Rachel,  I had this happen in another file and it has to be gifted successfully to count.  Meaning they have to like the gift (green positive) not a red negative sign.  It took my sim 4 attempts to get 3 positive reactions and to check off the milestone

I have also seen a bug report along these lines, though some commenters report that using the "Gift..." interaction on the object when it's in your inventory works regardless so I don't know if it'll be relevant to you. The reason I came across it was 'cause I was searching for the bug I appear to be suffering from, where legendary-quality knits don't count towards the tier 3 goal to "complete 10 Excellent knits"... I'll need to poke the problem at my end a bit more this afternoon before I can say for sure that that's what's been happening, mind...

finished with a total of 7410 minutes.

Def beatable but it was my official scoring file so I couldn't bring myself to start again.

I have been given permission to share this little bit of information/strategy. I discovered that if my sim gifted knitwear from inventory there was a higher chance of the gift being accepted by the other sim. 3 out of 5 on average. When I tried gifting through the friendly interaction I had zero success with 30 plus attempts over 3 different save files.
Hope this helps anyone struggling with completing that aspiration milestone.
Special thanks to @Sruixan for putting me in the right direction for a solution.

Thank you for this tip @ratchie. I didn't even know that you could offer the knitted objects by clicking on the targeted sim,so I didn't have this problem!
None of my gifts was refused.

And thanks to the team for this quick and fun challenge!
My sims finished on Thursday (week 1) at 7:32 PM ->6452 minutes

This challenge gave me the perfect excuse to jump back into the Sims after a bit of a break. I really wanted to try out the new knitting stuff.

I finished after 10242 minutes.

I'm looking forward to hearing everyone else's knitting secrets :)

I will never again complain about needing to get masterpiece paintings.

This was a fun one, if a little frustrating.

I seem to be having a version of this bug:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-NKSP-Legendary-Knitting-Doesn-t-Count-for-Excellent-Knits/td-p/9358788

My Sim is at the part of the aspiration where she has to knit 10 excellent things. Legendary items aren't getting counted for this (with one mysterious exception).

She has knitted 10 items that were either excellent or legendary but the game has only counted 5.

Can I mark this milestone as completed (using a cheat), do I just keep knitting, or is there another solution?

Go ahead and count it, Nandarelle.
