That sounds good to me.  And not too wordy.

It would be so sad to have both my elderly sims perish before the end of two weeks! (Option #1)
And I agree with Nikitachi that playing two elderly vampires makes no sense, since they'd be immortal. (Option #2)

My vote goes to Nikitachi's Option #3 of one human elder and one vampire/spellcaster elder.
This:
Depending on what others say (speak up, everyone...let's get more feedback, so players can start testing) I would probably word it like "Create two Elder Sims — one Human/Alien with no life extension/life state changing allowed. The other Sim may be any life state with no life extension restrictions." Seems wordy to me but that's my first go at it.

So far #3 seems to be the unanimous opinion, so let's go with that. I'd prefer not to delay this much longer so testers can get to testing their strategies. I'll update the rules. Thanks for the feedback, folks.

EDIT:

  • Create two Elder Sims — one Human/Alien with no life extension/life state changing allowed. The other Sim may be any life state with no life extension restrictions.

Thank you--this gives me options. I've been eyeing the vampire and/or magic packs since they're on sale, but it's nice to know I'd still be able to participate with a mermaid if need be.

I just assumed you were allowing vampires or spell casters to make it easier for people to complete certain aspirations but then I remembered making life easier is not a challenge tournament thing lol.

In a new me new player moment to save stress I'm not asking for any clarifications and I'm just gonna wing it and have fun.

Two quick questions - are clubs allowed? Are our sims permitted to move households or do they have to stay on the lot they start with? Thanks :)

Both clubs and moving are allowed.

I wish I had been online when this discussion about playing different life states had been going on, sneaky people conversing while I was asleep, ah the joys of living in a different time zone. While I understand the decision has been made and I don't expect the Challenge Team to change anything, as a big Occult fan I feel the need to put my two cents worth in.

While I do agree that playing two elderly Vampires makes no sense and having one Elder with a normal lifespan and no life extensions allowed is a good idea and makes it more challenging, I do have one question.

Quote
Create two Elder Sims — one Human/Alien with no life extension/life state changing allowed. The other Sim may be any life state with no life extension restrictions.

Why does the first Sim have to be Human or Alien only? Last time I checked Spellcasters are not immortal the way Vampires are. I also see no reason not to play a Spellcaster for my first Sim, I mean as long as I don't extend their life, it should be fine right?

*Sigh* I guess I'm just a little disappointed, I was really looking forward to playing both a Spellcaster and a Vampire but I guess that's not possible anymore. :( I guess I'll have be satisfied with just one occult life state of my choosing instead. Well I suppose it's good that the Challenge Team is allowing us to play with Occults at all, it's good that you guys are doing that and I appreciate it, I do really, I just wish it was a little more often, that's all. I was also looking forward to playing two Occults too.

I'll still play but now I have a hard decision to make, ugh.

I personally have nothing against it. I just never played with Spellcasters, so I'm not familiar with their special abilities. I just know that we're almost always limited to Humans/Aliens, so I just repeated that part.

@Rainbow Dash you made me realise something. If someone doesn't have the vampire pack then both of their Sims are likely to die before the time is up. I mean they may live longer with the bodybuilder aspiration but it's a bit of a risky strategy. Wouldnt it be easier to let players change to a longer life setting and guaranteed survival of all sims to the end of the challenge.
Unless the risky element of playing an elder was part of the challenge in which case I'm gonna go back to my corner and keep quiet.

Moving and altering lots we move into are allowed, aren't they?

How do we count the traits that haven't been bought from the rewards store and aren't the aspiration ones? (and no, I'm not referring to the starting ones either)

You don't count any others. And potions too with the 3 hour effects. None of those would be counted because they do not give you an actual trait. Just score traits you can buy or come as an Aspiration completion reward. If we're missing other ones that come from doing something in the game, feel free to speak up here, or PM the team.

Well, I'm not really sure here because I'm still only gathering information from the web. But, for example, I've seen mentions of some Career reward traits which are said to be granted to a sim after completing a certain career.
