@Nikitachi, Should I say that your Sims have to check the mailbox each day after they apply? I'm trying to prevent the exploit of delaying enrollment.

'Each day' still seems a bit blurry... Maybe we should make it something like 'The deadline for the enrollment is Tuesday 8AM (just an example of time). If your sims don't get accepted by that time, you can't leave the home lot after this time, and all your sims are allowed to do while waiting is fulfill their needs'?

Oh my this is so exciting! Brilliant challenge Marian. I'm hoping that my experience with the ten gen townies will help but it never gets easier watching uncontrolled sims play computer games all day instead of what they're supposed to be doing.

The rule would be good if we have to enroll sometime on Tuesday as whatever time that is, term will start the following day so the end date will be the same for all. This will allow for a little flexibility and strategising but also be fair. Giving a specific enrollment time earlier in the day would force us all to change controlled sim at the same time which takes away part of the challenge.

Presumably we'll have to select "enroll for another term" when the option pops up, even though only one of the three will be controlled at the time, otherwise they'd become out of sync which could be exploited. Similarly I presume we can't drop out, reapply, or change courses as that would give more time.

@SueDenim, I've found that no matter how much money my Sims are awarded in CAS, the group of 3 starts out with 20,000 simoleons. It might be different if the 3rd Sim created gets the higher amount, though.

@Nikitachi, I think including the "start" time as a tie-breaker might solve the problem.

@Vesper, The grades come in automatically. You'll get them for each Sim -- write them down -- and then have the opportunity to enroll each Sim after all the grades have been reported. It doesn't matter which Sim you're controlling.

Just created a group of 3 sims where all of them had the highest amount possible, and they started with 63K!

Grr -- okay, if you start with more than 20,000 simoleons, reduce your amount to 20,000.

@Nikitachi, I think including the "start" time as a tie-breaker might solve the problem.

I'd rather the start time wasn't used as a tie-breaker. Starting later has the benefit of playing all sims longer but starting earlier gives the first sim more time to get ahead with their studies, the total time will be the same for everyone. Neither of the options is inherently better or more difficult so it would be a shame if someone were to score higher simply due to preference.

I don't really understand what you're saying here. In any case, the rule has been clarified to:  Your Sims should all enroll as soon as possible once all 3 of them have been accepted.

And we'll keep the start time. That way, if more than one person maxes the points, the winner will be the one who started earliest.

that's fine, all I meant is that (from my perspective) starting earlier makes it easier to get the grades therefore it doesn't show better playing than starting later; it just seemed an arbitrary measure though I'm not sure what a better one would be.

Hi, In story mode, in creating 3 sims, it is only the first sim that story mode provides a career, skills and aspiration. The others household members are not given careers or skills. Am I doing something wrong?

I had all three of mine come out with stories when I tested yesterday.  Are you using the Story Mode button for the 2nd and 3rd sims in CAS?

Yes. When you go to add Sims 2 and 3, choose the book icon -- that's Story Mode.

Agreed Marian.  This looks like a fun event.  Although now I am sad because I liked my three test sims and the next 2-3 sets I made were disappointing.  So no more testing for me.
