Four Life States? Four Sure!

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Goal
Four different Sims. Four different life-states. Four sets of goals. Four Sure!

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. Exceptions are noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create four Young Adults — one of each: Vampire, Spellcaster, Alien, Mermaid.
  • Cannot add to the household.
  • Each sim must complete their own goals.  Mermaids must complete their own collections
  • Space missions can be canceled if they are not unique.
  • Required collections need to stay until the end of the challenge.
  • Odd jobs do not have to be unique.
  • For vampire powers that have tiers, each tier counts as a power.
  • This challenge ends when each Sim has completed/reached their specific goals. If one Sim dies before all four have completed their goals, then post in the thread a DNF.

Life State Goals

Vampire: Become a Grand Master • Purchase 16 powers • Turn 16 new vampires • Complete Vampire Family Aspiration
Spellcaster: Become a Virtuoso Spellcaster • Learn 16 Spells • Create 16 unique potions • Complete both Spellcaster Aspirations
Alien: Build a rocket • Complete 16 unique missions • Find and Resurrect 16 dead aliens (collectibles) • Complete Nerd Brain Aspiration
Mermaid: Master fitness skill • Collect complete Seashell collection • Collect complete Buried Treasure collection • Complete 16 Odd Jobs

Scoring

Time (Minutes): When all four Sims have completed their goals, pause your game and note the Week, Day, and hour. Plug the information into [Lena's Spreadsheet] to give you the total minutes for your score.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else, we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
If you have questions and need clarifications, ask away — you can either post your questions in this thread, or if you feel a question might reveal a particular strategy you are considering, then feel free to PM the team. Choose the My Messages tab > Send Message > Send to Group (show membergroups) > Check the Challenge Board Moderator group.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event. The winner is expected to provide detailed information on their strategy. Keep notes as you play your file.

This feels like exactly my type of thing, even though I never play alternate life states.

Practice file time!

Played around with it a bit (ok, a lot) today.
I think there are only 15 potions.  Also, I'm not sure how to count the astronaut missions.

For the Vampire powers with tiers (e.g., "Occult Student," "Occult Disciple," "Occult Master.") is that 3 powers or just one?

Each level/tier counts as a power, so those would be 3 powers.

I think there are only 15 potions.

There are 15 plus one more which appears when you fail to make a worthy potion.

Also, I'm not sure how to count the astronaut missions.

When the mission starts and you get the first chance card, there is a title of the mission. So just write down the ones you've stumbled upon.

- Can we use Rally the Troops?
- Can we drink the Potion of Plentiful Needs?
- Can we use the Wishing Well?
- Is a space mission considered complete just when the ship lands back, no matter the result and the amount of steps we went through?
- Do completed Odd Jobs have to be unique?

Unless Teresa jumps in and disagrees with me, @Nikitachi I will say yes to all of your questions except for the odd jobs. We're keeping the bans to a minimum in this event. So, if you do not see something banned, assume you're good to go. But, asking is still not a bad idea. We could decide to make a change this week.

Two questions about the collections:
- Is the Mermaid the only sim who's allowed to search for collection items, or can the other sims help too?
- Once an item is collected, does it have to stay till the end of the game, or can it be sold/used?

Sounds fun I've never played with a mermaid before so that should be fun.

Yes the mermaid is the only allowed to search for collectibles.
Yes the collection needs to stay until the end of the challenge.

Each sim must complete their own goals.

Just to make sure for myself and everyone else: is the Alien prohibited to use anyone's help when building the Rocket (both the playable sims and the townies?)
