I hope someone here can advise what changes I can make to stop some general poor performance I'm running into more and more in my game. I'm using the Steam version. I believe my computer specs far exceed the requirements and should be able to handle the game on the graphics settings I have (mostly high but with only 1 high detail lot and the setting that hides items on inactive floors).

I'm having two annoying issues in which my sims are invisible when I enter live mode from any other mode. When I first load the save, if I come out of build mode, if I come back from town edit, some of my sims are invisible for sometimes as long as 1-2 IRL minutes at regular game speed. Nothing short of resetting the sim seems to help, I just have to wait it out. Something I've noticed is that if they're ice skating when it happens, their skates are visible, but otherwise none of the sim is visible.

Another issue I have is that despite running the game with high sim detail, occasionally and hilariously sometimes my sims become super super super low quality. Like, low-poly and blurry textures. It's funny looking but also annoying.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor
Radeon RX 580 Series
24 GB RAM
Windows 10

DirectX: 11.0
.NET: 5.0.401

I have my frame rate limited to 30FPS through Riva Tuner.

I have tried running my game with no cc as I thought it could have been my default replacement skin not loading quickly enough, but even without the replacement, both these issues happen. I don't use very much cc anyway though. I didn't try running without mods because I'm scared to break my save since I have 9 sims/pets right now.

Can anyone tell me if this is due to my computer specs? I know my GPU is a bit dated but it's going to have to work until the chip shortage is over with LOL. This is a new issue, I played this save for many hours before these glitches started happening and they start happening more and more as time goes on. Any suggestions or comments welcome <3

- Have you tried updating your graphics drivers?

- Make sure your GraphicsRules.sgr shows the texture memory 2048, as the default 32

Example:

if ($textureMemory == 0)
  seti textureMemory       2048
  # setb textureMemorySizeOK false

- Try to turn off as many background processes as possible.

If these tips don't work, ask over at AHQ for a second opinion. Please be as detailed as possible and post what you've already tried so they can help better.
