That is really weird about your original population disappearing.
Is it like that even if you recover and load the previous save?
If you find a prior save with your population intact, you might post on the IDC thread. I'm sure you'd be allowed to roll back your challenge to that save.

The forum expert on the new Neighborhood Stories System is @MarianT  :)

Best wishes on your decisions and hope the Dojos are back soon!

Chapter 8: The Second Generation

Lilly, Terrah, and Sterling all age up to Young Adults within a couple of days from each other ... and you know what that means! Jobs, achievements, skills, love, and all sorts of adulting things.

Here's Lilly on her first day in the athletics career. Performing as llama mascot might not be the most glamorous start, but she'll become a sports star in no time. Terrah takes up a job as a secret agent, while Sterling goes into the tech career with an eye to becoming a professional e-sport gamer.

Best friends Lilly and Terrah work on both the Mt. Koromebi Sightseer aspiration and the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration, which involve taking in the world of Mt. Koromebi and leveling up the Snowboarding, Rock Climbing, and Skiing skills.

Here they are starting out on the bunny slope with a sled.

Hiking ...

Honoring the spirits ...

Rock Climbing ...

and Skiing ...

.

With their skills mastered, Lilly and Terrah get ready to hike to the top of Mt. Koromebi only to discover that the aspiration is just plain bugged.

They are unable to host a hike (through the social event planning menu) as the starting lot is glitched out. From what I've read, there's nothing to fix this bug aside from just ... starting a new game and hoping you don't get it next time?? Which means Terrah will need to select a new 2nd aspiration to complete. Still, at least she can still claim the skiing, hiking, and rock climbing skills as planned.

In other news, Kaori, mother of Lilly and Sterling, passes away gently one evening.

And Lionel and Dwight Dojo (Samura's sons) age up to young adults (yes I'm breezing right by their teen years, during which I largely ignored them and consequently they did nothing much of interest).

Lionel has taken it upon himself to complete the Critic career.

While Dwight, getting somewhat of a late start due to my indecision, aims for the Science career.

Both, of course, must take on the responsibility of producing children in the hopes that distant descendants can provide future spouses.

I survey the towns for potential mates only to discover that there are only TWO age appropriate women who live in homes. Every home except one is inhabited by sims unknown to myself, presumably being randomly generated sims, although perhaps there are some original townies just not ones I'm familiar with? I know Samura gave birth only days before turning elder, so generation two got off to a late start, but I'm surprised I can't even find original townie children. Not sure what happened there. Hopefully Lionel and Dwight's soon to be many children can liven up the town, plus you know the neighborhood stories.

Lionel romances Nani.

And Dwight pairs up with Christie.

And of course, it would be remiss of me not to mention the love that blossomed between Terrah and Sterling (largely not depicted thanks to my neglect).

Which, although they have not yet felt the need to be married, has blossomed in their Adult years into the birth of Generation Three - Silas Dojo!

Nice! Your second-generation kids are all young adults now!
A warm welcome to you, little Silas, to the Dojo Dynasty, little Silas!
Haha, his father Sterling has such a Vlad profile.

How disappointing about not being able to do the Mt. Komorebi Excursion!
I'd never known that it's been glitched since last June but somehow managed to complete one in January 2022 with my Big Dream Dynasty.
This is a huge issue, considering this social event is one of main features of Snowy Escape.
I can't believe the devs would ignore this bug for over a year, while announcing the release of more new content this year.
(I did read through the many pages of the EA Answers HQ thread related to this bug.)

Speaking of your population, has the Neighborhood Stories System's Move In setting worked for you?

I'm so glad the Dojo dynasty is back! Can't wait to meet Silas soon as a toddler!

Chapter Nine

It's winter again! I know it doesn't seem like it after all the mountain pics in the Spring where it's cold all year round, but here we are.

Dwight and Lionel both eagerly await their incoming children with Christie and Nani.

While Lillie, Terrah, and Sterling all reach the top of their career tracks. Goal: achieved!

Little Generation Three, baby Silas, grows up just a bit. You can see the Vlad genes are still there in the strong cheekbones, but have softened considerably.

Christmas rolls around, and it's time for the family to celebrate.

Silas requests a present, and you know Father Winter can't resist all that cuteness!

In other news, I found out that sims with the Adrenaline Junkie lifestyle can "Fight for the hype!" or some such. I decided to give it a go, thinking it would be like the Rally the Troops action from Get Together. Instead, this happened:

Lilly challenged Terrah to a fight - and won! The hilarious part is that since they're both adrenaline junkies, nobody got mad or anything. Guess they enjoyed themselves!

In other news, Terrah is working on getting her second aspiration. Since Extreme Sports Enthusiast is bugged, she goes for Super Popular, which means her relationships will never decay. She'll be responsible for maintaining relationships with the extended family, along with helping out in the garden with Samura.

Speaking of Samura, she's been working toward becoming a yoga master. The Spa Day aspirations don't count for the challenge, so she and all her heirs can complete them just for funsies. Plus, the lady's got to stay busy with something or another with all that spare time, am I right?

Up next: a detailed house tour to showcase new construction and remodeling!

Silas is sooooo cute and his mouth has that little Vlad-esque downturn.  Squeee!
Wow, you've come to the end of another year already!
If Terrah has started the Friend of the World aspiration, I might warn you that its reward trait "Beloved" prevents the rewarded sim from befriending their nooboo until they're toddlers.
Oh, but Silas is already a toddler, so that doesn't matter. Haha.

And, yes, I would absolutely love an in-depth house tour of your very fabulous domicile!
I am definitely here for that!

Thank you so much for taking us through the amazing Dojo Mansion.
Its exterior is so majestic and tasteful.  Its interior is so spacious and equipped for everything!
And there are so many specialized "activity areas."
May I ask how many bedrooms and bathrooms it has?

I especially love the pavilion in the watery, indoor courtyard!

It's an amazing house! Everything a dynasty could need.
My Sims always wander off when I have big houses but I don't think I'd mind in such lovely surroundings.

Thanks guys! It's been really fun to build and always a work in progress. I've got plenty of time to spend in this house, seeing as you can't move lots in an Immortal Dynasty, so I went big!

Yeah, sims do tend to wander off, and take some pretty long pathing in places, but it's not too bad. It does annoy me when they decide their bladder need really needs fixing using the toilet aaaaallllll the way across the house, by which time they're about to loose it.  ::)

Bedrooms: I'm pretty short right now - just Samura's, a toddler room, a child/teen room (where Lilly still sleeps), Terrah and Sterling's room, and an undecorated room for Lionel and Dwight. Oh, and one for the butler, recently hired. Bathrooms, hm ... 8 or 9?

Chapter Eleven

Silas ages up to a child, still taking heavily after his grandfather Vlad.

Having been a top notch toddler, it's on to see how many childhood aspirations and character values he can get.

He's also got plenty of cousins to make friends with: his uncles ultimately each had four kids!

No wonder Lionel and Dwight's girlfriends always came over looking like this!

Samura opens up the hidden areas in both Willow Creek and Oasis Springs looking for new fish and gems.

Terrah finishes up her Friend of the World aspiration and gold metal event requirement with a few wild bangers. Nothing like a good keg party to prepare for old age, am I right?

She also finally decides it's time to settle down and propose to her long time boyfriend and father of her child Sterling. Not overdue at ... alllll.

Last - but definitely not least! - Terrah celebrates her final birthday and becomes an immortal!

Terrah Dojo: Immortal the Second

Carrer (1): Diamond Agent.
Aspirations (2): Mt. Komorebi Sightseer, Extreme Sports Enthusiast Friend of the World.
Skills (3): Rock Climbing, Skiing, Snowboarding.
Rewards (4): Iceproof, Storm Chaser, Super Green Thumb, Carefree.
Gold Metals (5): Date, Birthday Party, Keg Party, Charity Benefit Party, House Party.
Good Friends (6): Christie Sigworth, Kazuki Imai, Nani Kealoha, Saturo Fujii, Chandler Willis, Yutaka Nakamura (BFF).
Whims (7): Hit a Stuffed Animal (Angry), Send an Energized Text (Energized), Send a Happy Text (Happy), Propose Crazy Scheme to Someone (Confident), Tell a Joke (playfull),
Flirt with Someone (Flirty), Play an Instrument (Inspired).
Museum Items: Easter Eggs.

Chapter 12

Upon maxing the Secret Agent career, Terrah decided to switch it up and shoot for becoming a famous Internet Celebrity. Isn't her starter career outfit just hilarious? Gotta get attention somehow I guess. Basically, around this point in the dynasty I decided that instead of letting my immortals rest in their old age, I wanted to have them keep acquiring as many skills, aspirations, and careers as possible. It's not a dynasty requirement under the rules, just a personal goal to keep things fun and interesting.

Accordingly, Samura also retired from the Mixology career and decided to pick up the Gardening career to become a florist. She looks a little worried here, poor dear, but she'll manage.

And on other career related news, Dwight finished maxing the Science career and created an intergalactic portal so that the family could keep in touch with its alien heritage. Huzzah!

Silas aged up to teen after maxing all four childhood aspirations (whoo!) and promptly met up with the extended family for a post-birthday bash. Quite the good looking bunch if do say so myself. (Silas is the one there in the center with the sunglasses and blue bandana.)

He's squeamish, self-absorbed, and (ultimately) jealous. Triple combo for some drama! Here he is throwing a tantrum because fishing is *disgusting.* That squeamish trait is a great trick for those teens who you intentionally want to age up with uncontrolled emotions - which I do. Any guesses as to what career he'll be aiming for?

Then there's Boston Ring, an alien I invited into the household to produce children.

He impregnated Sage Gruber and then promptly died. I mean, I wanted more children out of him, but alright. Good enough, buddy! You can spot the heavily pregnant Sage in the background there.

Speaking of death, yes, sadly there's more. Sterling passes away unexpectedly early, on the very day he was set to finally marry Terrah. At least he said farewell in the family's science lab, surrounded by all the tech a Pro Gamer could desire.

His older sister Lilly follows shortly thereafter in her Sports Champion uniform. Terrah could not have asked for a better BFF to spend her mortal days with.

And while it isn't quite consistent with the timeline, let's go ahead and jump to the deaths of Lionel and Dwight Dojo.

Lionel maxed the Critic Career, Food Critic branch, earning career rewards such as a food award plaque and dish of golden pears to adorn the kitchen.

While Dwight maxed the Science Career and created multiple fun and useful items for the family, including the intergalactic portal (shown above), as well as a cloning machine and freeze ray.

Then there were four.

Okay, so that's a lot of death, y'all! But I promise, the next update will include much, much happier times.

The family must have been so sad with all these demises!  Did Sterling die of shock after seeing his bride in her new work outfit?
Dwight's death scene is very atmospheric.

Chapter 13: Stardom and Romance

Silas ages up to young adult. Isn't he handsome? It's a good thing too - he's gotta be swoon-worthy enough for that silver screen.

He receives an - and I must stress - an appropriately, tastefully lavish bedroom with accompanying private bathroom suite.

His first acting gig is a bit of a thinker. You'd expect that he'd have to stand by some tools and do the Vana to promote a hardware store.

But then he's also a vampire - where does that play into the mix? But hey, who cares? A job well done means he's on the road to fame!

And he's not the only one. In her capacity as upcoming internet star, Vera's been streaming video of most everything she does. Wave, wave. Smile, smile.

She rises up the celebrity ladder until she can buy the perk to donate items to charity in exchange for fame.

Vera decides to donate toilets. The most expensive of toilets. Golden toilets. Ah, it feels good to donate to the less fortunate. Everyone needs a golden throne for their morning ritual ... right?

They both make it big and are duly acknowledged at a reward show.

Samura decides to stay out the celebrity spotlight, thank you. It's just not her style. Instead, here she is showing off her new Calming Aura, a reward for completing the Zen Guru aspiration.

With his rather dreamy looks, Silas decides its time to break some hearts and go for that serial romantic aspiration. In a whirlwind of romance, he conquers the hearts of both men and women alike. (Note especially the picture in the bottom left corner - upon purchasing the Beguiling reward, he can charm sims with a bow and arrow to make them instantly flirty! Learning something new about The Sims all the time.)

It takes an alien, however, to get this one to settle down. After a few dates with the delightful Aimee Goode, Silas invites her to join the household.

And he's not alone in that regard! Vera hits it off with alien Armondo Long. Clearly it's love! (And not that a certain watcher suddenly realized that for Samura to get the Big Happy Family aspiration, she needs to witness the marriage of a child. Nope ...)

Here he is looking quite a bit happier in his new duds.

Up next, do we hear wedding bells? Yes. Yes we do.

I love Silas's Edwardian style in the long-line jackets and waistcoat. Definitely Matinee material.
The award ceremony looks fun. I've got fame turned off in my current dynasty so my Sims can't get in to it.
Looking forward to a (double?) wedding and alien nooboos.
