Do It As You Go/ISBI in Moonlight Falls
« on: April 28, 2021, 11:46:04 PM »
Hi, This is a restart of the Do It As You Go/ISBI challenge b/c the other one was completely messed up. I hadn't played it for a little while and when I loaded it, the couple were just shy of becoming elders and no children at all. On top of that, the cat which the mother and father/founders had was still alive and just shy of elder. Anyway, this is a new start  so let's go.

I started of w/a couple and rolled Pudding Pop for her name, and no makeup and glasses. My rolls for him were George, Loner, and Least Fav Hairdo. According to the rules, I have to choose between Insane, Inappropriate, Childish, Absent Minded, and Unstable. I chose Inappropriate. His other traits are family oriented and good sense of humor. Her traits are neat, family oriented, natural cook, childish (required) and ambitious. Since the couple were very tight in money, I also chose the extra sim roll which we can roll once. I got "Father in Law." My rolls for the father in law are Forrest Gump, bald, and lots of makeup.
One more note, I did no build the house this time. I got it from TSR. It also has a full basement.

Pudding Pop is n the Culinary career and George Is in Sports. I gave him the athletic trait and so far he works out on his own. Fingers crossed that he will continue.

My event rolls so far have been "Gardening" and "Vacation." For the first one I had to have her plant 5 plants and keep them alive for 3 days. That was easy! Next they have to take a vacation and since I can't sell anything, I'm using Traveler to take them to another world. The only other option was to have them live in a park for 3 days. I would have to turn free will off to do that. We'll see how this one develops.

Well, so much for her ltw and also George's ltw. My current event is "make all sims in your household join the military. You're not allowed to quit until you have the opportunity to do so."  : /  Somewhat on the plus side though, Forrest is also required to work. That'll bring in a little bit more money.

What I could do is use the "change lifetime wish" ltr  She has enough pts.

My next event was three additional events. First was adopt as many babies as you can. FIVE babies!  Three girls and two boys. My rolls for the first baby, a boy (Luke) were black eyes, highlights in his hair, and least  fav hair do. Next is Amy, Vegetarian, rainbow hair, and neat. Next is (rolled name) Clark Kent, neat, and unibrow. Next is Amina, perfect traits, long hair, and stupid shirt. Last of all is Princess Leah (rolled), white hair, and first outfit in wood tones. This will be interesting. The next one was motherlode (NICE!!), and then Medieval! Sell ALL electric items in the house including the fridge and stove. They have oil lamps for lights and they'll be living off of roasted veggies and fish for 3 days. I had also rolled another extra 3 events, but that got used up re-rolling b/c it came up w/steal a baby and adopt more babies neither of which I can do right now. Something else interesting is that both Pudding Pop and George had a wish to "have a child with" and the adoption satisfied that wish for both of them. This whole thing will be interesting. I highly doubt that I'll get all of the babies trained. Also, it's a good thing I rolled "motherlode" b/c  they'll have to buy everything that is electric again in three days.

Thanks Nella!

Sorry for the long wait. I've had more than a few problems w/this on this go around. I found out that one of my fb games takes up a ton of CPU space and combined w/the sims which also takes up a ton, not a good idea for both of them going at the same time. The fb game devs have a "million and one" projects going all of the time. : /

Anyway on w/the update. In my last event, the roll was to put the whole family (I found out afterwards that the rule says that Forrest Gump (the extra sim) is not allowed to work) so just Pudding Pop and George. Both of them are doing great and George is actually working on his athletic skill willingly! Pudding Pop had a few athletic points already so she was at an advantage. I am allowed to change Pudding Pop's ltw, but not George's so she had enough pts to change to "surrounded by family." I also found out that I wasn't able to give George or Forrest any roasted veggies; When Pudding Pop roasted a veggie, her only option was to eat it. From the original "Gardening" event roll they still had  the small veggie garden. I still had problems w/George and Forrest eating the veggies in their inventory even when I selected them as if to give them something to do. A couple of times, they actually came to the point of starvation! I was shouting "eat your fruit you idiot!!!!!!!!" Part of the problem was that they had 5 babies to take care of. They made it through it though! Here are some pics of the toddlers:

First is Luke whose rolls are black eyes, highlights, and least fav hair. The buzz cut hair is the best I can do for a toddler:

Then Amy whose rolls are vegetarian, rainbow hair, and neat. In addition to that, I chose inappropriate which is required.

Then Clark Kent who is neat and will have the uni brow which won't show up until teen or YA.

Then Amina who is supposed to have perfect traits (except for one), long hair, and a stupid shirt.

Last of all there is Princess Leah who has white hair and her first outfit has to be in wood tones.

Also, here is a pic of the baby's room in the medieval house: The empty spot is where the fridge was.

To get the toddlers all trained, I set the toddler life span to 10 days. I just barely made it and that was w/keeping Pudding Pop home for one day when she was supposed to work. I'm not sure why though, but there was no option to call in sick and she did have a cold so I just took the hit.
About this time, it was time for the buy/build roll. I rolled "surround the property w/a fence and if there is already a fence, put another one around. There was no fence so I just had to put one around. My event roll was to "redecorate a room." I chose to redecorate the entire house and put bedrooms and bathrooms into the basement for the kids since they could afford it. There was one time when she was training the toddlers when I forgot to pay the bills and the repo man came. Fortunately, the only thing he took was the cheap stereo. :) George is lev 7 in his athletic skill now, nice! My latest event roll is promotion! Nice again! Pudding Pop gets a promotion. Just before the toddlers were completely trained, it was time for "gramps," Forrest Gump to pass. He served his purpose. He begged Grim not to take him, but it was to no avail. The next day at work, both Pudding Pop and George to the popup to change jobs. Pudding Pop to Lieutenant in the Law Enforcement career. I declined b/c she still had to finish training the toddlers and I really don't like doing all of the reports. George got the same opportunity for Law Enforcement, but a lower level. There was absolutely NO WAY he would ever get any reports, lol so I declined again. I'll have more pics soon.

I played this for a little bit last night. The kids finally grew up to child age! Unfortunately, my game totally locked up last time and I had to restart and do the toddlers all over again. I also didn't roll any events while she was training the toddlers b/c it would have just been too much. This time though, I discovered how to have her call in sick so she wouldn't take a hit in job performance. In the first couple of days, 3 of the children didn't go to school and the next day they all went to school, but the boys "decided to skip classes" and got failing grades. George also skipped one day of work. Hopefully, things will go a bit smoother next time. I made bedrooms w/bunk beds and extra bathrooms in the basement for the kids. I did roll for an event now and got the "Blue Skin Disease." I made George get it. Here are some pics:

First is Luke and one of his rolls was my least fav hair. That's still hard to do w/a child so I just gave him the bowl cut.

Then Amy w/the Rainbow hair and yellow eyes

Then Clark Kent who will have the uni-brow,but that won't show up until he's at least a teen or maybe a YA

Next is Amina whose rolls were long hari and a stupid shirt.

Last of all there is Princess Leah who is normal

Again gramps (Forrest Gump) passed and he begged Grim for his life, but Grim said "no way, you're coming w/me."

Then George and his "Blue Skin Disease."

Before Gramps passed and before George got the blue skin disease, they enjoyed playing in the sandbox that I got for the children to help keep them occupied and keep them from "fighting" over the ping pong table and dart board. Interestingly, neither one had or has the childish trait.

ONe last thing is everybody grieving over Gramps' passing

That's all for now.

I made very little progress. Gramps had passed after everybody had gone to bed. That caused them to wake up, get out of bed and mourn. After that it was a complete disaster! All 5 kids wanted dad to read them a bedtime story which resulted in several peeing selves and passing out from 0 energy. Then when they did use the bathroom, at least 3 sims would crowd into one bathroom (it was fairly small) and traffic jams would ensue. Mind you, there were three other bathrooms, but they ALL wanted to use the one! I have since made those bathrooms a little bigger to try to prevent future traffic jams. Then more "bedtime stories" and more passing out, LOL. Pudding Pop was the only one for a couple of nights who got any sleep! After that and after all of the kids went to school, Clark Kent skipped school a few times and the one where I got the pic, he was heading around to the back to play chess. I guess that's MUCH more fun than sitting in class, lol George is lev 8 in athletics now and Pudding Pop is working on her athletic pts also as well as her handiness pts. Also, one night Clark Kent set a booby trap on the comp and I didn't notice it until later. He desperately needed the boost so I had Pudding Pop play chess on it and you know the rest, lol.

Clark Kent Skipping School

Luke wasn't too far behind either, but he's not failing *yet. He has a D and seems to go to school just enough to keep from getting an F, lol

His Successful Prank

The kids are now teens and it's time for Pudding Pop to have a natural child or 2. It's also time for my next roll and if I roll adopt or steal kids, I'll have to pass it up. There's just no room. My score so far is +10:

"+5 for each friend an Idiot has: 3. Total so far 15
Heir Fulfilling her LTW: +40
Self wetting  -5 each: Total so far -25
Passing Out -5 each: Total so far -25
NPC visit -5: Total -5 (Repo man)
For each sim who fails school: Total so far -20 (Clark Kent)
Last is for every 100k Simoleons +20: Total so far +20 (from rolling the motherlode plus normal income).

My score so far is +20

Here are the pics of the teens:

First is Luke

Then Amy

then Clark Kent

Then Amina w/her stupid shirt

Last of all is Princess Leah

So far, Amy skipped school on the first day, but it didn't affect her grade. Probably b/c she hadn't been to high school yet. Clark Kent as always has already skipped school once and so far has a D. Princess Leah and Luke have B grades. Hopefully, one of them can get on the honor roll. Both Pudding Pop and George got the "learn Martial Arts" opportunity and since they're not allowed to travel, I bought the training dummy in buy debug. I clicked on OK for both of them and was hoping that George would use it and he did! Now some of the teens are also using it. It's too bad that I can't sell anything b/c the board breaking once it gets to space rock blocks, is VERY lucrative. My current roll is to make your sim do something they would regret (Narwhal). I've not decided what to do yet. Oh and Pudding Pop is expecting her first natural child which will be a boy. Once the other kids are gone and moved out, she can have another child then that will be all of the kids for her. 7 children to raise is FAR more than enough! LOL

Great re-start Sonshine!

Is it one of the natural children that has to become the new heir?

I've forgotten more of the ISBI rules than I remember, though one thing stays the same, the craziness! :)

I don't think it needs to be a natural child to be heir, but I really don't care that much for the others' looks tbh. Princess Leah is the best one of the bunch, lol. I've also set the toddler age span back to about 5 days again. Last time, there was just no way I could possibly train 5 toddlers in 5 days!

As it stands now, a couple of the kids are still skipping school on a regular basis. No F's in high school just yet, but it can't be long before that happens. In my last attempt, I didn't any of my kids skip school so I'm not sure why that's happening now. Go figure! lol

Here is a very small update. First the birth of Winston (it means victory),

and Luke skipping school. He has 0 energy. Well, if he'd go to bed and not stay up all night, he'd have the energy!!! LOL

Here is another small update. First of all, here is Winston as a toddler:

Then as a child

As far as the teens grades go, Luke has a D b/c he's always skipping school, but he seems to go to school enough to stay *just* above the F line, lol. the girls all have B's. Princess Leah had an A, but then guess what? lol Believe it or not though, Clark Kent has an A!! Luke had a wish to learn to drive so I had Pudding Pop teach him and then she had a wish to teach Princess Leah so I had Pudding Pop teach her. George actually master his athletic skill and also has lev 3 in Martial Arts. Amy has 5 athletic pts and 1 Martial Arts, Amina has 5 pts in both, and Princess Leah has 6 pts in athletic and 2 in Martial Arts. On the night that Pudding Pop taught her to drive she decided to stay out and go to the fire station to work out. She didn't come home until midnight , lol

The teens have 2 days left until YA, then they'll be booted out. Pudding Pop can then have her last child. She has a few days left til elder.
