Strangerville unmitigated mystery--has anyone tried? Spoiler Alert

Hi everyone. 


After playing through the Strangerville mystery, I wondered what exactly would happen if it was not solved..

I'll try to word myself in vague terms here for those who haven't solved it... But at any rate, I'll add a Spoiler Alert.

I was curious, if a Sim entered through all the gates, with what happens at that time, but did NOT solve the mystery challenge; that is, nobody does anything to solve it, what exactly would happen?

So my Sim is about 3 sim weeks past the full trigger of the adventure, --trying my best to be obtuse here as to not ruin the fun for anyone, and I am planning to just keep it going for a Sim year or better.

So far things are interesting, but I am hoping they get even more interesting.

Have any of you done this already? I'm curious to learn what your experiences were. In deliberately obfuscated terms of course...

I don't want to ruin anyone's fun.

My assumption is that nothing happens, and you can play forever in the final stage if you wanted to.  Eventually I would get tired of unclogging the plumbing every time I used it, and go finish it already.
But if something DOES eventually happen, I'd love to hear about it!

I have the game running @ speed 3 and will let it run for some hours.

Some things were different after 3 Sim months, will update—with giant spoiler alert attached—when I pause the game.

The game stays in what ever stage it is in in the story. Nothing cool happens. Nothing changes, well, unless you use cheats, or well, kill the mother plant on another lot placing it there with cheats. I never killed the mother plant off world. Does anyone know what happens if you do kill it off world? Yes you can cheat that thing any place you want I once built an apocalypse type world with a mother plant in the park. It was pre Eco Lifestyle so I didn't have the trash clutter I needed to make it good. But I had fun building it.

I ran the experiment for 6 Sim months bf I got tired of it and picked my main game back up.

What I noticed: GIANT SPOILER ALERT, don't open unless you want your surprise thoroughly ruined.

Sky keeps getting weirder / darker - have not seen this level off yet.
Twigs in plumbing increase in intensity and then level off; however--when a gardener Sim starts killing the child plants, the twigs seem to appear faster (start to finish in how they grow in each instance). The rate of which they appear seems to have leveled out.
Sounds outside seem to level off after about 5 months.
About 4 months in, the locals are much more scared - but this too levels off.
The infected people which come to visit the sim rate will level off - about 5 Sim months in I would say; and then they taper off sharply.
It never gets uber interesting for a morbid mind like mine, but it was worth a try.

I have never thought of placing Mother in another world. That's a very good idea! Also for testing out how many ways it can be killed. I will definitely try that at some point.

What I did think of was to graft the Cowplant with the child plants. Have not tried yet though.
