I know it has nearly no game play. I know someone with better writing skills then me could likely cover it in a few paragraphs. I do think it would be nice to have. I love this site and use it as a reference. A whole game pack missing feels wrong. Yes I know Bust the Dust had more to it but still.

Anyway @Carl, love the site and the YouTube videos. You are my favorite content creator. Just a suggestion. I would write one for you but my writing skills are questionable at best. Thank you. I do understand not wanting a guide for a pack with next to no game play.

Yeah, probably so. Just to describe what's in it. I'll likely tackle this when I make the page for the next one. It's still far enough out that I'd have a lot of modification to do and find it outdated very quickly. I've been finishing up a project that has taken an entire month (unrelated to Sims) and plan to get done before I go back, as it's easier the fresher it is on my mind and much more efficient when time is short.

Since this was the original thread that asked about it, I am skipping DHD right now but I am working on a page about CL -- er, Cottage Living, that I expect to have out tomorrow. I will do full guides to this pack unlike DHD. I'm just getting perhaps a bit rebellious. I didn't cover Journey to Batuu nor DHD though the latter does deserve to be on the site. If I just don't have a lot of content to make guides about it makes me yawn and I seek other topics to cover on my channel or pursue my hobbies...

There are some youtube videos about people using dream home decorator to update homes .. it took me about five or six of the videos to realise the reason that it looked like Sims 4 was that it was some kind of pack dealing with Sims 4.

@Carl I get why you skipped those packs, Batuu had enough game play to cover but none of it mattered outside of Batuu and it barely matters there. DHD game play does matter at least the little there is but there is so little of it you would be hard pressed to find enough of it to cover to make a whole article about it. If you can't tell this are my least favorite packs too, well add Bust the Dust, and Dine Out to complete the packs I regret getting, and I have them all.

@Deklitch a streamer's pack disguised as a builder's pack disguised as a gameplay pack :)

@scoed I can handle a lot of stuff but if I can't even tell it's installed in any meaningful way when I'm not playing that content it's a major blow to me. Expansions and game packs should be noticeable after installation - at least with gameplay objects to buy and/or new goals to pursue - whether you dig into the content directly or not.

So I feel good that I got a page + cheats out about the new pack but since it could be misinterpreted as me not wanting to cover this, my review is very delayed due to a problem with my neck. I can code, write a bit, but can't use the mouse heavily as I need to in order to edit a Sims video (nor get several hours of footage for said video or guide pictures). So I'm kind of crippled for the moment but it's been improving by taking some time off and is at least a sign of hope. I am getting better but am afraid to head straight into repeating the injury. I over did it in the last 30 days or so working on Sims + a Blender addon at the same time and constant PC usage and paid the price. Spending some time with my girlfriend away from PC for a couple days then I'll get back to Sims!

Nothing has worked so I'm attempting physical therapy/exercises so that perhaps I can find some pain relief. It is absolutely too much for me to just ignore and get things done. I used to push through it, but the pain was less and I had a much greater passion for things. Unfortunately that just made it worse. Those two combined have kept me going a few months but now I just crave normalcy before this ...whatever. Reminds me of carpal tunnel and how that develops. Not yet going to a Dr. as that'd be a blow needing a specialist but I'm smart enough on kinesthetics that I should be able to target the area.

I had trouble with my right shoulder a couple of months ago. My doctor recommended naproxen sodium for inflammation, and physical therapy. The anti-inflammatory medicine helped, and when I finally got an appointment with a PT, that helped too. One recommendation -- to prop my arm up on a rolled-up towel while I slept. And I tried using my left hand on the mouse instead of my right, and even - gasp - going for a day or two without using the computer at all.

Hope there's something useful in the above. And if you do see a doctor, you might be able to get a cortisone shot, which should help.

Carl,

First, I assume you're using some form of wrist brace. This is good - very likely to be helpful.

Second: use a trackball.

When using any pointer-based activity in the computer, we're doing small-movement tasks. Our fingers are designed for, intended for small-movement tasks. Precision tasks.

A mouse uses our shoulders and arm muscles. The large-movement muscles. Shoulder and arm muscles should be used for big movements. Spears and scythes. Or for more modern stuff, basketballs and lat-pulldown bars.

A pencil, a spoon and a trackball use the small movement muscles.

Adjusting to using a trackball when you've always used a mouse is difficult, I fully understand that. But shifting to a trackball really really helped me. I was pushing through agony to use my mouse. I decided it was worth a try. Now? No wrist problems at all.

I strongly recommend the sort of trackball where you move the ball with your fingers, not your thumb.

The first trackball I used was a Logitech 'Trackman Marble'. It's good enough, but the lack of a middle mouse key makes it only barely useful in the modern era.

The second I used was the Kensington 'Expert Mouse'. I liked it better than the Logitech, but if you can't span an octave on a piano with your hands it's kind of stretchy.

I now use an Elecom Deft. Downside: the default manual is in Japanese and the translator doesn't have the best grasp on English grammar. Upside: that's the worst downside.
If you can span an octave on a piano, try using the Huge variant.

I'm not intending to provide medical advice, this is strictly patient-to-patient talk.
And I'm not intending to promote trackballs as some sort of Trackball Expert or Trackball Guru. The switch to trackballs worked for me. I hope that others with the same problem find this helpful. Specifically (at the moment), Carl.

You are my go-to with all Sims info, Carl. I value you, and I value the invisible-to-me support Pam was. May her spirit live on in memory, and may her good wishes be with you all your life.

Tarrel.
