I know we need to buy a furnished house, but do we then set the family funds to zero? Or will buying a more cheaply furnished house affect the total at the end?

It's part of the strategy. You do not set your funds to zero. Everyone starts with the same amount of $$$, so you need to make choices as to what house to get, etc.

You don't have to do anything with the family funds. The house is your choice.

If there are two items from a single collection in a photo - like two pets, or a desk and chair, or something - can we count that one photo as 2 unique items? Or do we need to take one pic of the desk and one pic of the chair in order to count them?

Piper Razzi sold her 210 photos to finish with a household funds total of $4393. She completed all 7 collections. Her total score is 4393 x 1.7 = 7468.

I see that about items from two different collections only counting as one... Does that also apply to two items from the same collection? Like if I took one pic of a desk and a chair together, would that count as two items from the Furniture collection, or just one?

One photo would count as one piece of furniture. If you took 2 photos, of the desk and chair, you could count both. One photo can only be included in one collection.

Selma Adams completed all seven collections and ended up with §10,023 in the bank.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge once I got started.  But I am so done taking pictures now.

I have completed only one collection and my final household funds are 3,057 - so my score is 3,362.
