Aw ... Michiko and Gus are so cute together. I'm rather partial to the name Michiko. After my maternal grandmother passed, my grandfather spent the rest of his days with a girlfriend of that name, who added a lot of happiness to his elder years.

The Snozzberries (Not So Berry Legacy) 8.4: Anecdoughtal Evidence

The Snozzberries (Not So Berry Legacy) 8.4: Anecdoughtal Evidence

Gus (singing): I’m getting married in the morning
Watcher: You’re in a good mood!
Gus: I’m in a great mood. I’m going to marry the girl of my dreams…
Watcher: Hardly a girl!
Gus: She’s my one true love and I’m putting my gourmet skills to good use. I’ve spent the whole night crafting this iced perfection!
Watcher: It is truly a work of art. You could sell those online!
Gus: Don’t think I haven’t considered it.

8.4.1.jpg

Michiko: It’s been a wonderful day.
Gus: The guests all looked amazing – as did you, my love.
Michiko: I love green and preppy style so this dress was perfect – combining gold and green!
Gus: It was a bit weird that mum came in her prom dress.
Michiko: And Oona Luna came in her wedding dress!
Watcher: Oops
Michiko: I’m sorry we bumped heads when we tried to kiss.
Gus: And I lost the cake I’d slaved over.
Michiko: I’m so glad your mum saved the day by ordering another one.
Watcher: And who put the computer on the lot so that she could?
Gus: And then mum photo bombed our cake photo! That was so funny!

8.4.2.jpg

Watcher: Too funny! I had to send you for a nap. You nearly lost this dynasty!
Gus: You could mod it to disable emotional deaths?
Watcher: I’ve told you before, I’ve not got to grips with mods!

8.4.6.jpg

Michiko: Happy birthday George. You missed a wonderful party!
George: Party?
Tim: Your birthday too, Roald, my fellow spare. Let’s hope you get more than a reverse reflection shot as this story unfolds.

8.4.7.jpg

Willie: Can you believe it will be our elder birthday this week.
Dexter: And that’s why we’re here. I’ve got a surprise for you.
Willie: Is it something to do with the climbing gear we’ve got equipped with?
Dexter: Ah! That would be telling!

8.4.8.jpg

Willie: Phew those 2 sections are complete! I’m ravenous.
Dexter: Just as well I got Gus to make us some of his cereal-covered doughnuts then!
Willie: You think of everything.

8.4.9.jpg

Dexter: Welcome to your surprise.
Willie: It’s an ice cave!
Dexter : Do you want to…do some research?
Willie: In this weather?
Dexter: We can keep our gloves and shoes on.

8.4.12.jpg

Dexter: Oh Willie!
Willie: I’ll never get tired of researching with you. Argh!
Dexter: It’s OK. It’s just the bats flying out.
Willie: Oh. As long as they don’t get caught in my hair.
Dexter: Where were we? Oh yes…reaching the heights on Mt Komorebi!

8.4.13.jpg

Willie: I can’t believe all the things I’ve done and now it’s our birthday!
George: Party?
Willie: No, sweetie. Just cake!

8.4.18.jpg

George: Tell story, Dada

8.4.27.jpg

Gus: Well, once upon a time your Dada went to arrest a suspect but she escaped before he got back to the station. He went out to find her again and she insisted on dancing with him before she’d leave. And again, she escaped before he got back to the station. This carried on for some time in many places. Your Dada kept finding and arresting her and she kept escaping. Then one day he found her swimming in her hot weather outfit at a club. She said she’d only get out if he changed into his swim trunks so he did. He learned that the suspect was romantic and lonely and that she’d enjoyed their conversations. Your Dada managed to get her back to the station after that and, after some more conversation, she confessed. The End

Notes

Willie and Dexter have now explored all the Woohoo locations open to them with the packs I have. Both of them needed level 6 rock-climbing to get to the ice cave.

I got hit by a bug with Dexter needing to put out about 5 APBs and arrests before his suspect was finally waiting for him at the station. The online advice was to persevere so that’s what I/Gus did.

Title Pun:
What kind of evidence can a doughnut not take to trial?
Anecdoughtal evidence!

The dough puns are fantastic!
I got the Roald reference immediately!!  Loved that name choice!
Looks like that elder suspect lady might be giving Michiko reason to be jealous!  She's monopolizing time with her man!

Congrats to Gus and Michiko on their sweet wedding!
Congrats to Willie and Dexter for hitting every available "hot spot" in your game!  That's some dedication!
Lol, George his cute "Party?" interjections! I wonder what you have in store for him!

What a weird glitch you and Gus experienced with the Detective career!
I probably would have tried clearing the Origin cache files, too.
So glad Gus finally could arrest her!

I hope Michiko doesn't find out! We've managed to keep her happy but she is Gloomy

There's a new Party Animal personality trait.
I've been considering whether or not I want to add that as one of Gen9's traits instead of the rule-designated Squeamish trait.
Hmmm....

I agree with Pippin: the dough puns are a delight! It's making me want to play around more with the baking skill. Nice to see that Willie and Dexter have officially researched all possible woohoo locations. If that's not an achievement, it totally should be.

That's a thought....I'd be happy to do the same. The Squeamish trait seems quite irrelevant to the story... Let me know what you decide  :)

Thank you.
The doughnuts can only be made on the Cupcake Factory and, bizarrely required Cooking skill rather than Baking. Gen 8's requirements needed Gus to max Gourmet Cooking which seemed a bit irrelevant to the comedy/Detective story until I thought Detective- doughnuts! A cliché, I know, but it makes me smile.

I mis-wrote: Willie and Dexter haven't "made the most" of the autumnal piles of leaves due to it still being Summer.... we're just about to have the last week of Summer...watch this space!

The Snozzberries (Not So Berry Legacy) 8.5: With Jam In

Watcher: Whatcha doin'?
Gus: Mum moved out without clearing the vault.
Watcher: Can’t you just open it?
Gus: I tried that. Now Mum & Dad have moved out, the vault won’t open for me. I got a bad shock, literally, when I tried.
Watcher: So you’re breaking in?
Gus: Yep! There – done it!

8.5.1.jpg

Gus: Happy Birthday, George!
George: Party?
Gus: No – sorry. Maybe when you’re older…
Tim: I’ll get Roald, shall I?
Gus: Thanks, Bro. You’re the best!
Tim: You know it!

8.5.2.jpg

Michiko: What did the principal say?
Abdullah: She said I’ve done enough to graduate early.
Michiko: Congratulations. Would you like a cake to celebrate?
Abdullah: Actually Mum, can I have it as my birthday cake and then go and live with your sisters? I really miss them and you don’t need me here.
Michiko: But I love you.
Abdullah: Let me go Mum. I’ll be back to visit.
Michiko: OK son, but make sure you do!

8.5.3.jpg

Gus: Uncle Kameron? This is the second time you’ve been a witness.
Kameron: Sucks to be me, don’t it!
Gus: It’s just, with this being a murder and you being the only witness….tell me, did you join your mother’s firm?
Kameron: No way, man! Anyway, I've decided to adopt a child. Will you come and visit?
Gus: When we get time. When we get time.

8.5.4.jpg

Michiko: And so, even though the boy left home, his mother loved him and missed him very much! The End.
George: Can we go and visit Abdullah?
Michiko: Well, he did invite us over but...
Roald: We're always too busy!

8.5.5.jpg
Abdullah: See! I told you I’d visit!
Michiko: I’ve missed you
Abdullah: I know Gus makes you as many doughnuts as you want but I’ve brought you a cupcake.
Michiko: Aw – that’s so lovely!

8.5.6.jpg

George: This Spice Festival is great.
Roald: And all the food is free tonight!
George: I had the pho
Roald: Ha! Friend or pho? This is just like a party!
George: Is it though? I’d like to think a party would be even better.
Roald: Dad was going to try out some jokes at the Karaoke Bar but they only want songs.
George: If I had a party he could tell as many jokes as he liked!
Roald: And would you have Great Grandma Oona Luna playing guitar?
George: She's not bad, so maybe, maybe. My party's are gonna be WILD!

8.5.8.jpg

Wanda: I thought you were going to work on your motor skills.
George: I am!
Wanda: Fine motor skills, maybe. I thought you’d be out swimming or maybe dancing?
George: Dancing sounds like something you’d do at a party?
Wanda: You can dance any time if you’re a Dance Machine like me.
George: Well I’m seeing just how much I can achieve on this computer. You’d be amazed!

8.5.9.jpg

George: Maybe I will try a bit of dancing. I’ve been in the pool but it’s not very big. Dancing is fun and now I’ve maxed my motor skills. Man! This reggae music is really cool.

8.5.10.jpg

Roald: Hi Abdullah, we’re off to scouts.
Abdullah: Have fun. I’ve just come to see our mum.
George: Smell you later!

Title Pun: How does Bob Marley like his doughnuts?
   Wi’ jam in!
(probably the first doughnut joke I ever heard when I was only just old enough to vaguely know who the legend that is Bob Marley is)

I'm loving how each update ends with a joke in the generation where the heir has to do jokes.  And you're staying thematic with them, no less!  Very clever work, Watcher  :=)

I could reveal that I write the episode; then hunt for a doughnut pun that's close; and then tweak the writing to emphasize the pun but I'd rather glaze over that ;)
