What traits would you choose and if possible why?

Mine would be:
Insane it comes in handy that a Sim can talk to themselves if they have not got time to go out and make friends or they cannot afford a computer.
Bookworm Easy fun raiser.
Neat I know it is boring but I think it is a handy trait to have.
Ambitious

Replace Insane with Green Thumb and I will be your man. They can talk to plants than. Needs a little bit more things to click but I think it has more benefits.
Besides that: Work Aholic, Family Orientated, Neat and Natural Coock will work out pretty well also.
Hmm, sounds like a ultimate Butler to me...

Ambitious, Good Sense of Humour, Natural Cook, Green Thumb and Bookworm. Mainly because most challanges include Gardening or Cooking. But those two traits can be replaced with other skill traits sometimes.

I do agree that having the Bookworm trait will benefit in a lot of situations, but when you've reached level 10 in all the skills you wanted you don't really need it anymore.
Correct me if I'm wrong folks.

Neurotic - simply for the freak out option and easy lifetime happiness points.
Ambitious.
Lucky.
Loves the outdoors - it's easy to do everything outdoors.
Perfectionist - for better quality of... whatever the challenge involves  :P

I couldn't a hundred percent decide on the last trait I was waiting for replies to give me inspiration. I still cannot decide probably something like natural cook because all Sims have to eat unless you cheat and have moods static.

For me it would have to be:
Perfectionist-simply for the sake of higher quality (fill in the blank)
Ambitious-More LTP the better
Charismatic-Making friends is a snap with this trait
Brave- My Sims always get robbed or have stuff catch on fire and I hate when they panic.
Neat- They will clean stuff automatically thus reducing the negative "Dirty Surroundings" moodlet that can occur.

Natural cook is good since your sim can get a nice moodlet from eating good food. But it always takes so long for them to cook (and if they live alone and use the serve option the food will spoil pretty fast). Nowadays I just chuck some fruits in their inventory and have them munch on them every now and then.

My choices:
Ambitious (both for career and LTPs)
Friendly/Charismatic (for making friends)
Neat (although I wouldn't waste it on a specific challenge but it seems to be a good trait in general)
Born Salesman (for self employment but I have been having consignment store bugs lately)
Lucky (another good-in-general trait)

My five favourite traits by far:
Over Emotional for the huge happiness boost as it generally keeps my happiness bar at full.(Thanks Carl!)
Loves the outdoors for the epic +20 mood boost outside which is amazing for any sim.
Ambitious for the extra LTH points and also a small bonus is that it helps people going for careers. my only complaint about this trait is that every now and then you get the anxious to advance moodlet but I suppose that's nothing the moodlet manager can't sort out   ;D
Virtuoso- not everyones cup of tea but I'm a big fan of self employed musicians *cough* performances abuse *cough* and this trait gives you an extra master track (although on my guitarist I got 2 ballad of the raider master tracks, is that normal?) and no sim can call themselves a musician without it.
The last trait really I couldn't decide on completely.
It's probably out of charismatic and green thumb depending on whether I can be bothered to do gardening.

as for the natural cook option I don't really see it giving much benefit. if you stick at a sim long enough you will eventually make perfect meals every time without it. Alright, you apparently cannot burn food or something like that but has anyone actually done that accidenally?
