After a Sim dies, any Sim in the household can invite the dead Sim's ghost back into the household.

What if a Sim dies, but stays as a household member on his/her own? Is it fine?
(there is a type of death that does that)

No, this is not allowed. The sim must die and then be invited back into the household as a ghost. The only way I know of for that to happen is with Beetle Juice, which is not allowed per the rules. If there's another one, please let me know so I can add it to the rules.

I was referring to the Wishing Well. I have never experienced this myself, but I read about it.

- Can several sims complete the same aspiration just for points, as long as I only count it once for the unique one?
- Are death by extreme cold and death by extreme heat considered being two different types of death, or is it the same type ("weather")?

No, "unique" is intended to mean no other sim completes the same aspiration - other sims can do the same aspiration partially, but can not complete it.

Those are two different types.

Finished Wednesday of week 2 at 4:15 am total score of 14415 minutes. I know what I could have done differently but that's life or in this case death.

Aw thank you Teresa I have to admit that was one of the oddest bunch of Sims I have ever played. Was a lot of fun.

What should one do if the option to invite a ghost back into the household just won't show up?

Make sure the friendship bar is completely filled.  The offer only shows up at that point.

If it is still not showing up, then it sounds like a bug unless it is a special sim that already has weird coding from EA?

I struggled inviting famous sims back into the family I gave up on judith in the end and used another sim. My non famous sims were all added back relatively quickly.

Actually, in my test runs, it does show up perfectly for other ghosts as long as the alive sim and the ghost are just friends, which is nowhere near the full bar. I just stumbled upon a problem with one certain ghost... let alone the fact that yesterday, in a previous test run, I killed her too and easily invited her back. But in today's file, something went wrong. I even tried inviting her by several different sims - same.
I will try to fill the bar completely, though, and let you know. Thanks Teresa!

Yeah let me know.  Maybe it is the sim in particular, but now I am curious to figure out how it works since I know my first few sims required a full bar to get the option and after that I didn't even try until they were maxed out.

I've got a question about distinguishing between death types: from the trait the game gives a ghost based on their method of death, the two ways an elder can overexert themselves (exercise & woohoo) both count as "Death by Overexertion", which I fully expected, but apparently the death caused by contributing too much to Discover University's research machine is as well. That comes as a slight surprise, given that it feels very much distinct from the other means of overexertion, but it's what the game thinks is so... should I therefore be considering all three demises to be the same type?

Yes, those are all 1 death type - Death by Overexertion.
