Wow, it's hard to believe that you've already reached the start of Week 5 of your dynasty, Watcher!
I love that Pier Palace lot. The ocean view is stunning and there are lots of fishing spots and dig sites around. 
Great choice for the family!
And, how wonderful that Polly gives birth a girl, just as she'd wanted.  Such a lovely household. <3

I’m not pushing her career or skilling along deliberately as I don’t need/want her to move out anytime soon.

Whether or not we move a sim out who's completed their Big Dream is up to us, right?

Theo: Polly! We’ve lost all the plants!
Polly: What! I’m coming. Oh – it’s OK, sort of. They’ve gone dormant because it’s Winter now. I should've seen that coming.

Theo: That’s a relief! I was worried you would have to start from scratch again. What can we grow in Winter?
Polly: Well, there’re a few things we could grow and harvest in the Winter but no real high-value ones. Is it OK if I order a greenhouse? We could probably get by on your freelance income but I’ll lose my job if I can’t do the tasks and I’m nearly at the top of my career.

Polly: Let’s have some family fun and go to the Festival of Youth today. The boys can join us after scouts.

Theo: The spreadsheets don’t pay much but every now and then there’s a job for National Security. I can hack that database no problem redacted and then write it up. All in a day. Best jobs ever!

I'd meant to get the plants under glass before Winter hit but, c'est la vie!

Nell completes the planned number of gen 2 kids but my loved-up founders may outwit me.

I’m not pinning them down to any particular Big Dream yet although I think they’ll all be going to uni, if that gives you a hint of my current plans.

Is it me, or are my founding couple – fresh out of CAS – writing their own back-story? First Theo seems to have a childhood trauma related to the Festival of Youth and then Polly’s talking wistfully about her mama.

“Nothing can come of nothing” King Lear – the epitome of sibling rivalry

Not a lot happened this week, as the kids noted! I didn’t realise Sims were so needy that they count how many photos they’re in. I’ve taken to making sure I get a shot of each the kids each time I decide to take one.  I hope this sibling rivalry doesn’t become a serious thing!

Polly has had to introduce herself to all of her children when they aged up from babies to toddlers and then she had the normal parent relationship with them. Theo didn’t need to… it’s a mystery!

Yes, the freelance computing gigs do have to be chosen carefully to save time. The encryption ones keep losing their files and the games/mods/apps take forever. The spreadsheets are low paying but quick. The Redacted ones are much better paid and also take less than a days work. They aren't always available though.

Polly: It was part of my life-plan – I can’t believe it’s all come together. I couldn’t have done it without you Theo.

Polly: Well, you know all those stories I’ve been making up for the kids? I actually got this offer of a new job and I think I’d like to start writing them down to see if other people like them.

Yay! My first dynasty Big Dream Completed. Polly could move out now, but why would I do that? I love her! She’s going to only write children’s books which I know is the easiest but I thought it would be interesting to see if she can get the Bestselling Author asp with them as a side project.

I never seem able to capture the in-game pop-up achievements. By the time I’ve done a little “yay” and pressed the screen capture button, they disappear. Is there some way of keeping it on screen or is this granny just too slow?

The gardening from home career is a breeze! Just one thing to do each working day and half the things are things you want to do to develop your garden anyway. If I’d encouraged Polly to work on her logic, she’d have maxed the career even earlier.

Demi did blow his candles out first but I think Sandy aging up interrupted the process of Demi aging up. The whole aging thing is a little flaky in my experience.

I am such a shallow person! Sandy and Demi aged into obese teens. I could hardly bear to plan their outfits until they’d slimmed down.

As @oshizu has cracked my non-too subtle clue, Demi has announced his Big Dream of being Dr McSteamy!

There is a clue to Sandy’s Big Dream in this episode – have I made it more subtle? I’ll keep adding his achievements but he may surpass his requirements so that might throw you off.

Regarding the splash announcements, it's best if you can anticipate them.
When I notice that one of my sims is getting close to one, I position the camera for a (possibly) good shot then wait with my finger hovering over the C key.

I struggle with catching the splash screens as well - I have a mouse that has extra thumb buttons, so I programmed one of them to print screen - so now I just have to hit that button. But it's not second nature yet, so I still have a delay before I remember to hit it. My other problem is that I too often have the OTHER Sim selected and the camera on them, so I don't get the splash screen. It's a work in progress.

I agree about the birthday thing - you can't have two age-ups going on at the same time, so if you start one before the other is finished the game doesn't always handle that smoothly.

Look at all these beautiful red-headed children! And teens already!

Congrats on being the very first player in the whole wide world to complete a dynasty Big Dream! 

And now for Sandy - In "The Prettiest Babe" you said you thought you'd send them all to Uni, so the R&D book isn't a surprise. The only thing I saw that I thought could be a clue was the need to exercise, which could be a clue or could just be a comment. But that made me consider Sports Master. However, he completed both Whiz Kid and Rambunctious Scamp; there are a few Big Dreams that require both, including Champion of Batuu, Savior of StrangerVille, and Intrepid Adventurer. All three of those also require Fitness. Personally, I'm leaning toward Intrepid Adventurer, but not for any particular reason other than I'm just feeling that for him.  But knowing that he may surpass his requirements means there are many more Big Dreams that it COULD be. We're going to need more clues. . . .

Mia: Sometimes I get so stressed at school. I want to work hard but there’s often something aggravating going on! Classical music really helps me wind down.

Not much happened this week, just the “Big Reveal” - Sandy is dreaming of being a Life-Long Learner – I love that @oshizu & @GlazeyLady can recognize the Research & Debate book cover which means @oshizu has now guessed both BDs. Can I make future hints more obscure, I wonder. I’ll continue to add all the girls achievements even if not required by their BDs to see if I can throw you off the scent!

I’ve never seen the elaborate wall that Theo moulded out of clay. Are they getting more elaborate? He’s not spending much time on handiness or charisma because he can’t complete his Big Dream until one of Gen 2 tops their career. Polly & Theo are in it for the long haul.

Miki IS the only girl Demi has ever kissed. It’s so hard avoiding all the First Kiss options during the first 2 dates of Serial Romantic so that the same Sims can be kissed for the 2nd stage! The First Kiss with Miki happened immediately after their date finished. Kissing hands, neck, etc don’t seem to count.

I definitely wanted at least one boy in gen 2 and Polly did eat a solitary carrot during her first pregnancy but that's the only tweaking I've done.
Isn't it ironic that "Sandy" should be the only one without red hair. It was a real surprise when dark-skinned baby Nell aged into a pale red-headed toddler. They all have lovely green eyes though. I do think the Sims genetics/aging is an interesting lottery.

Mia: The weekend was fun but I want to make some friends. Dad’s too tired from his computing but Mum brings us to Oasis Springs park. She says she & dad went on their first proper date here.

Notes

“Meet the time as it seeks us.” The Tragedy of Cymbeline

The focus has very much been on getting Mia ready to age up to a teen. Nell has been working on a couple of aspirations but neither is maxed yet. I’m not good at multi-sim-multi-tasking which is why aging on long is a real blessing.

I also keep forgetting to get their homework club round to speed things up. Polly & Theo’s club only meet now when the children need adult friends – I hope they don’t mind.

Mia's eyebrows needed a bit of attention but she came with quite a cool set of quirky outfits that I've just added to a little.
