Rules: 100 Baby Challenge by Snarky Witch
« on: March 14, 2022, 01:53:53 AM »

I realize that there's already a version of the 100 Baby Challenge in this thread, but I intend to play the version by Snarky Witch, the simmer who first modified the challenge for The Sims 4.
Here's the link to her post "Sims 4 100 Baby Challenge": https://snarky-sims-witch.tumblr.com/post/181535303038/tos-i-am-the-original-writer-of-the-sims-4-version

Sims 4 100 Baby Challenge

TOS
I am the original writer of The Sims 4 version of the 100 Baby Challenge; however, the first version of the challenge was created for The Sims 2 by Amiisays. (Thank you to @blindingechoes for this info!)

If you repost this version of the challenge anywhere or write another version based on my version, you must credit me and link back to this post. I hate to be **y about this but writing and updating these challenges is laborious and time consuming and I’m fed up with people copy-pasting my hard work and slapping their own name on it.
Objective
Your objective for this challenge is to give birth to 100 children in as few generations as possible. The challenge ends as soon as the 100th child is born or if you fail the challenge for breaking rules.

Getting Started
*Create a young adult Sim to start out with. We’ll call her the matriarch.
For the sake of clarity, the matriarch will be referenced with female pronouns in the rules but your matriarch may have any gender customisations you wish, as long as she can get pregnant.
She may have any traits, aspiration, appearance, walk style, and voice you like.
*You may use the in-game personality quiz to determine your matriarch’s careers, traits, skills, and starting funds if you like. You may also opt out of this option if you prefer.
*Move your matriarch into any lot she can afford with her starting funds. You may move as many times as you want during the challenge as long as you can afford it without cheating.
*Find a Sim to impregnate your matriarch. For the sake of clarity, these Sims will be called donors and referenced with male pronouns in the rules, but your matriarch may have children with non-binary Sims as well.
*Continue having children in this manner while following the rest of the challenge rules.
PSST! Want to play with a custom aspiration made just for this challenge? Check out @kawaiistacie‘s 100 Baby Challenge mod, inspired by this challenge! Playing with this aspiration is completely optional, but can add lots of extra fun to the challenge. (oshizu's note: this mod is no longer available so I marked it using Strikethrough)

Base Rules
These rules apply to everyone, regardless of which packs you own. If you don’t own any add-on packs, you can just use these rules and disregard the other sections.

*You must play with aging on and set to a normal lifespan. Auto-Aging for NPCs is encouraged to ensure the game keeps generating donors for your matriarch.
*Any mods or CC that give you an unfair advantage over other players are not allowed.
Mods that allow you to overstuff your household or gain money through child support payments are definitely not allowed.
*No cheats! The only exceptions to this are bb.moveobjects on for creative building purposes and cheating to resolve glitches.
*If a lot your matriarch moves into has existing lot traits, you may not edit or add to them. If your lot has no lot traits, you may pick three traits but your decision is permanent.
  You cannot change them after.
*All in-game rewards from completing aspirations and social events may be used except ones that prolong your Sim’s lifespan or save them from death.
*Babies cannot be aged up until you get a notification saying that it is their birthday.
*Toddlers can be aged up when they reach level 3 in all toddler skills.
*Children and teenagers can be aged up when they get an A in school.
*Young adults can be moved out of the house to make room for more children but they cannot be moved back in after.
*When your matriarch becomes an elder and can no longer bear children, her youngest daughter takes over as the next matriarch.
You may move out your elderly matriarch only if her youngest daughter has become a young adult.
*You cannot make more room in the house faster by killing off underage Sims or letting babies, toddlers or children be taken by social services. Raise your children to adulthood. Simple.
*Your matriarch may register as self-employed or have a work from home career, but cannot have any job that requires her to go to a rabbithole destination. She cannot have a part-time job.
*Teenagers may hold part-time jobs to help support the family and bring in extra income.
*Your matriarch may leave her home lot freely. She does not have to bring all her children with her whenever she leaves the lot.
*Your matriarch may not get married while she is of child-bearing age. She may get married as an elder but she must move out of the home with her spouse. They can’t move into the active household.
*Your matriarch may not get pregnant by the same donor twice. Once he has impregnated your Sim once, he cannot be used again for more children.
*Donors may not contribute to the household in any way. They may not move in, help look after the children or provide any financial aid to the household.
Your matriarch is responsible for supporting all her children by herself.
*Your matriarch may not influence the gender of her children. Avoid strawberries, carrots, pop music, and alternative music to avoid influencing the gender of unborn babies.
*Use the in-game randomiser to select all the children’s traits as they age.  You cannot cherry pick their traits.
If you preferred the old method, you may also continue to use Pinstar’s random trait generator or createarandomsim.com if you wish.
*You may hire maids, gardeners, and repair technicians, but you may not hire a nanny. Take care of your own children. You may hire caterers and mixologists but only for parties.
*If you have add-on packs installed, there may be added rules or exceptions to the base rules. Continue to the add-on rules to see any additions.

Add-On Rules
The following rules apply to players who have add-on packs installed. Disregard any rules for packs you don’t have.

*Your matriarch may run a retail business, restaurant, or vet clinic. Teenagers may help out at these venues as an alternative to hiring employees.
*Your matriarch may have a work from home job but she must always choose the work from home option.
*Your matriarch may join and create clubs as long as the club activities do not violate any challenge rules.
*Your matriarch may have pets but keep in mind pets take up space in the household and there are no rewards for having them.
*You may participate in holidays and create your own holidays as long as none of the traditions violate challenge rules. Feel free to edit existing holiday traditions to comply with the rules.
*Your matriarch may become famous and build reputation through any means that don’t involve careers.
*Your matriarch may go on vacation but she must bring her entire household with her. She may not go on vacation if she is pregnant or has a newborn at home.
*Your matriarch cannot be a vampire. She may use vampires as donors but any female vampire children are ineligible to take over as the next matriarch.
You may cure a female vampire child to make her eligible again.
*If Parenthood is installed, teens may not be aged up and moved out of the house until they have an A in school and at least one character value within trait range.
Your matriarch must always stop whatever she is doing and go scold/punish her children as you see fit if you catch them misbehaving.
*Your matriarch may use the wishing well but she cannot wish for a child.
*Your matriarch may hire a butler but the butler cannot look after the children. Disable child care in the butler’s menu.

Optional Occult Rules
Disregard this section if you do not want to play with occults. This is just for players who enjoy a more supernatural play style. Choose only one occult type to play with.

Occult Incentive
*Your matriarch must be human.
*Each occult born to your human matriarch adds two to your total child count, so one occult child is worth the equivalent of two human children.
*If you choose to make your next matriarch an occult, you forfeit this bonus until you take another human matriarch.
For immortal occults, you can take on a new human matriarch when the human daughter you want to continue the challenge with becomes a young adult.
*If your chosen occult has an alternate form, your matriarch and all her children must always be in their human form whenever they leave the lot.
*You may not tip off Sims outside the household that anyone in your household is an occult.
If occult-related socials are used or if a Sim discovers that anyone in your household is an occult, they must be banished from the home immediately and never be socialised with again.
Feel free to get creative with how your family protects their secret. Have your aliens wipe memories or your vampires compel for a deep drink, etc.

Occult Themed Challenge
*Your matriarch must be an occult.
*Your matriarch may only have children with human Sims.
*Any human children that your matriarch gives birth to do not count towards the 100 baby total.
You may not move out human children to make more space for occult children until they meet the normal requirements to be aged up into a young adult.

I Won! What Now?
Congrats! Here’s a nifty badge to post wherever you like! It’s an honour system, so I trust that you’ve finished the challenge if you use it.

Yes, definitely good luck! The 100 baby challenge can be very easy to abandon if you let it fall into a routine, so my one tip is to try to mix it up every so often! Max an aspiration you usually don’t! Get a random uni degree you’ll never use to get a job! Move to all the worlds! etc etc.  :)
they/he pronouns please!

Haha, thanks.  I didn't feel like starting a legacy challenge just yet.
Have you played since the new Neighborhood Stories System update?

I've never abandoned a mult-gen challenge I've started except to restart it, so I hope the 100 Babies Challenge will not be the first challenge I abandon.
How far along are you with yours now?  Are you alternating between that challenge and your Big Dreams Dynasty?

Well, I don’t want to clutter up this thread, so the short of it is that I am VERY good at abandoning challenges. 100 baby I got disinterested a quarter of the way in, and big dreams I basically made the founders before I went on a few months of a sims burnout.

@Auranaris
I take my claim back!  I enthusiastically started but never finished my Build-a-City Challenge, haha.

Sorry to hear about your sim burnout.  I'm sure it happens to all of us.
I'd sworn I was done with The Sims but then Cottage Living came out, lol.
At least, when you feel like simming agin, your founders will be waiting for you!   ;D🧡
