Just a small update; I was making progress and had him buy a business selling frogs. When I started playing a couple of nights ago, the bldg was there, ready to buy and he had gotten just shy of a promotion. During that session, I had him buy the business and he ran it for a day and got a little over $1k. Then my game crashed. I lost the business, and the progress on his job! Even the bldg was gone and I know it was there at the beginning of that save! He had gotten promoted and I selected "Space Ranger" for the path he was going to take. When I go back, I think I'll go for Space Smuggler instead. The Ranger path requires him to buy and build a rocket and he has very little space to do that. I still want to move them to a little bigger house. I wish I had started on a larger lot, but oh well. In the mean time, between what he and Maaike bring in from their jobs, and what he's bringing in w/the garden and fishing, they're doing pretty good financially. I tried some of the over sized crops, but I'm not sure if they're worth it. The fertilizer is pretty expensive (a minimum of $20 each) and what they sell for is not that much above what it costs to grow them. The other produce, especially grapes which are permanent sell for much more.
