Changed resolution in game and now can't play
« on: April 20, 2020, 09:29:05 AM »
Hello.

I just loaded origin and the game updated etc.

I loaded the game and was playing around in game with my settings to see if I could make my game span both my monitors. I changed the resolution settings and my game imediately crashed :o. I tried to re-run the game and I can here the music playing but the screen is either black or white with a larger pointer arrow and I have to ctrl+alt+del and end my game through task manager. >:(

I have looked on the internet for solutions but nothing works. I have moved my game files out and created a backup, restarted my computer so it can start from fresh. I have tried updating the width and height resolution number in options.ini file. I have also tried clearing the cache files - none of this works.

I am greatful for any suggestions offered before I try doing a complete uninstall and reinstall from my Origin account (I know this will take ages with all my expansion and game packs etc)

Thank you - Kiki  :)

If you haven't already, it may be a good idea to ask about this issue over at AHQ's Sims 4 Tech Help board. They may have a better idea of if Sims 4 can be run on a dual monitor system and if so how to put that together.
