Buying/Selling Houses

I've been puzzling over this for a while. Sim A builds a (spec) house on an empty lot paying for it out of his own pocket? Sim B decides they like the house and want to buy it. Does Sim A get the simoleons back? If not, where do they go?

When they (Sim Family A) move out they usually get the money from selling the house.

When a new family (Sim Family B) buys the house, the builder family (Sim Family A) doesn't get the sales money from the new family buying the house. The game doesn't calculate that.

Thanks. That's what I thought and it was kind of a dumb question but that's where my brain goes when it won't stop talking to itself at 3:00 a.m.

So far no real estate commissions or vendor/buyer transactions mods that I've seen in the Sims 3...YET.
