Chapter 140 - The Big City

Screenshot.jpg

Welcome to Bridgeport, the final town of the Loveland Random Town Jump! I honestly can't believe we made it. Ten towns! How the heck did we get this far?

Screenshot-18.jpg

As exciting and enchanting as the lights of the big city may be, the Loveland family requires the space and standard of living that can only be found across the river on Celebrity Mansion Mountain or whatever it's called. No cramped tenement tower for these ten-generation tycoons. The Lovelands kindly kick the Angelista family out of their house at 152 Windsor Drive and take Air Spray all for themselves. (The Angelistas move into another mansion a stone's throw away, so don't feel too bad for them.)

Screenshot-21.jpg

I love this house because its entire color scheme is a lovely faded turquoise, and I don't have to do much redecorating. All I do on the ground floor is update the appliances, add a TV and things for the cats, and turn the empty balcony into a cute little Brooklyn-esque terrace for plants and skilling.

Screenshot-22.jpg

The upper floor is renovated to fit four bedrooms instead of two, plus a nursery area. Some lounge seating is added to the pool area.

Screenshot-26.jpg

Before the Lovelands go in to explore their new home, Penelope calls the Bridgeport real estate office. She and Maritza need a new home to move into. The agent happily offers them an unbeatable price for the little cottage at the foot of Rich Person Peak. They'll be right nearby. Goodbye, Penelope and Maritza! Visit soon!

Screenshot-34.jpg

I swear Nico didn't have a football back in Moonlight Falls, but now, upon his arrival in the big city, all he wants to do is play catch. He drags his son out to the side yard to get some practice in.

Screenshot-37.jpg

You can imagine what happens every time Rory tries to catch the ball.

Screenshot-41.jpg

The many young adults of the household start to make headway in their skills and careers. Quinn settles in to her new, quiet bedroom and starts work on a new novel, pausing to gaze at the city skyline when she needs a break.

Screenshot-45.jpg

Hank drives downtown and applies for a job at the police station.

"Ohhh, yeah. I'm going to make the sexiest werewolf cop Bridgeport has ever SEEN."

Screenshot-54.jpg

As for Krystal, she's got a lot of drinks to make if she's ever going to be good enough to moonlight at Bridgeport's world-famous bars and clubs.

Screenshot-50.jpg

A lot of this happens in these early days. :P

Screenshot-55.jpg

Ada decides to head down to the park to work on her guitar skill. Instead of meeting some locals, she gets an audience of one in the form of her daughter-in-law. Are you that eager to get out of your brand-new house, Maritza?

Screenshot-58.jpg

That night, the Lovelands settle in to their tiny kitchen table and enjoy some Goopy Carbonara that Quinn managed not to burn.

Screenshot-61.jpg

Then the young adults all hop in Franky's old vintage car from Hidden Springs (or at least an exact replica...) and drive downtown to see the sights.

Screenshot-64.jpg

They end up at Waylon's Haunt, which is probably called that because it's haunted by a spooky green light that apparently gives Quinn the heebie-jeebies.

Rory: "So, like, what does one DO at a bar?"
Krystal: "According to my new mixology skill journal, you...drink things? I assume they're good things. I haven't made a good drink yet."

Screenshot-66.jpg

Eventually, Quinn gets over her introvert nerves and orders her first drink.

Screenshot-67.jpg

"Yay, you did it, sis! You ordered a drink in a Bridgeport bar! I'm so proud of you!"
"Yeah, shut up."

I never thought about how sheltered this family has been. In Bridgeport, I guess all outsiders look pretty sheltered.

Screenshot-69.jpg

Speaking of sheltered...back home, Nico takes the opportunity to show just how UN-sheltered he is. There must be something in the air in Bridgeport that encourages its citizens, new and old, to get naked.

Screenshot-73.jpg

Back at the bar, Rory and Hank continue to explore their newly deepened friendship(!) with a few bar games.

Screenshot-75.jpg

Towards the end of the night, Krystal works up the courage to ask the bartender about moonlighting. Before she does so, though, she pauses, looks down, sniffles, and appears to overcome some sort of internal hurdle causing her to cry a little. The bartender is like "Sure, next time you come in, you can give it a try" and Krystal is like "HOLD ON. I JUST NEED A MOMENT TO PROCESS THIS."

Screenshot-77.jpg

I take Quinn's falling asleep on the stage in a sleeping bag she's apparently been hoarding since youth as a sign that we should get home. Everybody needs a good night's sleep before work starts tomorrow!

Screenshot-79.jpg

RORY. WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR PROBLEM.

I'm truly baffled, y'all. It was weird enough (and honestly kind of cute) when Rory put himself to bed with his brother-in-law, but with his FATHER? That's on its own level of Not Right.

Well, somehow, the bed situation does get sorted out with a great deal of Watcher intervention, and we're going to move on with the story because I don't know what else to do. :o

Screenshot-88.jpg

The next day, Nico hops over to the Performance Park to see if he can't get an acrobat gig.

Screenshot-92.jpg

His extremely basic demonstration of mime wows the proprieter beyond all belief.

"Oh my gosh, Mr. Loveland, for a second there I thought you really WERE stuck in a box! You're hired!"

Screenshot-94.jpg

Super duper. Everybody's set up in their careers...except for Rory, for whom I don't really have a career plan and who has failed so far to roll any career-related wishes. Hopefully he'll enlighten us soon, because I don't exactly want him kicking around the house breaking family trees in his spare time.

Chapter 141 - Werewolf Woohoo: A Step-by-Step Guide

Screenshot-97.jpg

Bridgeport is one of my least favorite towns in the Sims universe...but honestly, this house with its spectacular views might be changing my mind. The Lovelands are loving their fancy new digs as well.

There are a couple members of the family, though, who are not settling in quite so well.

Screenshot-101.jpg

"Nico, dearest - I've been thinking. Our children are grown now, and with both of them preparing to start families of their own soon...well, it is going to be quite a full house before long."

Screenshot-102.jpg

"I've been thinking the same thing, Ada. Maybe it's time we give our children free rein - and take some time for ourselves."
"Yes - that is exactly what I meant."
"Shall we tell them?"
"I suppose we must."

Screenshot-107.jpg

The elders gather the two heirs and explain their plan. Because of the double heirship, Nico and Ada decide to move out to create maximum space for grandboos. And to have a nice, quiet retirement, just the two of them.

Screenshot-110.jpg

Rory and Quinn give a bittersweet farewell to their parents.

Screenshot-112.jpg

"Come visit soon, Dad, okay?"
"Are you kidding? The house we bought is a twelve-second drive away. We'll be here more as visitors than we ever were as residents."

Screenshot-117.jpg

Before they go, though, Nico and Ada put some of their abundant Lifetime Happiness points to good use and purchase a couple of Age Freeze Potions.

Screenshot-120.jpg

"Oooof! Nico, I feel...I feel like glitter personified!"
"Really? I feel just like I feel when...when we...um...I'll tell you later."

Screenshot-123.jpg

Freshly frozen and essentially immortal, Nico and Ada autonomously go all lovey-dovey as their final actions in the Loveland house.

Screenshot-126.jpg

"Oh, Nico! Let us go test out our new bedroom THIS MINUTE!"

Screenshot-129.jpg

And off they go. I forgot to take a picture of their new house, probably because I was too busy being sad about moving them out. But it's called Sugar Cube, and it's literally just up the hill. If Nico and Ada were to go sledding down the hill in their backyard, they'd end up right back here. It's perfect.

Screenshot-168.jpg

Well okay, I didn't get a picture of the house...but I DID get a picture of Nico skinny dipping in his new pool. Anytime I want, I can move the camera up the hill and check to see if the pool is getting any use. Spoiler alert: It does. A lot. :o

Screenshot-133.jpg

The house is rather quiet after the elders leave. Quinn and Hank suddenly find themselves feeling rather shy.

Screenshot-134.jpg

"Well, Hank, there's plenty of room in the house now."
"Indeed. Plenty of room for some supernatural nooboos."
"Oh Hank, do you really think--?"
"It's possible. I, uh--I'll do my best."

Screenshot-142.jpg

And he does. His best, that is. I'll leave them to it and show you Meelo making himself at home on the front walk. I think in one of his previous lives, he was linguine.

Screenshot-138.jpg

Meanwhile, Rory has finally made a career choice. He rolls a wish to join the athletic career AND a wish to gain a celebrity level. Even though he's not exactly your typical superstar athlete...I figure, why not? Follow your dreams, Rory!

Screenshot-144.jpg

Krystal is self-employed as a painter and spends much of her time painting the gorgeous view off the balcony while her sweaty husband works out nearby.

Screenshot-147.jpg

It doesn't take long for the fruits of Quinn and Hank's labor to become evident.

Screenshot-158.jpg

Our first Bridgeport nooboo is on the way!

Screenshot-163.jpg

Shortly after this, Quinn sits down to finish her latest book (Werewolf Woohoo: A Step-by-Step Guide, which naturally becomes a bestseller) and completes her Lifetime Wish.

Screenshot-170.jpg

That evening, Hank returns home from the police station just in time for the full moon to rise.

Screenshot-173.jpg

Quinn is only too happy to share her news with her husband in his supernatural form.

"I'm pregnant with a baby who might be a werewolf! Also I completed my lifelong dream of being a professional author but I don't really care about that."

Screenshot-174.jpg

The "Oh wow, you're pregnant with my child?! I'm so surprised!" face is rather, um, interesting on a werewolf.

Screenshot-182.jpg

Here's a quick cat update before this chapter ends. Suki has officially reached the end of her life bar, though like Mai, she seems in no hurry to go anywhere. Fine by me. She and Meelo keep each other happy and occupied.

Screenshot-187.jpg

And never has Suki been more adored by her humans. She and Krystal have become particular friends. Probably because Krystal likes things that are bright clashy colors. :)

Chapter 142 - Wishes Fulfilled

Screenshot-191.jpg

Welcome back. I have approximately 37 screenshots of Krystal painting on the balcony because it's just so goshdarn scenic, so here. Enjoy.

Screenshot-194.jpg

When she's not painting, Krystal is trying to break into the mixology scene in downtown Bridgeport. Her first locale is Waylon's Haunt, mostly because it's really basic and they're theoretically open to beginners. This guy very nicely allows Krystal to step behind the bar for the first time after hearing that she's level 3 in the mixology skill.

Screenshot-197.jpg

"Everything should be all set for you. Let me just..."
"What's down there?"
"The cheap liquor. I mean, the...stuff for beginners."

Screenshot-200.jpg

Krystal throws herself into the roll of barkeep. Doesn't she look adorable pretending to scope out creepers or whatever this action is supposed to be?

Screenshot-206.jpg

By a stroke of luck, a handful of genuine Bridgeport townies do show up before the end of the night. Krystal gets to make two entire drinks, and neither of them is foul quality! Go Krystal!

Screenshot-213.jpg

Before she goes, Krystal leaves her signature in the bathroom. (She's been rolling wishes to learn street art ever since we moved here. I figured it would go along nicely with her moonlighting.)

Screenshot-223.jpg

Back home, all is quiet. Suki has found her new favorite spot in the new house. Of course, it's a kitchen counter. :')

Screenshot-228.jpg

All is not quiet for long. Shortly after sunrise, Quinn sits down to write and is promptly hit with labor pains. Her screams wake her husband from his wolfy slumber.

Screenshot-230.jpg

Hank: "Ohhhh, my STOMACH! I haven't eaten in almost twelve hours!!"

Screenshot-234.jpg

*YAWN* "Morning, sweetie. Gosh, I am in so much pain from hunger! Any interest in cooking your man some breakfast?"

Screenshot-240.jpg

Hank never actually acknowledges that his wife is in labor. At first I'm deeply offended, but then I realize that it's because Meelo is coming in to "mark" him, which absolutely must occupy all of Hank's attention. (Even Quinn understands this. See? She's like, "Hey Meelo!" before getting back to pushing.)

Screenshot-244.jpg

What a sweet kitty, and a thoughtful husband!

Screenshot-247.jpg

"Well, if you're busy, I guess I can throw down some pancakes myself. I'll save you a couple. Good luck, babe!"

Screenshot-249.jpg

Poor Quinn. Or maybe...fortunate Quinn. Meelo doesn't even stick around for moral support. Or maybe he knows that Quinn is a Loner and would prefer to suffer in peace and quiet.

Screenshot-252.jpg

A couple of long hours later, it happens.

Screenshot-254.jpg

It's a boy! Welcome to the world, Sidney Loveland.

Screenshot-259.jpg

Quinn deposits her son in his crib and immediately goes back into labor.

Screenshot-261.jpg

I managed to capture the scary rabbit face this time.

Screenshot-264.jpg

It's a girl! Welcome, Tessa.

At the moment she gives birth, Quinn rolls a very important wish: to become a werewolf. At first I'm like, "Huh. What a coincidence. I don't think these babies are werewolves, though..."

Then Quinn snuggles Sidney for the first time, and one of her other wishes is satisfied. The wish? "Socialize with a werewolf."

SIDNEY IS A WEREWOLF. AND GUESS WHAT? SO IS TESSA. AHHHHHH WEREWOLF TWINS.

Screenshot-269.jpg

Before Quinn can even process the fact that she just had twins and they are BOTH SUPERNATURALS, Uncle Rory is there to nuzzle his new niece in the face. :)

Screenshot-270.jpg

Quinn has to wait a whole entire day to introduce Hank to his children, but when he finally gets home, he's thrilled. And sorry for ignoring Quinn all morning. At least I imagine he's sorry.

Screenshot-281.jpg

The house is partly full of babies! And Krystal is so here for it. :D

Screenshot-277.jpg

A quick aside: Nico and Ada have adopted a kitten! This adorable lady is named Shadow, and I may or may not have big plans for her one day. :D

Yay!!! Twin wereboos, and one of each to boot!!! Welcome to Sidney and Tessa!

And to little Shadow helping Nico and Ada relieve their loneliness in their empty house, whether she's part of big plans for the future or not. :)

Yay indeed! I still can't believe I got so lucky.

I check up on Ada and Nico often, and when they're not at work, they're usually out in the front yard playing with Shadow. :) It makes me happy.

Chapter 143 - RIP Furniture

Ada comes over for her first visit since moving out and...

Screenshot-288.jpg

...oh, dear.

Screenshot-289.jpg

Hank, this is NOT a good time for you to boast about your good looks. Not like anyone needs reminding, anyway.

Screenshot-292.jpg

I invite Ada over for the express purpose of allowing her to interact with her grandchildren, but I quickly discover that that's not as simple as it seems. Ada doesn't autonomously interact with the babies because she hasn't "met" them, and I'm not even sure she would if she had. :( We might have to wait till the babies are older for them to meet their grandparents for real.

Screenshot-296.jpg

At least Ada can reunite with her beloved Suki.

Screenshot-299.jpg

Ada hangs around for the rest of the day, and more than once I click on her intending to make her do stuff. Old habits die hard, I guess. :( (Don't mind the lovers getting handsy in the foreground...)

Screenshot-302.jpg

Meanwhile, I spontaneously decide that Hank needs some werewolf friends. I send him out to a club, where he performs a dramatic transformation in front of this chick whose name I forgot.

Screenshot-311.jpg

He then attacks said lady with the intent of biting her. But something gets weird and they sort of merge their abdomens instead. And not in a sensual way. (I just noticed Penelope watching curiously in the background and I am laughing SO hard.)

Screenshot-313.jpg

Success! Hank now has someone to hunt with, or he will in a few days. If I ever remember that this even happened, that is. (Spoiler alert: I don't.)

Screenshot-318.jpg

Krystal has turned out to be the most diligent and enthusiastic auntie ever. She's constantly snuggling and caring for Sidney and Tessa. She still shows signs of discomfort at times, though. I feel like she's very sensitive to the smell of diapers. Why else would she be feeling nauseous?

Screenshot-325.jpg

As a distraction, she checks the newspaper for hotspots and lassoes her husband into a night out on the town.

Screenshot-326.jpg

"Okay, Aquarius is somewhere in this building. Where do you think it is?"
"Maybe we should follow the shark."
"What shark?! Where?!?"
"Oh, you're hilarious."

Screenshot-327.jpg

Turns out the newspaper was wrong, and Aquarius is a dead zone. Also, it's too high-level a bar for an amateur mixologist like Krystal. Krystal begrudgingly blows some strawberry bubbles and tries to suppress the urge to throw up.

Screenshot-329.jpg

Ah, she just needed to use the restroom! Too bad the bar just closed...

Screenshot-330.jpg

Oh. Just kidding, she's pregnant!

Screenshot-333.jpg

Rory and Krystal return home just in time to witness the twins' first birthday. Is it like four in the morning right now? Yes. Do we care? Not in Bridgeport!

Screenshot-335.jpg

Screenshot-340.jpg

Well, if you need more proof that Sidney's a werewolf...here you go. His very first autonomous action as a functioning Sim is to tear apart the nearest dining room chair. Why did I want wereboos again?

Screenshot-343.jpg

Okay, Tessa's turn!

Screenshot-344.jpg

Tessa doesn't autonomously rip apart any furniture, which is why we're hopping right into CAS.

Screenshot-346.jpg

Here's Sidney! He seems to have inherited most things from his mama, although that black hair is Hank's color. (Quinn inherited her slightly-more-brown hair from Ada.) Sidney is an Insane(!) and Athletic little dude, and he likes Chinese music, ratatouille, and the color orange.

Screenshot-349.jpg

Tessa looks almost exactly the same as her brother - same hair color, facial features, etc. - except that SHE HAS HANK'S ADORABLE STICKY-OUTY EARS. Tessa is Insane(!!!) and Brave, and she likes Egyptian music, grilled salmon, and the color sea foam. (So many Lovelands have had sea foam as their favorite color. It's basically a family trait at this point.)

Screenshot-359.jpg

It isn't long before Tessa takes after her brother and attacks a piece of furniture. *sigh* I'm just glad we have the money to replace everything on the spot.

Screenshot-362.jpg

Oh yeah, apparently Rory didn't exactly notice his wife's revelation back on the ground floor of Aquarius. He is duly SHOCKED when Krystal tells him that the bump she bears is, in fact, their child.

Screenshot-365.jpg

Rory couldn't be happier. I think he's going to be a good, and adorable, dad.

Haha, me too! The twins are teenagers now in-game (I've fallen a bit behind on writing chapters, oops) and they are certainly wreaking some havoc.

Thank you! Yeah, I sort of split my time between loving the wereboos and wanting to pull my hair out.

YES. Oh my gosh. The first time I heard it I almost fell out of my chair. That little howl is officially my favorite thing in The Sims 3.

Chapter 144 - Everything Is Blue

Screenshot-356.jpg

It's toddler time in the Loveland household, and boy is it cute.

Screenshot-357.jpg

...And stressful. Krystal spends a lot of time making and testing drinks, regardless of the potent greenish fumes they exude when she screws up. Also regardless of the fact that she is pregnant. Y'know. Just Sims things. :P

Screenshot-366.jpg

Hank comes home from work every night and goes straight for his babies. He's eager for his children to know how to walk so that one day, they can join his pack and hunt.

Screenshot-368.jpg

Grandpa Nico hangs around, too, but he seems unable to interact with his grandboos at this point. He tries, but the action always cancels and then he takes off running home. *sigh*

Screenshot-370.jpg

Quinn finds potty training to be a gleeful activity.

Screenshot-2.jpg

Sidney and Tessa quickly become friends over the dollhouse. Somehow twisting the heads of dolls is a bit scarier when a baby werewolf is doing it.

Screenshot-8.jpg

And of course, I periodically hear a violent ripping sort of sound, and have to go in search of the wereboo that is shredding a flower pot on the edge of a fifteen-foot-deep pool. :o

Screenshot-16.jpg

Two troublesome nooboos, eh? Let's have some more!

Screenshot-19.jpg

I was going to make Krystal have a home birth, but Rory's look of panic is so deeply distressing to me that I send them off to the hospital anyway. Rory, darling, it's oh-KAY!

Screenshot-27.jpg

Late that night, Krystal gives birth to a healthy baby boy and names him Vaughn. Rory looks much calmer, having evidently spent the past four hours sitting in the waiting room with a book.

Screenshot-28.jpg

Krystal arrives home and Quinn immediately invites her out for a night on the town.

"Wow, your baby reeks. You look like you need a stiff drink. What do you say we head to Waylon's?"
"Thanks, Quinn! That sounds lovely. Let me just put Vaughn in his formal swaddle and then we can go."
"You're bringing--?!? Ugh, fine."

This whole going-out-after-giving-birth idea turns out to be a bust, and not for the reasons you think. Actually, turns out it's already like 2 am by this point, and I just hadn't looked at the clock in a while. Krystal, Quinn, and baby Vaughn arrive at The Prosper Room just as it closes and I feel like a royal idiot.

Screenshot-31.jpg

So instead, they come home, put the baby to bed, and spend the rest of the night lounging by the pool and bonding over the horrors and beauties of babies. Dawn is creeping over the horizon before long.

Screenshot-34.jpg

They finish their night of bonding with a dip in the pool, giving Rory an enticing view during his early-morning workout.

Screenshot-36.jpg

With our newborn infant fast asleep, we must return to our toddler wereboos. Doesn't Sidney look just like his mom?

Screenshot-41.jpg

I think Tessa looks a bit more like Hank, but it's honestly hard to tell at this point.

As for new pop Rory...he's still working on this whole fatherhood thing. Somehow whenever he holds his child, he looks like he's curiously examining an inanimate object he just found at a thrift store or something.

Screenshot-42.jpg

"Oh, wow, I've always wanted one of these! And it's only five dollars!"

Screenshot-50.jpg

It's a happy time for the Lovelands. Babies everywhere, and a scenic backdrop to make even toddler training look beautiful.

Screenshot-57.jpg

I have to wonder how Meelo is going to get along with his dog-like companions as they grow up. I guess he does fine with Hank, so...here's hoping.

Screenshot-74.jpg

The full moon rises just a few days after the toddlers are born. That eerie glow in Tessa's eyes is all the more striking under its light.

And this is when I get to experience my first wereboo howls. YOU GUYS. WEREBOOS CAN HOWL.

Screenshot-66.jpg

*dies*

Screenshot-72.jpg

*dies again*

The first time the twins howl autonomously, I just about explode from excitement. It's the cutest thing imaginable and I SHALL NEVER RECOVER, NEVER.

Screenshot-79.jpg

Well, I must attempt to recover a little bit, because it's Vaughn's first birthday and we're about to find out whether Krystal and Rory are truly capable of making colorful-haired babies.

Screenshot-81.jpg

Of course he ages up with the hair style that is all root. Okay, let's hold our breaths and get him into CAS...

Screenshot-85.jpg

YES BLUE HAIR. YES. YES YES. Vaughn is as good as it gets, people. He has blue hair, and his favorite color is blue, and everything is blue. Well, his hair and his shirt. ANYWAY. Vaughn's traits are Friendly and Virtuoso, and he likes songwriter music (that seems to be the extremely annoying trend this generation), shawarma, and of course the color blue. Did I mention blue? Blue. Blue blue. Okay I'm done.

The twin weretoddlers are so cute, and I love the toddler howl they do.
I'd forgotten about that since I haven't played with werewolves in quite some time.

And blue-haired Vaughn is adorable!

Any chance for a sibling for him, either one with the blue hair or Rory's red hair!?

With this being the last gen for the TJ game, hopefully you've saved copies of all of them to share!!!???

I'm loving playing with the Kindle's in my Farmacy game!
Leonard (Diwan Kindle) Swanson and his twin baby sisters, Julia and Grace Kindle, are now elders, but they have some great looking kids, and grandkids, for Leonard.

I'll share some pics in the snap shots thread on the Forum and link it to this post when I'm done.

Edit: Here's the link.

If this gen's kids are already teens, then it's close to the end of their TJ journey! :(

That's sad, of course, but a great accomplishment! :)

Everyone is so cute but the feeling of raising three toddlers at once is not. Yes I know you've done it before but did it take years off your life?
