Taking Vacation Question

I was wondering if I should take the cat with my Sims when I send them on vacation or can I leave him behind?  I want to do the Outdoor Retreat area if that makes a difference.

So sorry for the very late reply, either way works. You can purchase pet equipment at the little rangers kiosk in the Campground area. If you leave your pet behind I think their needs are basically frozen until you travel home but they may be very hungry as you arrive home so feed them immediately.
