Goal
Valentine's Day is coming up so the team is offering up a special townie event where you attempt to complete the Soulmate and Serial Romantic Aspirations with as many townies as possible in three weeks.


General Challenge Rules

The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be listed below. Be sure to read these as changes have been made for 2022.

Specific Challenge Rules

• Create one YA Sim (any species) in CAS with either the Soulmate or Serial Romantic aspiration, and move the Sim into any lot.
• No moving allowed nor changes to any lot structures.
• Sims may only work on Soulmate or Serial Romantic aspirations; no switching to any other aspiration.
• Once you have completed your starting Sim's aspiration, use Manage World to switch to any other household and immediately change the aspirations of everyone in the household to either Soulmate or Serial Romantic. Once you choose, you can't change it.
• The chosen aspiration must be completed for every Sim Teen or older in the household before you move to another household.
• You may age up any Sim at any time.
• If there is more than 1 Sim in the household, you must have at least 1 Soulmate and 1 Serial Romantic in the household.
• You may not add Sims to, or remove Sims from, any household.
• You may change lot traits and/or lot challenges. You may not change lot type.
• The challenge ends on Week 4, Day 1, 8 am.

Scoring

Soulmate -- At the end of the challenge, give yourself 1 point for every unique Sim that earned the Soulmate Aspiration.

Serial Romantic -- At the end of the challenge, give yourself 2 points for every unique Sim that earned the Serial Romantic Aspiration.

Total -- Just add Soulmate and Serial Romantic together for your final score.

• Modified the rule to make it more clear that Sims can only work on Soulmate OR Serial Romantic and no changing of aspirations.
• Added clarification that lot traits and lot challenges can be changed, but lot type may not.

Sounds like something I can probably do while queuing up for dungeons as my Machinist in FFXIV. 

To be honest, part of me is tempted to do this challenge if I didn't have to worry about needs.

No changing lot structures means you can't move walls, you can't demolish and rebuild the house - you can't make any kind of structural changes to the house.

Yes you can add any items you want, and you can change lot traits/lot challenges, but not lot type - (as in, you can't make it a tiny home residential - all home lots must stay Residential).

I have a bug, maybe 2 bugs. Clicking on most of the buttons suddenly stopped working for some reason - including the menu button so I can't save my file and I had to exit the game without saving. Can I go back to my previous save?

I'm not sure if it might be related to the above bug, but a non household sim had somehow got into the stairwell on our current lot. (No idea how or when, there's no way into that area). If she's stuck there when I go back in, can I add a door or remove part of the wall just long enough to get her out of there and then put it back as it was? She doesn't appear to be a stuck sim as I saw her using her phone. I don't know if that's related to why my game ended up with a bug with the menu button though.

The sim must have got stuck in the stairwell before this point because she's in this save too. Can I let her out? Does adding/removing a door count as a lot structure change? It looks like there's enough space to add a door into that area and I can remove it after.

Go ahead and do what you need to to get the fix. I would not view adding/removing a door as a lot change.
