Sims 3 won't download onto my hard drive

Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum so hopefully, I'm in the right place. So my problem is for some reason every time I try to download the sims 3 onto my hard drive it will give me this error but my sims 4 is installed onto my hard drive and it works just fine. I've tried re-installing the sims 3 and even origin but nothing works,  I can't find any solution on the internet and I'm losing hope because my game worked just fine before on my hard drive until I purchased Pets and University life and tried to add it but it gave this error then I thought the solution would be to uninstall it but I guess I was wrong. I have a WD Western Digital 500GB USB Portable Hard Disk. The second image is my directory folder.

First, Welcome to the forum.

From looking at the screenshots, you have it installed on two different drives. Everything needs to be installed on one drive to be able to play.

ok so tried what they said on the link you posted but no change, it did install the sims 3 base game but when it comes to the expansion packs it gives me the same error

If you haven't already, you may want to post about the issue over at AHQ. Give as much detail about what's going on as possible. This will help in troubleshooting.
