I am DNF again without any score, I only played till Tuesday week 1. To all the 'joys' of life I got since last November, I am now also jobless :D so I spend all my time searching for the new one. I wish I was as successful as my Sims are in career challenges :D ironically enough, these are always my favorite.

Oscar Reyes fathered 16 occult children.

I felt kinda skeezy doing this, tbh. My first completed tournament challenge in awhile!

Yeah, I was joking with the team that Pam would not have approved of this BB. Oh, well. It's great to see you again, @rokrchik .

I was restricted by only having Get to Work but I wanted to get some participation points at least. My sim did everything he could to impregnate as many alien women as possible and has managed to have 9 fully alien babies.

I felt quite uncomfortable with certain choices I made and yet I persisted with them anyway. Not quite sure what that says about me, but I suspect it's nothing good...  ::)

All done. It would have been fun to have incorporated the new werewolf pack for this challenge, but it only came out a few days ago.

Anyways, I ended up having 23 occult offspring.

Happy Father's Day to any real life swimming dads out there. One of my favorite gaming memories with Sims is discovering Sims 1 back in 2002. My oldest daughter was only 7 at the time and she loved watching me play, but freaked out whenever the stove caught on fire. "Daddy nooooo!" Lol.

My daddy-o ended up with more children than he thought, but out of them he had 55 occult children ready to take on the world.

My Sim had no less then 73 occult children.

And full disclosure, I am late posting this. While I stopped playing well before midnight, it took forever to check everybody's life state.

No worries, Nandarelle. Thank you for being honest. Great score.

58 Occult children
19 Human children
1 unknown because the mom was "Not In World" and died and I can't find the kid.

In a tiny bit of in game karma.  On Week 3, Day 6, my sim was abducted by aliens and spent week 3, day 7 wondering if he'd eaten something funny.

This event is now over, so everyone is free to discuss strategy. Grats to Nandarelle on her first win of the season.

Thanks! I will try to type out my strategy this evening. But as a preview: I wasn't sure anymore if this was a Baby Boomer or a Turn the Town Challenge.

Haha! I'm sure next year we'll do the more traditional Baby Boomer with lots of parenting involved.

So Valentijn the Vampire fathered 79 babies in total: 6 humans, 1 spellcaster, 1 alien and 71 little vampires.
And I think everyone can already guess the main strategy: he turned many Sim women to vampires, before impregnating them.

He started with 'befriending' some pre-existing occult Sims, while he also worked a bit on his vampire lore skill, his vampire rank and his satisfaction points. The last one mostly to buy the shameless reward, so he was not ever bothered about getting it on with the next lady while the previous one was still around.
Clubs were used both to gather Sims and to persuade them into having Valentijn's babies. With the 'trait' requirement, he could make the club accessible for only occults (selecting alien, spellcaster, mermaid and vampire). He also started another club for human Sims. And if 'whoohoo' is a club activity, Sims need disturbingly little incentive to get it on. He tried for baby twice with each Sim, to increase the chance of pregnancy.
He stumbled into an alien night at the bar, which was also helpful. As soon as possible, he got the vampire perk and started turning Sims. He had a few human girlfriends while waiting for his victims to turn.
For a while, he had a routine of going into the towns to turn Sims, and then going home to start a club meeting, with the activities that that implies.
As he made his way through the list, he started travelling with the Sims he had transformed earlier. Travelling then triggered the complete transformation for them, and he had another rotation of club members at his fangs. He did need to ask them in person to join the club at the end, since there were too many vampires to find them all via the 'add club member' screen.
The lot traits used were convivial, romantic aura, and on a dark ley line. I probably should have used the on a ley line lot trait as well, although I'm not sure if that one works if the birth happens off lot.

I would like to give a shout out to Lily Feng, who had triplets despite disliking children. (Not even the first Baby Boomer challenge in which that happened for me.)

And thanks to the team. I really enjoyed playing this challenge.
(But it does feel a bit weird, now that I'm writing it down.)

Congratulations Nandarelle!

Much the same - except I didn't know (until too late) that he had to be near the women in order to trigger the vampire transformation (I kind of skimped on my play testing).  Also, toward the end, I decided to just take my chances and just rely on luck for turning the moms first. Also went with careless and player instead of shameless.

Other things:
  • It seems you can impregnate women who aren't in world now.  I know that used to not be true.  So I spent too much time trying to build tiny houses for the townies to move into.[p]
    • which failed because somehow I got the settings wrong townies did not move into any empty houses
  • could not find alien night, so he ended up joining the scientist career to find aliens and got abducted. The aliens he did find had vampires.
  • the mermaids also had vampires
  • the only set of triplets were Bella Goth's.  And she didn't transform until after they were born.  And they were all human
  • he has Michael/Michele/Michelle/Miguel, 2 Brendens, 2 Gages, and 3 Myrons.
  • college dorms spawn a lot of townies and seem to just keep spawning them. and spawning them.

For the "certain choices" - when I first started doing these challenges, I read a recap where someone reported that they needed to talk to the Grim Reaper about grilled cheese, so they invited some townies over, built a swimming pool, trapped them in it, and waited. That's when I realized that I had been doing challenges wrong by letting silly things like ethics get in the way.
