Preferred vehicle in Ambitions

Hi again.

My firefighting Sim finally became Fire Chief.  He's got his own personal fire alarm and fire engine.  The thing that I hate is that the fire engine becomes his "preferred vehicle", overriding the private vehicle that I had chosen as his preferred.  Is there any way to stop this from happening or is this just a permanent "bug"?

I am still not sure about this, as I've never played the firefighter career before. When I've had my Sim have a car for their preferred vehicle and the game forgets it or whatnot I just re-select their car as their preferred vehicle.

Or is this something you've tried and the game is just not allowing it to stick?  If that's the case, it may be a bug. I'm not sure how to fix that.

Thanks Mrs Flynn.  I will do a re-select with the fire engine as the preferred vehicle, then switch back to my Sim's automobile.  Hopefully that will work.  If not, I'll chalk it up to being a bug.
