The Sandgem Dynasty's Journal
« on: January 03, 2011, 11:19:44 PM »
I decided to give this a shot, after a long hours of headache. I love making stories, but I'm not really good at slipping humors between. I hope any could enjoy this story.
(I didn't put the resolutions at the best, because I thought it might lag my computer. I'll try raising it a little bit next time...)

Introducing Oath Sandgem, the Founder of the (to-be) Dynasty!
Her traits are : Natural Cook, Over-Emotional, Photographer's Eye, Charismatic, and Bookworm.
She wishes to be a Celebrated Five Star Chef. Oh you did see that one coming?
She got a wish to join the Culinary Career, so I had her rush off to the Diner and apply to be a Kitchen Scullion. I know she can't wait to start working! Despite her face, that is.

Then she went off to library. She had a wish to read three total books, so I had her read a Charisma Book and two Cooking books. At the end of the day, she had Charisma level 1 and Cooking level 3, halfway to 4.

I have yet to buy her anything, so she's going to spend her first night at the Fire Department. I noticed the Steel household was just beside the Fire Department. I'm not going to be picky for the first generation, so I thought I'll aim at Christoper the next day.
Back to the Fire Department, she grabbed a quick meal from the fridge, use the toilet and the shower, and hit the bed.

Oath : Are you sure about this? What if the alarm goes off when I'm sleeping?
Me : Just continue sleeping dummy. Who cares about the fire.

She woke up with the bad bed moodlet, much to my dismay. That's free beds for you. She then decides to play the Simulator Game with the TV. Then she grabbed a canned soup from the fridge, and after she's full, she gave a visit to the Steel household.

She pumped her relationship with Christopher to friends, but have to stop since it's time to work. She uses the meet co-workers tone for the first day. I just know she won't be able to grab the promotion, she wasn't in really good mood.
And after the work, she gave Christopher a Hilarous Greet, in front of the garbage can.

She started the romantic advance, but halted because she's starving. Good job there, Oath.

So she asked Christopher to sleep over, and obviously granted. To thank him, she cooked him a serving of Autumn Salad. No, actually she's just hungry herself.

After that, she went off to Christopher's bed.

Footnote :
- Who can guess where did I get the name Sandgem gets a cookie.
- And I did resize the picture, was it too small or anything?
- Lastly I'm not a natural English speaker, so forgive me if I did some (mostly grammar) mistakes.

You're off to a great start, Oathbear!

I'm not going to attempt to guess at where Sandgem comes from (wait, is that a pearl?)

Your graphics are just fine for me.
You've played too much TS3 when ... your 13 month old's babble sounds like Simlish!

@lilygirl : Thanks for reading, lily! Are you sure the graphic is fine? I think it's kinda weird compared to the other Dynasty's pictures.
And... Sandgem's pearl? I don't know to that detail, just that I got the name from a game. Sue me. :P
(Working on update, will post after it's done)

Update : (I'm not sure about doubleposting, so I'll just edit this post)

Hey! How dare you sleep together when you're not (yet) married!
After a quick bath, Oath continues her romantic advance on Christopher. She asked him to be her Boyfriend...

And then popped the ring out of nowhere...

And a quick marriage, clock's ticking. Almost time to work!

Oath : Okay, so now we're all married, you can go home and start painting dear! I'm off to work.
Christopher : ...

Christopher brought some simoleons, at least enough to make a little box!

Here's the tiny little home, with Christopher learning painting with the brand new easel!

And when Oath got home, all in her mind was her husband. Way to go.

Oath wishes for a WooHoo with him, I guess it wouldn't hurt. It just have to wait tommorow, filling her fun bar before work!

Great update!

About Sandgem - I don't play any computer/video games other than the Sims 3 so I've got nothing. I came up with pearl because it's a precious gem that's created by oysters rolling a grain of sand around in their shells for years and coating it with their membranes.

Thank you all for reading. A mini update from me.

It's been a boring days after the marriage. The days were filled with Christopher skilling up Painting and Gardening, while Oath's filling it with either Junkyard visits, reading Cooking books, hunt for special seeds, and working. At the end of the week 1, Oath's on level 5 in her career and level 8 at Cooking skill, meanwhile Christopher's gardening is 4 and his painting is 7. I wonder if I'm lacking progress...

By the way, is there any use from the beaten furnitures that we could salvage in the junkyard?

The start is always quite slow because of the crazy skilling up. When you have noo-boos things will get interesting! (:

I heard that calling the repairman over used to work, but not anymore. Haven't tried it before, though.

You seem to be progressing just fine. The only use for salvaged furniture is for an inventor to detonate it. You could save it in your family inventory in case you have one of your family member become an inventor at some point.

Thanks both of you for reasurring me I'm not progressing slowly. I mean, I'm quite the neurotic.
And thanks Rachel, for telling me that salvaged items from junkyard are only destined to be detonated. *sigh* I've get rid of those.
Umm, RJ, what is a noo-boo?  :-X

Update :

The next week gives quite the difference to the day. Christopher started fishing and getting better at it. Oath gathered around nine Special Seeds, so I'm pretty sure there will be any Life Fruit or Death Flower growing. I'll just pray so no meteors will land on the garden.
Oath've been trading kitchen secrets with Jared Frio, her boss, and recently learned Ambrosia! Yay! Now I just have to search for death fishes. :D I'll still nag him with trade kitchen secrets though, 2 more recipes to finish the Menu Maven challange.

That's Oath chatting with her co-workers in the night, I just thought the scenery was quite lovely, so I took the picture.

And this is quite unique to me. I sold a sofa, and the home got no chairs to sit and eat. Instead, Christopher decided to sit on the uncloged, dirty toilet on a dirty bathroom. Seriously? If it were me, I've vomitted the food the instance I get it in.

Hey... did I hear a lullaby? Yes, it is!
Okay, since they got quite the money, to celebrate the lullaby, I decided to renovate the little box they call home.

I haven't dealed with the exterior yet, and I'm not a good designer either. I'll throw in some decorations when they got more moneys. Hmm? The bathroom? Want a closer look?

Well, yeah. She's vomitting. A baby's on the way. Yay!

And, just when I thought I need more moneys to throw in decorations, Christopher got an opportunity to deliver 10 paintings to the bussniess office. I had him bought the Opportunity reward, and also a Mid-Life Crisis. Now he got Angler, Photographer's Eye, Artistic, Lucky, and Born Salesman.
Lucky I keeped some numbers of small paintings, and since I'm not patient to make 10 larges, I decided to just use the small ones. Good news, he netted 26.000 simoleons from those. Bad news, he's now a celebrity! And level 2 at that, too! I don't really enjoy celebrities. Sure, freebies are always nice. But I don't like the bad moodlet he might suffer, and...

...paparazii who'll peek the windows. So, I'll avoid Christopher making contact with Oath and the incoming baby. Sorry about that Christopher.

Back to the good news, Oath changed to her labor clothing! I can't wait to see the new baby. Is it going to be a girl, or boy?
The day off timing couldn't be better, too. She'll be back to work next week. It got plus and minus, but that's fine. Maybe I can avoid the baby from being celebrity. And she's already level 9 on her career, I can live with that.
She got the wish to have a baby girl. I just thought I'll keep it, so I had her go to the Diner to be partners, because she got 4 wishes keeped already.
But do you notice she was in the kitchen? I went over-excited and totally forgot she was baking some Key Lime Pie, so when she's at the Diner, the fire started, woke up Christopher who stupidly ran into the kitchen. It was a hard work to have him run away from the home. Sigh.
I've done Oath's painting, which is a Masterpiece. In the first try too.

Oath's Journal
LTW : Become a Celebrated Five Star Chef
Career : Culinary
Supermax skill : Cooking
Lifetime rewards(3) :
Building : Hogan's Deep Fried Diner
Property :
Best Friends :
BlackOps : Nice!,
Potraits : Young Adult(Painting)

I'm having a hard time getting Opportunities that she's capable doing, I hope I can get enough.
Anyways, I got quite confused. Anyone can answer these for me?
- If the non-immortal maxes Gardening, can any immortal Supermax it?
- If a celeb and non-celeb sleep in the same bed, will it affect the non-celeb? That's Oath and Christopher in this case.
- Can an immortal only got Photo Potrait for one life stage? Not painting, I mean.

Noo-boo is Simlish for baby. When they are playing with babies they always use it.

What ever skills the non-immortal has does not matter to the immortals. They are free to max any skill they want. The starting spouse always has many max skills but the future generations are free to pursue them.

Affect as in..? They will gain celeb points if they talk to celebs and I pretty sure Oath and Chris talk to each other, so yeah.

Only portraits are absolutely necessary for Ambrosia. Photos and sculptures can be added to your liking so I don't think there's any restrictions to the number.

Anyway good luck on getting opportunities! My self employed writer is not getting any except those celebs ones ): Looking forward to the next generation! (:

Noo-boo... ;D
Thanks for answering my questions!
Man... Now having Oath as the Founder sounded weird... Because that's my nickname in internet... Maybe I should change it.  ;D

Thanks for the nice comments! Sorry for the delay, two first day in school drove me tired enough to not touch computer. Here's a little update from me.

Sometimes husbands can be so... Uncaring? While he's having a picnic in a park...

Oath got the awesome stomache. Bad, bad Christopher. Lucky she's calm enough to go to a hospital by her own. Oath wishes for a Girl while Christopher wishes for a Boy. And the winner of the bet is...

Oath! Turns out the new noo-boo is a girl. That's for leaving your own wife. Welcome Cherri Sandgem, who loves the outdoor and is a heavy sleeper. I kind of relieved it's a girl. I prepared a name for both gender, but the boy's one sort of weird to me.

Oath went home immediately, because she simply can't wait to cuddle the nooboo!

Well, she's cute, even I think so! Hopefully she'll be a beautiful girl!

She's going to pursue Gardening as her Supermax skill. I'm still confused about her career though. It'll be Science or Gardening. I never tried Gardening before, I thought it'll be hard because the fruits and vegetables isn't exactly a money maker.
