Hey guys
These days, I suffer from serious attention deficiency. Despite all the best intentions, I just can't focus.
But yesterday, the Nix family of Moonlight Falls caught my attention while I was watching a YouTube video by The Sims Lore (really good channel!) - about Moonlight Falls. So, I decided to go there and had some fun looking around with Ayden Van Gould (love that guy). When he met Annie Nix at the library, I switched to the Nix household and have been playing with that all day today. I really love this little family of three, their cozy little home, and their overall "averageness".
Before I could really play them, however, I felt compelled to address a problem with age. Because, apparently, it is a common thing among premades that they become pregnant and parents while still in their teens. This is so annoying! Therefore, I added a meaningful amount of days to Annie and Mike's ages, so that they had Mara when they were a few days into their young adulthood instead of in their mid-teens.
Annie's lifetime wish to become a culinary librarian is pretty simple to achieve. Mike's is to become leader of the free world which makes no sense at all. His and Annie's bios state that he went to medical school and is now a doctor - which he is and a level 8 one at that - and that his true passion is fishing. He is a loner, but politics require a high charisma skill and involves throwing fundraising parties among other things. How on Earth (or Simnation) did he get the idea to become a political leader?? But, I know that there are at least a few other residents in Moonlight Falls with really weird lifetime wishes that do not correspond with their personalities whatsoever. The creators seem to have had a love for creating impossible Sims.
All that aside, though, I find it interesting to learn all about premades. Including what their relationship with other residents are. Mike, for instance, is friends with the teen, Joe MacDuff, who is the "ordinary" twin with no witch powers. I can't help but speculate that he wants Joe to become his daughter, Mara's, spouse.
Currently, in my game, Annie is learning a bit of alchemy while I'm forcing Mike to become that political leader he apparently so yearns to be. And I don't care about the number of red moodlets that spawns for him. He wants this, he will get it
In weekends, he and Mara go fishing, as they are both anglers. They bond this way. Annie would rather sit back with a good book. So, that is what is doing. When she is not collecting things with her new collection helper.
Do any of you play with the Nix family or have a thing for a different Moonlight Falls household?
