Gripe about the Sims Fandom Wiki pages
« on: March 10, 2021, 02:17:14 AM »
I'm really, really annoyed that folks over there constantly write that a sim needs blah amount of skill points to advance in their career, but "strangely" only has blah amount.

When do these people realize that the lit up skill point levels simply indicate what a sim needs as minimum to receive a promotion? Sims still get promoted if they have the minimum skill level, it just takes longer. They don't need all the lit up skill points.

It's really annoying when folks editing and writing the wiki don't seem to know the basic workings of the game. I did make some changes over there here and there, but it's a momentous task to correct all sim profiles :-\

In general the "you must achieve X metric to be promoted" is wrong and shockingly is not just people thinking that TS4's job mechanics are TS3's because this predates TS4's release. Yes this is about the "need" to have celebrities on to complete both film careers. I love the wiki as a resource but as with any wiki there are people resistant to corrected information. I'd state my pet peeve in detail (it's how to classify eye colors) but you can find it on talk pages, so I will not. :P It doesn't hold a candle to some Wikipedia wars I've seen though.

That also bugs me, especially since in TS3 you can get promoted without having any of the skills.
