State of Roommates?

Has the issue surrounding roommates and the CONSTANT making of white cakes been resolved? I'm starting a new game with an orphaned teen who'd like some income from a roommate. But not if the income will be going towards cakes (Simple Life lot challenge).

Searching out the issue/bug it seems to have conflicting reports and may not be a problem anymore?  I am not entirely sure on this. Here's what I was able to find from Sims 4 Bug Reports:

It was reported fixed in patch 1.67.45/ 1.32 - Oct. 2020.

The thread above states something about having the NAP - cooking plan is active.

So it might be fixable by turning off the cooking plan. I'm sorry, I can't test this as I don't have Eco Lifestyle or Discover University.

I read that Alex Moyer the default roommate is glitched in this way. Is that the roommate you are having issues with?

I haven't tried having a roommate in a while, since the two or three times I have tried in the past, EVERY npc sim spent all their time making cakes. And complaining about the lack of amenities. I was trying to see if anyone else had more recent experience with roommates.

Haven't used the feature since Tiny Living came out as the micro home bonuses are too good to pass up and leave no room for another non family sim. Wish I could help.
