Getting Sims 3 to Recognize RTX 2070 Super?

Hey all!

This forum, especially MrsFlynn posts helped me tremendously when I needed to get my GTX 1060 working with the Sims 3. However, I've tried searching the forums and haven't found a file for the RTX cards. I just got a new laptop and it has the RTX 2070 Super in it, however, the Sims 3 deviceconfig says:

Name (driver):   NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super
Name (database): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super [Found: 0, Matched: 1]

Can anyone help out? Thanks in advance!

We don't have a generic graphics file for these types of cards, yet.

I can try my best to add it to the list, but need the Device ID of your card.

This can be found in the file called DeviceConfig.log in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Look under the Graphics device info.

No problem! It now sees the graphics card, thank you so much! I didn't think it would be much difference from the 1060 but wow, the game flies again!

It crashed to the desktop after about an hour of playing (I was still in CAS  ), so now I'm off to figure out what's going on there.
