selling author.

Also, Akisha grew into a child. Akisha is a Rambunctious Scamp and currently needs to practice typing for 4 in hrs. She has already maxed her Motor skill.

In other news, J is at lev 6 in the Tech Guru career and China is at lev 8 in the Scientist career.

Sonshine,
Just a quick note to let you know that your story has been moved (with Metropolis Man's assistance) to the "Sims 4 Stories: Legacy and Dynasty" folder.
That is the folder for stories based on our forum's dynasty challenges and their spin-offs as well as Pinstar's Legacy challenge and its spin-offs.
If you've bookmarked your story link, that link remains the same. :D

P.S. Your founder, Shelby, and Akisha are all very pretty.

Thanks! In the future though, could you please pm me if you move a story?  I didn't know what happened to it and was wondering, but then decided to check other story forums.

You're welcome.
Sorry about that. I'd assumed you bookmark your stories like many of us do.
Personally, I've never received a PM about any of my stories being moved.  Sometimes, I'm not even informed in my thread.

Bookmarking your story thread is one way to quickly access your story.
Go to the upper right of your thread and you will see the REPLY button followed by ADD BOOKMARK. Click on ADD BOOKMARK for this thread.
Now, whenever you arrive at the forum, simply click on "My Bookmarks" (to the right of "My Messages") to view all of your bookmarked topics.
You can do this for all your stories. It's very handy.

That's true about bookmarking. TBH though, I never thought about doing it on this forum b/c I can usually find them easily. I always bookmark them on the EA forum though.

Akisha grew to a teen now and I gave her the self-care specialist/wellness aspiration. I just now noticed though, that she has the "physically gifted" trait from completing the rambunctious scamp childhood aspiration. This is the first time I've completed it. : / Akisha looks just like mom, but has dad's body type (skinny bean pole). China completed her career and got a very nice comp. I'll have her quit now and get a different job since she is a Renaissance sim and needs to reach lev 3 minimum in a second job.
