Objects keep turning black

All the objects keep turning black, even the walls and even if you delete and rebuy they are still black.  Anyone got any ideas?  It is driving me mad and I am thinking of not playing the game any more.

If I'm not mistaken, there may be something wrong with your graphics card and or it may not be up to par with the Sims 3 requirements. Again, I'm not really sure about that.

i have just changed my graphics card and it was running fine until i installed late nite on a few days ago! Could it be that my pc is just not up to the job anymore?? It is a few years old now

Not sure. I think that Late night has diffrents specs then the other game, but my computer seems to play it fine (Well... Almost fine).

When EA launched Late Night, they didn't see anything wrong with changing the minimun requirements to something higher. This got tricky to many people, and might be the same cause for the problem you're having.

You may try updating your graphics card and directx. In case that doesn't work, it would help if you posted how much RAM and VM (free HD space) you have, so that we can find the cause.

I was just going to say that.  In my older computer, I have the sims3 and have a 6200 nvidia card and the graphics are turned down to the lowest and sometimes things turn black and sometimes it turns white, like snow.  I do not play on that one anymore, because I cannot put another graphics card in there, but, yes, it does sound like a graphics card problem.

My game is doing this, too.  I have posted the problem here.

Even after re-installing the game, it still does it.  Also, I only have the base game.

The last time I updated from the correct place, my computer got stuffed, so I am not trusting anything ever.  Also, it was working perfectly until I installed Sunlight Skyes.

What do you mean your computer got "stuffed"?  Also, there is no town called Sunlight Skies.  It would be Aurora Skies or Sunlit Tides.
