Awww, you used the horrible pun I made!  I'm glad you liked it  :=)
Another lovely update and a nice, swanky apartment to boot!  Of course, I'm also delighted that Cara and the crew have such a lovely place to stay.  Not that I have a favorite, but I do and it's Cara  ;=)
And of course, I now have "Nuthin' but a G Thang" stuck in my head.
Another excellent update, Watcher, and like everyone else, I'm very excited to meet the pink generation!

Haha, Caraboo/caribou was an awesome pun!  And I knew you'd recognize that song by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, haha.

6.30: Married to the Mob

Week 30, Sunday (Year 2, 2nd week of winter)
Hello, folks. Nice to finally meet you. I'm Imane Berry, born and raised in Finchwick.
Our San Myshuno apartment is crowded, but I'm grateful to have help with the toddlers from tomorrow!
Here we are: Sly, my husband Blaze, Papa Damson, me, and Papa Tuki.

When I first met Blaze, I was an innocent country girl living in a cottage in the HoB.
Yes, we locals refer to Henford-on-Bagley as "the HoB," rhymes with Bob.
Since then, I've learned a thing or two, but not nearly enough to fit into Blaze's life.
You might think my everyday and party outfits are too formal, but I believe they suit me.
As a snobby lover of art and music, I possess Cultcha with a capital "C"!

As usual, we enjoy escaping our apartment for the sunnier, warmer weather at Desert Bloom Park.
To Blaze's delight, the Well grants him a full promotion to Safe Cracker (Level 8 ).
He is now a full-fledged Public Enemy! We're so proud of him!
W: There's been a Wishing Well at this park since the start of this challenge.
It's particularly useful this generation since Blaze lives in an apartment.

The Papas are eager to become Patriarchs, more for the title than the trait itself.
They only need a 4th good friend among their (six!) grandchildren.
I don't mind that they're monopolizing the nooboos, not one tiny bit.

I hate the rats and cockroaches running around this apartment! *shudders
They're too fast for Blaze and the Papas to catch, so I complain to the Landlord.
He's totally useless! He tinkers with the pipes which weren't broken in the first place.
Then, he does yoga on Blaze's mat and checks the problematic rooms but does nothing.

Monday
Imane: It's 1 am, Blaze! I wish you didn't always work so late.
Blaze; Comes with the job, Imane. You aren't gonna congratulate me on my promotion to Boss?
Imane: But didn't the Well give you a promotion only yesterday morning.
Blaze: Yes but, after that, I did my daily task, negotiated a bonus, and got promoted again.
Also, I like your new hairstyle. Leave the intimidating to me, dollface. You can just be yourself.

Imane; Pink for the win! We've named our twins "Cerise" and "Ren."
Seeing this bonsai cherry tree, we almost picked the name Sakura (cherry blossom in Japanese).
Instead, we chose Cerise for our firstborn, which is French for cherry.
Ren (rhymes with 'hen') is a gender-neutral Japanese name meaning Lotus.

In the afternoon, the twins age up to toddlers. Both twins have the Berry freckles.
Angelic Cerise has Blaze's hair and eyes, while charmer Ren's coloring take after mine.
Can you guess who the next heir will be? We've already made our choice.

Tuesday
Parenting, it seems, doesn't come naturally to me.
Blaze took two hours to "Read to a child for 2 hours" yesterday.
On the other hand, that same two-hour task takes me over three hours to complete.
W: Not her fault. I missed noticing her sitting with a book in her hands but without reading.

Damson: Let us help fix your negative relationships, Imane.
Tuki: Oh no! You mustn't be jealous of Mai Kudo, dear. She's so history!
Imane: What!? Oh, Mai? Please, we've disliked each other before Blaze ever entered high school.
Damson: Hmmm, I wonder what that was about?

Wednesday
Imane: Honey, the twins need to rest after their meal.
But the next-door neighbor's TV is so loud, they can't sleep.
Would you change into your other everyday outfit and straighten that out, please?

Blaze: Do you like options? I love options! I mean, who doesn't love options?
So I'm offering you two options, Mister Grocery Dude.
Either be a good neighbor or get the heck out of Dodge, uh, I mean San Myshuno.

And peace returns to our apartment building!
While the twins sleep, we take a short trip to Sulani where Blaze surprises me with a gift.
A portable mani-pedi chair with my own, exclusive attendant!
Believe me, I could get used to this!

Thursday
We spend another day at Desert Bloom Park, which is superior to Journey's End.
In Sulani, everyone would rather swim or snorkel than help with toddler skilling. No surprise.
Unlike our home, the park is spacious enough for the twins to learn Movement with ease.

I also run into my mother at the park while Papa D is mentoring me in chess.
Her gray hair makes her look elderly, but she's actually an adult like Papa D.
Meanwhile, the twins take a break from the slides to walk around watching everyone.

Blaze tells me that his fathers were divorced then remarried.
I would never have guessed. They've always seemed inseparable to me.
It's hard not to envy their relationship.
Perhaps once Blaze can assume a less active role in the mob…

Imane: I've been having second thoughts about that Long-Lived trait lately.
Do I really want to ruin my almost-perfect figure to live a longer life?
Once the next heir moves out, does it really matter how much longer I live?
Damson: Shame on you, Imane! You would leave an elderly Blaze all alone?
Image: How could I forget that I want us to grow old together? *pumps harder

Imane: I'd thought the twins would sleep through the night and age up tomorrow.
But they wake up hungry around 10 pm, so I have them max their last skill: Imagination.
By 11:30, first Cerise then Ren have blown out their birthday candles one day early.
It's too late to start school tomorrow, so they have 3 days off to prepare for their first day of class.

Friday
At 1 am, Blaze returns home with his final promotion to The Boss.
I was hoping he'd quit the mob after reaching the top of his career.
But, apparently, there's a proper order in the mob: Tonight, The Don steps down.
Later, when Blaze has his own protégé, it'll be Blaze's turn to step down. *sighs

The twins and I spend the entire day relaxing on the island where Blaze was born.
The twins love fishing and swimming around. Everyone's running around in their swimwear.
And I discover that I'm more of a city girl than I'd realized!
Time to take out my portable mani-pedi chair. Blaze!

Our last stop of the day is…surprise!  Desert Bloom Park.
The kids want to play on the pirate ship as part of becoming Rambunctious Scamps.
While I practice mixing drinks, I'm shocked to notice a new "Want": Become enemies with Mai.
Enemies? Is Blaze rubbing off on me or something?
Seriously, I cannot be bothered. Mai means nothing to me.

Saturday
Damson: Hey, son. I got a weird phone call from Mai a few minutes ago.
It seems she aged up to a young adult this past week. Why would she phone me?
Blaze: Probably because I deleted her from my contacts and blocked her.
Damson: Doesn't Mai realize you're married with children?
Blaze: Hey, I'm squeaky clean. I broke up with her right after I consulted the Love Guru the night you remarried.
Damson: What a troublemaker! Don't worry, I won't tell Imane that Mai called.

Imane: I have no idea what Papa Damson and Blaze are whispering about.
But it's time to send off the twins to their first and last scout meeting!
They're just one more drawing and a Keep Fit badge away from becoming Llamacorn Scouts!

Imane: Every day, Blaze and I take turns preparing gourmet cat food for Sly.
I swear, Sly has got to be the most spoiled cat in our simverse!
Sly: Hello? I'm right here. Also, I'm worth it! Are you?

Guess the Pink heir?

Cerise, dressed in PINK from head to toe and with red hair, or
Ren, dressed in soft greens & browns?

Um.....lol!

Imane's remark about guessing the heir was supposed to be a joke, since Cerise is the only one in pink in the very first toddler collage.
Glad you didn't miss that!  ;)

Nice to hear a chapter from Imane's perspective, and how crazy that Mai called thinking Blaze would propose! I had no idea that spa chair was portable; great idea to bring it to the beach for an ultimate day of relaxation. Cerise will make a great heir - she's already set with those pink tips!

Besides the non-portable versions, there are portable versions of the massage table and massage chair. I believe they came with the Spa Day Refresh update to allow a sim to offer wellness services on community lots.
I did a cc cleansing last month to improve game performance, so I have no cc toddler hair and only 2 cc hairstyles for children. Sadness.
Cerise is looking forward to a new haristyle on her teen birhday!

Team Cerise, reporting for duty  ;=)
I mean, with a fantastic auntie like Cara to mentor her, how could Cerise not be the logical choice?
I loved having the narration from Imane's perspective this time around!  Your usage pf the Sims in your household taking turns doing the narration really brings a wonderful life to each update  :=)
Also, some really clever work setting things up ahead of time for the apartment dwellers to still have access to all sorts of good things...like a wishing well  ;=)

Haha, you are such a Cara fanboy.  Wait till you meet Cerise, though! You'll be like...Cara who?
I'd placed the Well at the start of the challenge to help out the founder starting out and later household members who found themselves at the park wanting to make a wish.
It wasn't my plan, but that Well really worked out for Blaze. I mean, I could cram the darn Well into that apartment (yes, I tried, lol) but space is at a premium there!

6.31: This Place is Worster, Erm, Worstest?

Week 31, Sunday (Year 2, 3rd week of winter)
Sly: We spend so much time away from the apartment, you probably forgot it's winter!
But, yes, we're in deep winter here in the Spice Market. From left to right:
Papa Tuki, my pet's wife Imane, Cerise & me, Papa Damson, my pet Blaze, and Ren.

Sly: Yes, you read right.  It's me, Sly, here to tell you what's what.
I mean, I've been in this family three weeks longer than Imane.
If she gets to narrate an update, then so do I!
Blaze: But what about me?  I'm officially the heir, you know!

Sly (ignores Blaze): Anyway, the biggest news this week is our new household member.
Cerise has a new pet hedgehog named Quill.
If she trains Quill enough, they'll apparently go on adventures and send back postcards.
Hmmmph! Not a real collection, like my Feathers! *flicks tail with disdain

In other news, my pet Blaze finally becomes my Companion and a Virtuoso spellcaster.
Granted, he could've been faster if not for that Evergreen Harbor escapade.
Also, after three weeks, Imane finally offers me her friendship. Whoopee-do.
Better late than never, I guess.  Also, she often cooks me gourmet cat food.

As of this afternoon, the twins are done with Scouts and Rambunctious Scamp.
They're on the last milestone of the other three aspirations.
But I've insisted to Blaze that they shouldn't age up as soon as they're A students.
The longer the twins live with their parents, the longer I get to be a watched feline.

Monday
I was really put out this morning when I tried to socialize with Quill.
He brushes me off like I were dandruff. Who knew hedgehogs used semicolons?

When I complain about Quill to Cerise, she explains they'd been on an adventure.
In fact, Quill sends her a postcard from Whiskerman's Wharf!

Damson invites his mother Koa over to socialize with her great-grandkids.
He wants the twins to meet their great-grandparents before he and Tuki move out.
How long are you two sticking around, Damson?

Damson: We've been thinking about staying to help Blaze move next week.

Sly: Everyone disliked the sprawling Sapphire Shores house, but I didn't mind it.
I used to think the Pugilock Manor house was the worst place ever.
But I've since changed my mind. This apartment is the worstest!

Damson's on fleek today as pest exterminator, setting rat traps and killing cockroaches..
But the pests are no different than Arnold.  They'll be back! *sighs

Tuesday
Collecting the postcards that Quills sends is such a waiting game!
Cerise will be a teen in eight days but she only has the one postcard so far.
Do you see it on the corkboard at the front of Quill's crib?
Let's hope the 7th postcard arrives before she moves out.

I'm so glad that Damson and Tuki will be staying until next week!
Next to Blaze, Damson is my favorite human as well as a good friend.
As for the others, Imane's a friend but Tuki and the twins are mere acquaintances.
Tuki does the lion's share of mentoring in this household, so he is forgiven.
Cerise is a bit frantic about her pet postcard collection; Ren has no excuse.

See? That hedgehog ain't the only one who can wield a semicolon!  So there!

Sigh, the lack of privacy around here is simply ridic.
Once we move, I'll have to insist on my own room!

Tuki blows out his birthday candles and finally ages up to an adult.
Remember when, right after Damson aged up to an adult, Tuki drank a Potion of Youth to spite him?
Well, Tuki persuades Damson to drink a Potion of Youth tonight so they're the same age again.
Ahhh, true love!

Wednesday
Poor Cerise! She's been interacting with and caring for that ungrateful Quill daily.
In four days, Quill bites her every single day.
Since today's the Winter Solstice holiday, we spend the day at Tartosa.
She tries collecting messages in bottles instead but, alas, finds she's too young to dig them up.

Ren: Grandpa Damson, would you please mentor me in Violin?
Damson: Pssht, you can play music at home.  Let's go fishing!
Blaze: It's not Sulani, but Tartosa's pretty nice.
Cerise: Papa, I absolutely love this town. It's so beautiful!

Sly: I find Tartosa pretty swell, too. I mean, I could learn to love this town.
If Cerise decides to live here eventually, I wouldn't mind coming with…
Watcher, make it happen!
Hey, vendor! Gimme a quad of your best catnip, please!

What a life it would be!
Always sunny, always the outdoor life….What a dream!

Wait, who am I kidding?
Blaze wouldn't last a day without me.
Not to mention that pink spotted fur isn't really my look.

Friday
These days, Blaze works from 5pm to midnight.
Poor guy, though. He's not home five minutes when a fuse blows.
I swear, Tuki repaired that fuse box only four or five hours ago.
Blaze placed a rat trap yesterday, too.  This place is absolutely The Pits!

Quill: Sup, Sly?
Sly: Dude, everyone is SO over you! You send Cerise one postcard in five days?
At this rate, you won't send her the remaining six postcards before she moves out.
And, you know, when she leaves, she cannot take you with her! *smirks

Blaze: Thanks for ordering, Cerise. Listen, folks, I have an important question for you.
Next Wednesday on my adult birthday, we can finally leave that excuse for a home!
I'd always thought we'd move to the nicest penthouse in San Myshuno: 1 Torendi Tower.

Blaze: But there's a new house up for sale in Del Sol Valley.
Year-round sun, no noisy neighbors, fantastic view, and an outdoor pool.
What do you think? If you prefer this villa to a swanky penthouse, raise your hand.

Sly: Everyone raises a hand, except me; obviously, I raise my paw.
(Go moi with yet another impeccable semicolon!)

Saturday
Sly: Papa Damson and Papa Tuki will be going home to Sulani next week.
So, they both finish their Soulmates aspiration together this morning.
These two have had the most "screen time" of any other couple in this legacy!
Do you remember? Damson first met Tuki a few days before Damson's teen birthday!

Operation Befriend Everyone in the Household!
Ren is my fifth friend in the family.
Befriending Cerise will be easier now that she's not so gungho about Quill, hehe.

Mission accomplished!

And that's the way it is. Saturday, 21st day of Winter, Year 2.
Join us next time when Blaze completes his final requirement as the Orange Heir!

Progress: End of Week 31
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Notes
*Pet Postcards:
I'd never tried to collect the Pet Postcards that a pet rodent sends when traveling.
However, Cerise interacted constantly with Quill and got only 1 postcard this week.
So, I'm removing Pet Postcards as Cerise's second bonus collection.
She'll continue to care for Quill, though, until the day she moves out.
To continue that collection after moving out, she'd have to buy a new pet rodent.

*Building binge: I've been on a building jag these past several days.
For the first six generations, I'd mainly either recycled my previous builds or edited premade lots.
This past week, I built that Del Sol villa plus two other houses for future heirs.
I've even created new off-campus housing for later use.
Now, I need to resume playing my sims so they can eventually move into those lots, lol.

An update from Sly's perspective: how cute! 10 of 10 points for adorableness. I had no idea about the postcards; I've yet to play with a hamster. I'll have to get to work on that collection soon now.

Sly is a hoot!!!  "Brushed me off like dandruff" is awesome!  All the shade he threw at Quill was delightful!  And Quill deserved it!  How dare he not send postcards to poor baby Cerise!!!  And of course, his absolute confidence that he deserves a glorious palace, yet the balance of his acceptance that he needs to stay with and care for his pet, Blaze, is just fantastic!
And yes, Sly kind of called out his Watcher on having a favorite couple in this family line ;=)
Oh, and all the semicolon references?  Outstanding!!!
A delightful update and I can't wait to see what's next for Cara's family!

The Pet Postcards would be do-able in a dynasty or legacy where the active household stays on the same lot, so your Alvahs would be fine!
I'm curious how long collecting all 7 postcards takes your sims. :D

Lol, i'm so glad you enjoyed Sly. He was not about to put up with competition from Quill for the family's love and attention!
As much as I'd love to keep feeding Age-Down treats so he moves from heir to heir, his having to be recolored to match each generation's color theme is a deal-breaker.
I laughed at the hedgehog's little note with its insolent semicolon.
And thank you for your gentle correction of my semicolon misspelling (I'd inserted a hyphen). I had to go back and edit that three times. *facepalms
Nobody cared for Sly's Schwarznegger reference in relation to the rats and cockroaches. :(

Two more days until your four-day weekend, Pippin. Hang in there!

I caught the Arnie reference although it was a double take ("Arnold who?") ;D

I'm looking forward to your buildings being revealed. What a teaser! The Del Sol Valley one looks good from the outside. I definitely prefer that to a Penthouse. When I play them it's always difficult to keep an eye out for visitors to the neighbourhood so I miss opportunities.

I never got the First Pet pack. Is it fun? It looks a bit frustrating from Cerise's experience. Plus I had to Google whether a hedgehog is a rodent - they are not!

Oh dear, I'm feeling out of my depth with semicolon skills plus my woeful attitude to the Oxford comma  ;) (please note my use of semicolon in emoji!)

I loved Arnie and Danny DeVito in that comedy film "Twins," but then Arnie became my governor for a term. *sighs sadly
Blaze's household represents my longest time ever playing in an apartment.
Whenever I decide to live in San Myshuno, I've always opted for Ye Old Salt House, haha.
Good riddance to 19 Culpepper House (well, in a few days).

No, the First Pet Stuff is definitely not worth it. The best stuff packs, imho, are Tiny Living, Toddlers, Cool Kitchen Stuff (ice cream machine), and Vintage Glamor (butlers).
Pretty sure you have all those except maybe Cool Kitchen?
I never use the washing machine/dryer in my games, but I like the CAS items from the Laundry pack, haha.
And Quill thanks you for sharing that hedgehogs are rodents.

I used to teach freshman writing seminars at uni, so I'm pretty good with grammar.
But I have vision issues which leads to typos, no matter how many times I proofread.  Love your semicolon emoji! <3

6.32a: Presh Frince

Week 32, Sunday (Year 2, 4th week of winter)
Quill: Hey, it's me, Quill Smith! (I've decided to keep my maiden name, ahem!)

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped,-turned upside down.
And I'd like to take a minute
(cuz it's how I roll)
I'll tell you how I became the frince of a town called Del Sol.

Blaze: Oh, no you did not! This is my very last episode as the active heir, Quill.
I'll be narrating this myself, thank you very much!
Quill: Nooooo, you can't do this to me!
Day in, day out, all I do is run around my hedgehog wheel!
Please tell me there's more to life than that!

Blaze: Well, I might have let you narrate if you'd sent Cerise more than one postcard.
But you didn't, so you better get back on your wheel! Jump on it!

And, now, returning to our regular programming, here we are from left to right:
Papa Tuki, wife Imane, Cerise with Sly, Papa Damson, me, and Ren.

Damson: This is how you want to spend your last Sunday as a young adult, son?
Blaze: A one-day trip to Selvadorada is just what we need.
Today's New Skill Day, but you, Papa T, and I are running out of skills to learn.
I thought the three of us could easily learn Selvadorada Culuture…

Blaze: The whole family can enjoy a dip in the Royal Omiscan Baths.
Sly is probably off battling squirrels.

I confess my main reason, though, is to harvest berries from the Tree of Emotion.
Those emotional berries were so useful to me growing up.
On Cerise's teen birthday, I want to gift her a complete set for her own future garden.

Monday
Speaking of gardens, I started a garden from scratch after moving to Evergreen Harbor.
Well, except that Cara took along the normal UFO plant she won in a space race.
Even with help from Papa D and my siblings, we only evolved three plant types to Perfect.
You'd be surprised how much progress Papa D and I have made on this terrace!

I consult Papa D and he agrees that the twins could age up tomorrow.
Their character values are good and they've run out of useful skills to max.
I don't really want them to learn Mischief, Pipe Organ, or Vampire Lore.
And we have mixed feelings about Bowling…You already know what I think of knitting. *rolls eyes

It's obvious that my fathers are itching to move back to Sulani.
Papa Damson spends his free time playing chess or talking to plants on the terrace.
Papa Tuki spends hi free time playing chess or talking to plants through the kitchen wall.
(Only Papa Damson and I have access to the terrace or everyone's always talking to plants.)

Imane and I have other ideas on how to spend our free time, especially while the kids are at school.

Tuesday
Tonight's officially my last night as The Boss.
My days of high visibility as head of The Mob feel short-lived, but I have no regrets.
Now I'll simply be pulling strings from behind the scenes.  Life is good!

Later that same day, the twins blow out their birthday candles in the kitchen.
But the kitchen's so cramped that they have to walk to the adjacent room for their birthday leaps.

Aren't the twins beautiful?
Cerise has Imane's nose and lips but otherwise resembles my side of the family.
When Watcher dresses Ren in my hairstyle, Ren looks so much like me.
That means, I guess, that Ren resembles his Grandpa Tuki.
Ren feels secure enough about his masculinity to embrace the color pink..

Neat, unflirty Cerise joins the Simfluencer career and the Chess Team.
Cheerful, geeky Ren joins the Streamer career and Computer Team.
As they start on their daily tasks, I notice that Ren is Very Sad.
What the heck? The entire household has the "Baby Whisked Away" moodlet.

Then, I see we've had repeated notices about Quill's death since the twins' makeover.
When Ren checks Quill's cage, though, the hedgehog is alive and well.

My google-fu informs me that this is an open bug, not some weird revenge by Quill.
So, I release Quill to the wild and sell their habitat. Be free, Quill!

Wednesday
I blow out my candles before receiving my birthday celebration notice.
We want to move before the twins leave for their first day of high school.
All my requirements as the Gen6 Orange heir are officially complete!
It's finally time to blow this joint.  Good riddance!

It feels fabulous to be moved into our new Del Sol home!
I'd planned to close this episode with a quick house tour.
But it's too early and the weather's a bit overcast, so I'll show you around another time.
This house and all its windows were designed for sunny weather.

Papa Damson and Papa Tuki can't wait to move back to Sulani.
They'll live with my brother, Sunny, and his family at Journey's End.
And now Imane and I can sit back, relax, and raise our twin teens!  Piece of cake!

Notes
*Quill's fake death: I've played families with pet rodents before but this bug is new to me.
I had no trouble with it at all before, so I don't know what triggered Quill's glitch.
I had Ren drink a moodlet solver, but he repeatedly got the Baby Whisked Away moodlet with every notice of Quill's death.
Farewell, Quill! (We were planning to release him when Cerise moved out.)

*Multiple BFFs: Having an infinite number of BFFs makes no sense to me.
I guess it's better than a friendship dying due to a rejected BFF request.
Still, when Blaze became BFFs with Imane, I wish she'd replaced his high school girlfriend.
How does one "un-ask" a BFF to become regular friends?  Does "Ask to be just friends" work?
