How does The Sims 3 World Adventures Work?

I am planning to give World Adventures a go one day, I have already Generations, and Seasons installed, I had plans to install World Adventures but not just, I wait until I am back to the one child policy in having families I am on the three child policy right now.

When your Sim or Sims go on vacation to one of the WA towns, time freezes back in your home town.

Once in France for example, you can do whatever there and return home back to home life. Things should be just as you left it.

This may not be the case if you have some kind of story progression mod installed.
