Is my new laptop gonna be good enough?

So I've played Sims since 2016 and have had no problem running it until a few months ago. I'm getting a new laptop and I'm wondering if it's going to give me smooth gameplay

My Sims -
I have 5 expansion packs, 2 game packs and 1 stuff pack
A mod folder of about 17gb
Extended family with many people

My old laptop (not good enough)
4gb ram
i5 core I think??
1TB HDD
1.6 GHz

New laptop (saving up for)
16gb ram
i5 core
1TB HDD
2.4 GHz

I know SSD is better but I can't afford that rn. Please respond if you think this will be suitable for a high maintenance gameplay

An SSD would be of more benefit in an open world game like TS3, plus they have a lower failure rate at least upfront (no moving parts). But I get the price problem. I still think it's a good laptop choice for TS4. 16GB of RAM is more than enough, the game is optimized for lesser hardware anyways, and if you could afford an HDD -> SSD upgrade in the future (who knows?), there are worse hardware replacements.

Ok so I did some searching and I decided I'm going to get a gaming computer instead of laptop

-AMD Ryzen 3200G
-1 TB HDD
-Radeon R7

You generally get better performance out of a desktop, and it looks like this has a real graphics card.

I was thinking about buying a gaming laptop for me. I don't want to buy a desktop computer because I don't like them so I was looking for a gaming laptop. I found something interesting about gaming laptops on https://www.heimkinoheld.de/gaming-laptop-test/. It's in german but you can see which laptops are for gaming.
I hope that your new laptop is better. As long as it makes fun to play with this laptop I would stick to it
