Amina's Diary

I only write after a major freak-out. It helps with all my neurosis. But I know I am a neurotic mess maybe that's why I like to write so much. Anyways for our birthday Lyra and Elyssa both got sculpting stations while I received a brand new top of the line lap top. Mom is always encouraging Lyra to keep up with her painting and sculpting, stressing the need for her to be the best at both. Maybe its me but mom seems to be pushing Lyra towards something, what that is I don't know. But Lyra is a natural at sculpting. Poor Elyssa not so much.

But Lyra being the suck up that she is is more than happy to oblige. Zebra's Lyra, Really? Don't get me wrong I love Lyra. She is one third of me, but even I get sick of her "I'm all that" attitude sometimes.

I am good friends with my half sister, Devon, but her mother was more than a little vindictive towards my dad. I don't what happened between the two of them. According to mom, Dad is a completely different man now than he was before he married mom. I guess that is why dad isn't as close to Devon as he is with us. It wasn't until Claire passed away that Devon and Dad really got a chance to reconcile.

I was happy to be there to witness the reunion.

Elyssa and I often take time to play in the sprinkler's. Honestly it's more fun than the homework that Dad makes us do everyday after school.

Mom does try to talk to Elyssa and me. She often talks to us during breakfast before she tends to the garden. She really doesn't approve of the fact that I like ice cream for breakfast but she doesn't say to much about it. Dad is the King of the kitchen and if he says its okay then she doesn't disagree.

Elyssa is such a tomboy. She is always working out and fixing stuff around the house. She is always telling me how I'm such a girl because I rather read a book than go jogging with her. She got really ambitious wanting to be the best of the best. She also got the lifetime wish to max out three skills. Something I know she will do without a problem.

Dad finally got a chance to met his nephew Cletus. I thinks its hilarious that Cletus is my uncle's son and my half sisters half brother. I know there is a story there but Dad Mom and Uncle Conner are mum.

In school I met Sam Sekemoto, I thought his pale skin and dark eyes were memorizing. But when he invited Lyra home after school I have to admit that I was a little jealous.

Especially when once he graduated he came over just to watch her sculpt. I know that Sam and I are meant to be and that one day we will marry and move away from Sunset Valley. I will not worry about Lyra and Sam falling for each other. Especially since I know she has her eye on Sherrie's older brother, Clark.

But it didn't hurt to tell her to put all thoughts about Sam and put them in the space shuttle sending them to the planet formally know as Pluto. You know just to be sure. Also Dad has reached the top of his cooking career and received a fancy fridge. But you can't tell by looking at dad that he is a world renowned five-star chef. Since he has a fondness of spending the entire day in his pajamas. (Que teen age sarcasm)

So diary I should probably get to bed. I want to be well rested in time for my Simlish test tomorrow.

SooSoon!!

Lyra picked up the Savvy Sculptor trait, Elyssa got the ambitious trait and Amina received the bookworm trait. Naja has been busy gardening and fishing for those pesky death fish. Eventually Lyra will pursue a career in painting, but for now I want her focusing on sculpting those 25 ice sculptures.

Yeah, Naja keeps them too busy to get in trouble. Just like my own mom used to :D. No work today so I will probably do two updates today.

One bad conversation, Lots of tears

I got a call from Phoenix today urging me to tell Lyra about becoming an immortal. It has been a conversation I have been putting off for far to long.

I decided to take her to the nicest restaurant in town, to have "The Talk." I told her about the promise I made to a good friend of mine and how when she becomes a young adult she needs to make a decision whether to continue the dynasty. Once she made that decision there were several things she needed to do.

Lyra:Squee!!! How cool I get to live forever.

Lyra: What about Amina and Elyssa will they become immortals as well?

Naja: No only the first born has the ability to become immortal. Your sisters will eventually pass away.

Lyra: So Dad is going to die as well?
Naja: Yes
Lyra: Does he know about this whole Immortality thing?
Naja: He does, he knows how much this promise I made means to me and how much it means to Phoenix.
Lyra: Mom this is alot to think about, can I talk it over with my sisters?
Naja: Sure, you still have time to decide.

I went home and Lyra called her sisters to meet her in the park.

Lyra: So mom told me some heavy stuff today at dinner. (tells her sisters about becoming an immortal) As expected Amina immediately freaked out over it.

I assured them that I would seriously think about it. I mean how could I imagine eternity without my sisters? After a round of hugs, we went home to think about our own futures.

n8thgr8 and Rachel- I think that I've been putting off playing The Reeds since Amina and Elyssa are both close to dying. I just don't want them to die.

Anyways as promised the second update today

Jared Get's Older Dorie Loses Her Husband

Since I am officially entering my golden years. I asked Naja to keep the party small. Just our best friends. But when does Naja ever listen to me. I'm actually glad she didn't. There's nothing I like more than being the center of a large party. Besides I love the face Naja is making in this picture. Look right beside Emma Hatch

Woohoo!! I managed to blow out all the candles. Not bad for an old fart. Still no one beside Emma

Checking out my new old people's clothes, Naja does not look impressed. Hey wait a minute who is that rude little girl laughing at me. Where did she come from?

A quick trip to the hair salon to get rid of all the gray. I look pretty good. Check out the diamond earring.

Naja and I sneak out to spend a quiet moment alone. She has stuck by me for years I can't imagine my life without her. While Naja and I were alone, Dorie got a phone call telling her that her husband Gus had a stroke and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately Gus did not make it through the night.

I met with Dorie out side of the theater. She was absolutely heart-broken over Gus. Since Dorie has always been prone to live in a fantasy world. I knew that Gus dying was to much for poor Dorie to deal with.

I could see that Dorie loved Gus as much as I love Naja. I realized that my wife was headed towards an eternity of heartache. A burden I wish I could take from her but I know I can't. A regret I shall carry with me always.

I get home with a heavy heart then Naja leaps into my arms.

She's beautiful and we love each other. Whatever the future holds I guess we'll worry about that tomorrow. Tonight is for my wife and I.

Thanks Lilygirl, I will admit that I was feeling a little sentimental when I wrote the last post. My 1 year wedding anniversary was yesterday and Jared's last line is reminiscent of my hubby's wedding vows. In my mind Jared is a big sappy teddy bear when it comes to Naja and the triplets.

There won't be a lot of dialogue in this update.
Birthdays Galore
Lyra

I misplaced Lyra's first adult picture

Amina

Elyssa

Naja

You can see the girls in the background. I thought it was cute when Lyra and Amina wore the exact same shirt.

Lyra five traits: Artistic, Excitable, Perfectionist, Savvy Sculptor, Friendly. I decided to roll the last trait for each girl.

Elyssa- Athletic, Friendly, Disciplined, Ambitious, Brave

Amina-Heavy Sleeper, Excitable, Neurotic, Bookworm, Frugal

Next post Egypt!

With prepared traveler purchased for the entire Reed Family the first vacation was a whopping 18 Days. I wanted Elyssa to get to level 3 so I could buy a vacation house. The first 10 days were filled with Elyssa going on adventures, Amina collected gems, Naja fished for crocodiles, Jared read new recipes and Lyra went shopping and read her photography book. I didn't take any pictures because I was so focused on getting a vacation house.

Our Egyptian Vacation

Elyssa spent majority of our trip to Egypt off exploring tombs and helping the locals with their various problems. Lyra Jared and I stayed near by the base camp mostly eating weird Egyptian camp fire food. We were plagued by paparazzi practically the entire time we were at the base camp.

Annoyed by the constant requests for pictures and autographs, Jared and I decided to slip away to a camp near the river.

At first we just wanted piece and quiet.

But I forgot that Jared isn't the peace and quiet type of guy.

Unfortunately for us we weren't as alone as we thought. One of the reporters followed us to the camp. Next thing we know our private romp was pasted all over the Egyptian Us Weekly.  :o Poor Jared couldn't show is face in town for several days.

At last we were able to buy a small piece of land just outside of town. Thanks to all Elyssa's hard work with the locals we were able to build a small house fairly quickly. As you can see we were able to ship the girls beds to our new home away from home. Sometimes being a celebrity has its perks.

Amina immediately got on her laptop and started writing The Reeds Got to Egypt. Her first bestseller.

Meanwhile Elyssa and Lyra worked on finishing off their 25 ice sculptures.

Elyssa couldn't resist taking a break from sculpting to go on a run through the pyramids.

Lyra ran into a little problem with her ice sculpture. I guess she wanted to see what frozen water tasted like.

Lyra first ice Sim was of Amina. It was a brilliant piece of work.

Elyssa doesn't have Lyra's skill, much to Lyra's disappointment. Fortunately we all shared a good laugh about the sculpture.

The last night Jared spent some time with Lyra by dancing the night away.

When we got home we discovered that even paying an arm and a leg in shipping fees, Ice Sims do not ship all that well. They were nothing but puddles of water when we opened the boxes.

I did the same. I just grinded away at the adventures, and I finally got to level 3. I had some issues at the end with a severe lack of adventures. I think I will take a page out of the Reed's book and build my own vacation home.

The Decision Part 1

Lyra's Diary

While in Al Simhara, I had a lot of time to think about continuing Mom's Immortal Quest. I knew I had a ton of questions to find the answers to before I could. Amina has been in love with Sam since high school, could I deny her the chance to get married and have kids? Even though Elyssa swears never to fall in love, should I go through with it she will never be able to have a normal life. Not to mention the feelings of my own future husband? Who would want to marry into such a weird family. There is also a little matter of my mom. As much as I love her, do I really want to live forever with my mother? It seems every time I ask myself a question instead of an answer I find three more questions.

Dad, however, is busy trying to make a toilet out of wood. Like anyone would ever use it. I mean could you only imagine the splinters?

Elyssa, who has gotten a job at the police station, is being her usual tough girl self by spending most of her time working out.

But when she thinks no one can see her, she often slips into Amina's room to listen to the music box Sam gave her for graduation. This is the reason I think if she ever does falls in love it will hit her hard and fast.

Amina spends most of her time on the phone with Sam. Good thing he’s local or could you imagine the phone bill?

Mom took Elyssa out one night to try and see where my head was at about the whole Immortality thing. She told mom that I was leaning toward not going through with it.

That I couldn’t be the reason Amina couldn’t be with Sam. That there were too many questions that will probably never have an answer.

I still don't know what to do.

Lyra

The Decision Part 2

Lyra's Diary

Time is running out. I know I need to make a decision sooner than later. My mom is trying to allow me to make my own choice, but I can see how anxious she is. However I know I can make a choice until I know what will happen between Amina and Sam. She invited him on a date to the park last week, where she told him about our family and my possible decision.

Sam didn't understand at all. He couldn't seem to get passed the fact that our mom and I would live forever,

while our father Elyssa and Amina would die. You would think he would be more understanding considering his father was a Vampire.

After the date Sam went to his favorite place to think Crystal Springs. Could he give up marriage and babies?

In the end there wasn't a choice. He knew where his heart laid. And if it meant being with Amina then the rest didn't matter.

Sam: I love you, Amina and that's what is important. I want to spend my life with you however that may be.
Amina: Oh Sam

I am happy that Sam and Amina worked it out. And it made my decision easier knowing that Amina had Sam. In the end I suppose there was no real choice but to continue the Reed Dynasty. The fate of my family was sealed the day mom made that promise. And while I can't in good conscious ignore the pact however I can chose how I react to it. It has to be done but I don't have to like it.

My mom and dad share a love that will probably last a lifetime. Amina and Sam are perfect for each other, to the point of being one of those annoying couples. I however do not want to search out the love of my life. Clark Keaton and I have been friends for years and we deal very well with each other. But before I could ask him to share my life with him I needed to be sure that he could handle it.

Lyra: We have been friends for a long time. We deal very well with each other. So here it goes, years ago my mom made a pact with a fallen star to live forever with her descendants. Since I will soon become an immortal I would like to marry you and have a kid with you. But one day you will die and our child and I will live forever with my mother.
Clark: Why can't I live forever to?
Lyra:  Its all in the pact, only the first born descendants are able to achieve immortality.
Clark: What about our other possible children?
Lyra: Our CHILD will live forever. I will already have to watch my father and sisters die. I refuse to watch a child of mine pass away.
Clark: So only one kid?
Lyra: Yup
Clark: Okay. I mean at least I get to pass one my genes right and my kid will live forever?
Lyra: Genetics are up to nature but yeah pretty much.
Clark: One thing one our kid should be named Keaton.
Lyra: Yeah sure why not.

Clark had to got to work soon after we finished that conversation. But the next day I invited him over the next day and we got married by the mailbox. I'm not going to lie I am less than thrilled about my future. But it is what it is.

On a completely unrelated note: Yay Packers!!!!
