Just to make sure for myself and everyone else: is the Alien prohibited to use anyone's help when building the Rocket (both the playable sims and the townies?)

That is correct.  The alien needs to do all the work on the rocket.

I think there are only 15 potions.

There are 15 plus one more which appears when you fail to make a worthy potion.

I still cannot figure out the 16th potion with numerous practice trials and google searches. This is my first time ever attempting a spellcaster, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. If answering this is discussing game play, I will continue my search, but I am afraid to start my actual file until I know the solution to this.

I was looking into this and each potion has a regular version and a hexed version.  The goal has been changed from learn 16 potions to create 16 unique potions.

Hello.  I have really enjoyed my practice runs so far.  This is a great challenge.  I have a few questions.  I think I know the answers, but I want to be sure.  Am I correct that the requirement to complete all tasks themselves means that the Spellcaster must source all their own ingredients? Can they harvest from plants one of the others have tended? Can they open seed packets someone else has bought?  Can they use ingredients obtained by others for potions to consume which are not being counted toward their task?

Edit: Another question I thought of.  Do the 16 new vampires have to undergo the full transformation before they are counted, or do they count as soon as they've "consumed the essence of a vampire"?

Vampires count when the game counts them, which is once they have consumed the essence.

Yes, the spellcaster needs to source their own ingredients.  Harvesting and purchasing should be done by the spellcaster.

I had lots of fun with this challenge! I finished on Week 2, Wednesday, at 8:36pm. So I think my score is 15,156 minutes.

Unfortunately I managed to electrocute my spellcaster trying to change the weather to save my vampire who got surprised by dawn far from home at almost no energy left.  And after all that my vampire made it home okay anyway.  Sigh...This run was going so much better than any of my practice runs too.  Oh well, I had a lot of fun.
