With all this talk about only sticking to Aspiration and Reward traits and not allowing traits from careers has me wondering something.

Are we allowed to join careers? Some of the Aspirations require joining a career or reaching a certain level, to complete them and what point can our Sims stay in the career? Sruixan mentioned level 8 being the earliest Sims can gain a trait from a career so stop before then?  :-\

So we can we get some clarification on this, just to be sure?

There's nothing in the rules preventing you from joining a career, so go for it. It makes total sense to do so especially for completing an Aspiration. But, again, there's no place to score a trait gained from a career.

Oh okay, I thought there were traits to be obtained from careers and those weren't allowed but I guess I must have understood what Sruixan said so never mind then. ???

It's not that those career traits are banned -- it's that the way we have the scoring set up, there's no way to score them.

Since I was off work yesterday, I went ahead and knocked this one out.  Without going into detail, let's just say that nothing went to plan and at one point, I was having a lot of fun playing, completely forgetting that it was a challenge and there were goals to complete.

Anyways...

Score
RS Traits <2500: 26 x1 = 26
RS Traits 2500+: 0 x2 = 0
ASP Traits: 2 x3 = 6
Total: 32

@Teresa nice score - you must have got every single one-point trait. I'm glad that others get distracted by fun too in these challenges.

@Rainbow Dash you made me realise something. If someone doesn't have the vampire pack then both of their Sims are likely to die before the time is up. I mean they may live longer with the bodybuilder aspiration but it's a bit of a risky strategy. Wouldnt it be easier to let players change to a longer life setting and guaranteed survival of all sims to the end of the challenge.
Unless the risky element of playing an elder was part of the challenge in which case I'm gonna go back to my corner and keep quiet.

Rachel

If your occult Sim would pass before your Human/Alen, there's no rule preventing the surviving Sim from continuing. But, the no life extension rule still applies.

The rules don't specify that the second sim has to be an occult - it says any life state with life extension allowed.  So if you choose to create two humans, does this really mean that the second one you create would be the one to have life extension allowed?

Yes.

EDIT: Well, now that I think about it I suppose it really would not matter in the case of two Humans in CAS. You would choose which is which.

So if you create two humans then both have the potential to have their lives extended but once we allocate life extendiness? *not a word* we cannot change our minds?

Second question. Assumption a spellcaster cannot be the one to use magic to extend the non occult Sims life because spellcasters are considered occult and therefore cannot extend the life of their non occult counterpart.

Well, I suppose with 2 Humans it really does not matter who is chosen to be the designated "life extender" in CAS. What matters is the point in the game where you have the option to extend life (and hence, the one who will die). Once you make that choice, then obviously it's permanent.

Second question. Assumption a spellcaster cannot be the one to use magic to extend the non occult Sims life because spellcasters are considered occult and therefore cannot extend the life of their non occult counterpart.

I'm not totally understanding you. Are you asking if you created a Human and a Spellcaster could the Spellcaster extend the Human's life? If so, no because the Human has to die. No life extension.

@Metropolis Man no I wasn't asking that I was saying I assume spellcasters cannot extend the life of the other sim because spellcasters are automatically given life extension privileges . I was trying to clarify if it was worth starting with a spellcaster or two humans.
Now I know it's better to start with two humans so its helped thank you.

Fun challenge - once I got started I couldn't stop!

My very mortal and non-mystical sims sadly died within hours of each other -
RS Traits <2500: 16 x1 = 16
RS Traits 2500+: 2 x2 = 4
ASP Traits: 1 x3 = 3

Total points - 23

I'm going to have to admit defeat I have tendonitis in my elbow and am really struggling to play my game.
Should I submit a partial score or a dnf.
I am managing to play for thirty minutes or so but then I have to rest my arm for a couple of days and I just do not think its helping me.

Oh wow...sounds almost identical to what happened to me with too much Diablo III playing. Ice it after any playing session and also stretch your fingers up and down if that makes sense. But, go ahead and submit a partial score if you want. This is not over until next weekend, Rachel, so you have time to make some more progress.

I am going to rest my arm as much as possible for a few days and then try and see how I get on. I can at the very least try and improve my score.

I'm surprised to see that only two players got their scores in at this time!

This challenge was fun,I really liked it!
I'm not used to play with elders, and it was interesting to realize that they still can do many, many things, even on normal lifespan, before dying :D

My score:

RS Traits <2500 = 46 x 1 = 46
RS Traits 2500+ = 17 x 2  = 34
ASP Traits = 24 x 3 = 72
Total: 152
