Yes, my thoughts exactly.  They've been reworked, not sure if I really like it though.

FWIW, they appear to be the same in old saves. But when you generate a new game you get the new Goths.

They look more like the Addams Family than previous. But unless they changed their personalities, it's just like changing the wall paper.

There is a saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Quite suitable here. Sure, I have not seen many picture, only the one here: https://www.polygon.com/23141406/the-sims-4-goth-family-bella-mortimer-cassandra-makeover but I don't like it. I'm glad I play an old save (that never gets patches).
Unpopular opinion: I like the Sims 4

I can take or leave most of the aesthetic changes, but I do like it better that they made Mortimer and Bella the same age like they were in Sims 3, and that they won't have random seasonal outfits.
