Thank you GlazeyLady ... I think I shall.

Are there any particular benefits to starting as teens vs young adults?

I really enjoyed starting with two teen founders for a number of reasons.
*Depending on your founders' choice of Big Dreams, the Scouting Aptitude trait and certain character traits can be highly useful, as GlazeyLady already mentioned.
*I wanted some "alone time" with the founders without rushing into marriage, pregnancy, and children (as I can hardly resist doing, haha).
*As a result, I had a head start of sorts with the founders' Big Dreams by the time they aged up to YAs after 3.5 weeks as teens (I'm playing on Long).
*They started in Henford-on-Bagley which was convenient for one of their Big Dreams; when they aged up to young adults, therefore, they moved to a different town.
So, yes, the extra teen years with my founders, unburdened by family, was very enjoyable.
And be sure to choose Big Dreams for your founders without overly troublesome, time-consuming teen requirements. (Still, the teen stage on Long is 7+ weeks, so...)  ;)

Looking forward to reading about your dynasty, @Deklitch   ;D

Samesies. Especially since I knew I wouldn't get Top-Notch Toddler or any of the childhood "Gifted" reward traits for the founders, Scouting Aptitude was my main reason for starting with the teens.

Can you no longer start in Strangerville, the city based one with the apartments, the vampire town or the one with the island spirits? Or has something gone wonky with my game? They are no longer coming up as options for beginning towns but the places with the shops, the one with the spellcasters and the one that sounds like a German town are appearing as starting options as are the one with the Goths, the one with the Landgraabs and the one with no houses. (as you can tell, I know the names of locations well in Sims 4 lol).

It should be possible to start in any of the towns you mentioned: StrangerVille, San Myshuno (with the apts.), Forgotten Hollow (vampires), or Sulani (the tropical place with island spirits).
I had a problem today where Origin insisted it had downloaded/installed ALL of my packs, but when I tried to load my save, the game said the Get to Work contant was missing.
Perhaps you need to reselect your Origin Games folder and/or repair your game?
My game sorted itself out after following MrsFlynn's instructions. (Thankfully, I didn't need to uninstall/reinstall my game.)

My apologies if the link above is unrelated to your problem.  :(
Good luck!

How do we define "wealthy" for the person the Gold-digger marries?

Is it down to whatever house they're  living in. If it's their personal funds, how do we find that out? And what would it need to be? $100k? Or more...

By the time I start, all the original townies may have popped their clogs....

I'm nowhere near starting this dream so no rush for an answer

it took me (the player) about 2 days of real time to work out how to enroll my teen in scouts ... turns out to read the enter sentence in the guide (rather than just stopping after click on teen and use their phone) is an important skill to master. I'm sure my founding sims had a fun time just standing there, wondering what their watcher was doing. I'm already on my third attempt, no one has died, yet, I just ummm realised some starting big dreams weren't the best (especially family ties combined with family matters - I was an 80's kid and so watch both shows). And me trying to do uber sim wasn't all that smart either. Hopefully Soulmate combined with Fabulously Wealthy is a better combo

So an actual question. Do our sims have to keep to only the aspirations associated with their big dreams, or can they jump among aspirations like a rabbit?

And another actual question - are their any requirements on when the next generation is born/adopted?

And a third - in other Sims 4 Immortal Challenges, we can't have both lot traits and clubs and once we selected one we couldn't have the other (and we couldn't change lot traits). Is there a similar restriction with this one?

Thank you!

@oshizu authored that Big Dream so I'll let her answer - I know she and I talked about this, but I don't remember where we landed. Hopefully she will.

They can jump around all they want.

No, you can start the next generation whenever you want.

No, you can change things whenever you want. Unlike other Dynasties, you can even download lots whenever you want (the only restriction is no items on the lot that have to be earned - such as career item, if your sims haven't earned them).  This challenge is intentionally less restrictive than any of the others - the idea was to have the challenge come from the Big Dream requirements and not from restrictions on play - we wanted players to be able to use as much content as possible.

I'm so glad you're jumping in to play this! I hope you enjoy it!

In my opinion, there are two ways we can judge "wealth."
(1) Household funds: You can see a household's funds in Manage Household. Just select that household.
(2) Lot: Some sims don't have much in household funds but live in an expensive home, such as Diego Lobo.

And yes, wealth is a subjective judgment. There's a club admission requirement for "wealth," the highest of which requires household funds of $10k or more.
Haha, that doesn't seem very wealthy to me, but I think it's a very reasonable approach.
If our dynasty household is affluent, moving in a spouse would also work (thus bypassing that negative character trait). *winks
That townie would need a re-traiting potion, though, to get the required traits.
Another approach might be to use the Neighborhood Stories feature to persuade couples living in the more expensive homes to breed.

TL;DR: If the Watcher has thought out a logical approach to deciding that the Gold Digger's spouse is "wealthy," that's fine.

One of my dreamers was just killed by a Murphy bed... I guess I'll find out if a ghost is able to complete the requirements! I've never really played with ghosts before, so not sure what limitations there are.

...and the Grim Reaper decided to hang around my house listening to S-Pop, so I asked him to help cook dinner.

I hadn't really thought about inviting a ghost back into the household and keeping them a ghost to complete the requirements, but this dynasty is about using as much content as possible, so, sure, you can do that. You can also restore the ghost to life through any means in the game (ambrosia, the Book of Life, spells . . .).
